I actually enjoyed Snyder's Batman run for the most part. There were some misses for sure but overall it was fine. That said, this gimmick won't work for very long if the story and characters aren't amazing, and race/gender swapping is not character development. It's just a gimmick.

Why are you hyperfixated on barbs race? It’s supposed to be a new universe and by that logic, it can operate anyway it wants to. Killer croc is a regular dude now, joker doesn’t laugh, Alfred is a super spy. But people can’t handle barbs race? We don’t know how her race will impact the story btw. Bruce is poor now and straight up doesn’t have his same level of training so he has to be more brutal to compensate as he lacks grace. I don't care about black barbara. If they made cyborg, lucius fox, or black manta white, I wouldn't care either. Black panther is different because the whole centerpoint of his character is being black since he is a prince of an African nation. But for the other three, being black is not their main trait, the race doesn't affect the role of the character.

Brave and the bold was unironicly great. The only issue is the edge lords mad it went back to batman's silver age roots and wasn't dark and gritty enough.

I hear you, but I think some of the points you brought up will/can be addressed in the later issues, I dunno why they changed some of things they did, but I think this is to signify to the reader that this universe is a bit unorthodox to the stories they’ve read in the past. Plus I don’t think you’re giving the story a fair shake when you’re dismissing it after one chapter.

Diversifying the batman universe does no harm. I actually enjoyed Snyder's Batman run for the most part. There were some misses for sure but overall it was fine.
That said, this gimmick won't work for very long if the story and characters aren't amazing, and race/gender swapping is not character development. It's just a gimmick.

You can't make black panther white because his ancestry and place of origin is directly tied to his character. Barbara Gordon's race has absolutely nothing to do with her character. Same thing if you made Spawn white, it wouldn't really change much about the character.

Why are you hyperfixated on barbs race? It’s supposed to be a new universe and by that logic, it can operate anyway it wants to. Killer croc is a regular dude now, joker doesn’t laugh, Alfred is a super spy. But people can’t handle barbs race? We don’t know how her race will impact the story btw. Bruce is poor now and straight up doesn’t have his same level of training so he has to be more brutal to compensate as he lacks grace. Also, almost every character in Batman looks like they’re from the same gene pool. Most robins have black hair and are pale. That goes for bats catwoman and many other important characters.
