    It seems this strat can lead to the 20s clipping the 8s and vice versa. You might want to try using 8, 12, 16, 20 from top to bottom so that the 8s and 20s are far away from each other.

    • @Ranorlol
      @Ranorlol 2 года назад +4

      You can just sort it THRM and it eliminates having to care about what timer goes where entirely. Sometimes one person may have to slightly adjust but you're already adjusting for this mech as it stands. All that matters fully is that 20 dips their toes in first.

      @@yallqaeda1349 Hey, I'm the original creator for this strat I guess, made it for day two to my static before PF has seen it.
      To fix this problem, you need to take a step back from the original position when your debuff counter hits 1 (something around 1 meter (half-character length))
      The other solution is adjust to the side after having your debuff go off, then adjust back near mid for center explosion, before finally going back north or south before swapping sides.

      You can solve the problem by having 20s stick to the middle for the time the big aoes go off. Then move to north after the others clear up to dump their big aoe.

    A suggestion for everyone who Raids in PF. To avoid 20s and 8s clip, 8s can move on 12s’ position after their (12s) big AoE goes off. Doing so, 20s have plenty of room to run outside the boss’ hitbox without clip with anyone.
    (Assuming these timer positions, 20s run away towards NW/NE).

    It looks easy but super hard to pull if off in PF. I just did some experiments in PF and people couldn't spread out enough for the timer position (especially 8 and 12), and killed each other to that huge aoes. You need good markers or downtime melees for the spread.
    Edit (3 hours later): just cleared p6 using this strat on pf. For 8 and 12, you def need to spread much wider than what it shows in the video. Also, pop sprint if you are 8 and 20 after 20 explodes, they can be clipped when one goes out and one goes in. Also, don't forget to switch colors! GL!

      We did it with the 20s immediately running in and having 8, 12 and 16 spread very wide around the boss. By the time the 20s run out towards north, the 8s will run in and the 20s can take their spots. Should leave plenty of room and as long as the 8s move in early enough, there should be no clipping of with the aoes.

    For our group, we positioned 8, 12, 16, 20 from North to South, 20 starts inside the boss. After their thing goes off, they run away south as the 8s are running in south, it prevented a lot of accidental deaths when the 20s AoE goes off around the same time the 8s need to move in.

    One more tip besides using the hitbox I would add is 8 and 20 should go in/out right after the cast bar finishes. That's a lot easier than trying to time explosions and no counting is necessary.
    I think your positioning before is better than this one honestly. Having 20 and 8 next to each other increases the risk of error when they're both moving in and out unless you use the JP strat where all rotate clockwise.

  • @OrionXIXI
    @OrionXIXI 2 года назад +41

    This strat is killing people in PF left and right. People aren't spreading widely enough and clipping all the time. It's much better to just have the 20s start in, giving the other 6 more room to spread outside. As long as the 20s are mindful not to overlap eachother on the way out north after their predations, it works much more cleanly. It's ESPECIALLY bad when groups hard stick to Diamond LC as well, because they have to put markers for that and then guess at spacing for this strat, which is a much more punishing mech.

    • @KelttenTV
      @KelttenTV Год назад

      If the 20s start out and go in after the 8s pop gives a lot more wiggle room as the 20s were getting clipped by 8s in most matches ive seen.

    • @OrionXIXI
      @OrionXIXI Год назад

      @@KelttenTV When I said in, I meant the 20s start close together in the middle of the hitbox, giving the other 6 people TONS of room to spread max melee outside the hitbox while their aoes go off. The 20s inside have plenty of time to spread apart a bit before the end of the predation cast. As long as they are given room to leave to the north while their aoes go off after predation hits, everything goes smoothly with very little risk of clipping. It's just Ilya strat or what Primal sometimes calls Imi. A bit more movement but very safe and consistent, which is honestly far more important in PF.

    This strat is very clean and helps with positioning. Good work!
    However, there's an alternative way to treat the timers.
    If you're struggling with determining color and timer in one go, you can do away with memorizing all the timings and positions for timers.
    You only need to note who has the longest (20) timer in the beginning.
    Everyone else can situate themselves according to colors and then at any clock spot near the boss hitbox. The timing for walking in can be determined by the order that people are hit by the initial impact from their debuff (easy visual). Use that visual to determine when to move in. (Of course, only note 20 so they go first.)

    In jp servers we are doing the same thing but instead of going 8,20,12,16 north to south we are just doing T,H,D,D (dps prio North D1 D2 R1 R2 South). Then solve the same way. That way you going to pretty much the same place on boss hitbox just different sides of the boss. Our markers are also places in melee range so that you stand in them and cannot clip others with you explosions.

    The strat is extremely consistent no matter the order but just change the markers. Put the markers in the outer ring of tiles, so just not the inner 4 or the very corners on the line that touches the centre four and in the middle of each tile - two tiny squares to the left and right. You do that and it's not possible to clip each other with aoes no more.

    Curious - any advantage of adding the complexity of timers? You can just do role priority since it's always role split. Spots are almost perfect for this, and movement already works. Also you can jut use the shield debuff timer (vuln debuff) to walk in at 1st, unless you're the 20s, where you're first.

    • @bool.
      @bool. 2 года назад +1

      With this strat, you walk in when the person to the north of you gets hit, rather than having to figure out "am I supposed to be second or third with 12s timer..." or having to watch your debuffs for when the vuln wears off.

    • @HectorHectorson

      Not just extra damage; Instant death levels of damage.
      The dual predation baits target the nearest player on snake side with a snake attack and nearest player on wing side with a wing attack.
      If you have snake debuff and take a snake attack, the damage will 1-shot you. Same thing if you have wing debuff and take a wing attack.
