  • The 300zx is quick, comfortable, and sports a fairly unique look. They are also astonishingly reliable, even though they are ~25 years old at this point and packed to the gills with gadgetry they never really seem to have any significant issues. Having said that, not all cars are perfect, and the Z has its fair share of issues which I cover in this video.

Im 22 and have had a rhd 2+2 TT for two years there’s actually a lot of space in the back compared to the 3000gt and it’s a lot more comfier too. I haven’t had any issues and yeah the engine is hard to work on but it’s not impossible haha it’s funny how much people are starting to notice the 300zx lately

my parents didn’t let me buy one at 17 because it was an old car, a standard twin turbo were going for a good 10k now they doubled in price some even close to tripling going for $25-30k

None of these issues are hard to fix. The engine bay is tight but easy enough for anyone with slightly above average mechanical skills. These are old cars now but once you fix the issue they are solid.

You do need to remove the intake to get to the injectors. However taking the intake off is pretty simple. Just unplug some wires remove some bolts. If I were to say would be difficult is old coolant lines get dry and hard to remove. But not impossible.

My 2 kids, who are in elementary school, sit in the back seat with out any issue and I’m 6’2. Yes, my seat is moved forward a few clicks but it doesn’t affect my driving position. It super easy to get in and out for them with the lever on the top of the seat.

My friend had one of the non-turbo models in a right hand drive spec here in PA, USA. Loved the sound of the car, but he didn't have it long.

No mentioning of the Bose system or the fact the clock just doesn't work? Two piece drive shaft with the carrier bearing ultimately failing. Did I mention the over engineered Bose sound system?

Sorry to hear that mate! Hope you sorted those issues out..didnt see too many others on forums complain about those problems

@@Azizdesign_ Oh yeah. I bought my first one 18 years ago. The stereo issues and fuel injector issues are probably the two most common problems. Each speaker has its own individual amp that is in the speaker housing on each corner. In 1990 I'm sure it sounded great. But, within several years they failed. I imagine none of the original systems work the way they were intended.
But, yeah I've fixed and dealt with virtually every issue possible lol.

25+ old injector will fail on anything that old. The engine bay isnt that bad. T-top seals will go bad on anything that old. fyi its an old car that looks amazing, but will have to be maintained.

I got one with 215milages and I got a problem When I go up mountains the rpm sometimes goes down a little and goes up. I think it needs spark plugs but I don't know much about the car's engine. Can you help me?

Check your injectors, seems like an oscillating fuel issue

they are not hard to work on. vtc rattle is just maintance, replace the springs. all in all the z32 is a amazing car. ive had z32s for 10 plus years. its all about prep work and quality of work performed. if you want a turn key car with no soul. this isnt the car for you. you want people to chase you down and talk about the time they had a z car or any car they had a passion for ..get a z. learn the turn a wrench and be mindful of the quality of work you do, fast isnt good. if good cars were easy, youll be in a muscle car group talking about head light bulbs.
