As you said, very different scenery along the canal (no towpaths, very narrow and windy) but then being on such a big wide river! And by the way, your excitement was palpable! Thanks for taking us along for the ride. 😍
Hi Elliott, What a journey you have just experienced. I have watched others negotiate the Ribble and yours appeared to be the smoothest. Maybe that is because Narrowboat Raggedy Ann had two VERY experienced boaters on hand. Thank you Elliott, Mark Alberta, Canada (currently in Portsmouth)
Hi Mark - thanks for that. I think we were a touch lucky on the weather but then I saw a boat go through a couple of days later and they have NO wind and hardly any waves so they got it even easier! Personally I think Raggedy Ann and Gerald just made it look smooth 👍 Enjoy Portsmouth!
Hi guys. You told me about that word game a while back. I just subscribed to your new channel. I didn’t know about it until I heard you mention it in this video. Did I miss a promo on your new channel? I must have. However, it’s nice to see you guys again. Cheers mate, from hot Las Vegas.
Ooooh now then, we thought we had mentioned it before but you’re making us think now 🤔 Maybe we’ll pop one of the Explore the UK videos over here to make sure that people know what sort of content we cover on Explore the UK so they don’t miss out..?
Enjoyed todays adventure. Where is Josh, why didn't you take him with you? CRT did a good job with the locks. Thanks to Gerald for giving you a new experience. Take care and stay safe.
Thanks Yvonne! Oh JOSH would have loved the experience but we are quite some distance from here so it will have to remain on our ‘to tick off the list at some point’ list! Cheers 👍
What a nice guy Gerald was to take you up the ribble with him. Where was Sue she wasn't that worried was she? You must take Josh one day you'd love it all over again. You must have passed by Wills way with Will at the helm? Like ships in the night. He had problems with the rag wort too such a shame 🫠 thoughtvtgeyd get it out the lock wouldn't you. I loved that crossing but by your smile no where as much as you did. It's very much like the estuary I kayak mud banks on the creek to little Petherick near padstow and out into the rushing tidal main estuary with the bigger waves and speed boats etc flying past. You made good time going against the tide. I can cut corners on my kayak ha ha... I'm so pleased for you that you got passage on the ribble link so are you returning on another boat thumbing a lift eh? Dirty thumbs up and a dirty great big smile 😀 Look out for my new kayaking video not edited yet as I mentioned watch this space.. Kev the brinklow kayaker So pleased for you.❤
Thanks Kev! 👍 Gerald is an absolute star and we’ve enjoyed spending some time with him since the filming, another diamond of the waterways!!! Sue had other commitments in the afternoon but she didn’t really fancy it. Remember she doesn’t even swim, so a tidal River isn’t her favourite place I suppose. I’d love to take JOSH at some point, we just need to work out the draft thing in the Savick Brook section. On paper JOSH is too deep for it but then we hear of people with deep drafts making it OK. It’s a proper problem though if you get stuck at the River end so we just need to check it out more before attempting it on JOSH. Glad your paddle went well - will keep an eye out for the video!! Ps Wills Way?? Cheers E & S
Did I miss something? I haven't seen you guys on Josh for awhile, Are you guys just bopping around by Auto/train and Josh is moored up somewhere, just wondering cuz I haven't seen you on Josh for quite awhile. Glad you got to live out River Ribble dream ,really looking forward to seeing the video about the murdered old lady, sounds fascinating even tho you had no idea you were standing where someone was murdered, kinda crazy, well anyway 👋👋 hi it's Kevin from Michigan and as I always say "keep pushing on"💪 "
Hi Kevin - thanks for that. Josh is fine but hasn’t moved a great deal because we need to earn some money and need a stable internet connection for the work we are doing and the area ahead of us now isn’t the best for signal. Normal cruising style videos will be back but we need to prioritise the pennies first 👍 The murder house video is nearly edited and made so will be out any day now 💃🕺🏽 Thanks again!
There’s no reason this journey can’t, and shouldn’t, be made as long as people take care in preparing themselves and their craft. It’s a privilege and a joy to do it and I urge anyone tempted to just do it whilst you can!!
Awww what a grand adventure you had so very pleased for you how kind of Billy to take you along tc now the oldies 🤗🤗🤗👍👍👍
Thanks you two! ❤️❤️
