  • Alastair talks about owning legs in racehorses over the years. A gamble that went astray at Leicester Races. He also explains his love of Cheltenham including an hilarious account of the time he was gifted a box for the day. He talks about how an ante-post gamble at Cheltenham on Norton's Coin went astray, even though it won at 100/1.

I enjoyed this interview. I got into racing from channel four and it was always watched in our house. Marking off the selections as they were given out. The new ITV team I also rate, Especially Fitzy who has done me well with his paddock observations. All of these have been good except just one, that eejit Caan Berry. I have never heard anyone speak as much without anything of any use at all. Did u get one with Barney?, he is a legend in my world and his legacy will be eternal. One person who really helped me was Nick Mordin, I guess he could easily fill five hundred slots. One of the greatest racing brains going. Keep them coming Simon. And one gripe is when punters do their brains all the advice is help to stop betting when really they could try and focus and learn from past mistakes. Racing in the UK and Ireland is special. These interviews do it justice. Well done for that Simon.
