Great video, come and visit 'Pangean Archaeology' youtube channel for NEW Virtual reconstruction of powerful ancient city-state Tenochtitlan, at the height of the late Aztec Empire circa 15th century AD! Second part has annotated buildings and maps.
The main temple with two buildings on top is the temples of tlaloc and huitzilopotchli aka el templo mayor, other temples were in worship of other deitys or aspects of life such as xipototec, quetzalkoatl ect.. there was the great snake wall wich encompassed the citys center and divided the the rest of the city.. by the way its not aztek its mexikatl - the people of the bitter tasting reed. And tenochitlan means the land of the prickly peared cactus.. our people spoke nahuatl, kien tika no icniuhtli ( how are you my dearest respected friend) thank you for showing interest in la kultura theres alot of literature out there if youd like to learn more look up the mexika movement

La cultura mesoamericana ha sido sometida y forzada a olvidar su civilización, su lengua, sus creencias, su poesía, su calendario, su astrología, su arte, arquitectura, etc. pero a pesar de todo, nunca han sido vencidos. La prueba está en los conflictos que aún siguen en muchas comunidades indígenas, no sólo en el territorio que hoy ocupa México, sino en toda la región mesoamericana, como Guatemala, el Salvador, Honduras, etc. A mi juicio, lo peor que hizo Cortés no fué destruir esta belleza de ciudad, sino destruir la autoestima y valor de una civilización fascinante! A la fecha juzgamos a las culturas indígenas de una manera despectiva y humillante, por llamarlo de una forma muy decente.

No son Aztecas, hoy 03 de Septiembre de 2018 Aztlan es un mito, no existe. Se llamaban a si mismos Mexicas, por ser seguidores de Mexih (Huitzilopochtli) Dios de la Guerra, por eso siempre estaban en conflicto con otros pueblos. Obviamente de Mexih viene Mexicas y México.

dude imagine if this city was around today. This was built in the 1400s/1500s and it still holds up as an incredible and breathtaking city today. It would be the economic capital of the new world and it would be one of Earths most visited cities. So sad to see this incredible city deconstructed to build Mexico City.

If you know about some history you would know Spaniards saved and freed many tribes that were brutally oppressed by the Aztecs. I really hate this modern self hate or propaganda against European history and culture.

la cultura mesoamericana era fascinante. Como español si que me da pena que se quedase en el olvido y tan poco sobreviviera, imaginad el Templo Mayor en medio de Ciudad de Mexico, pero tambien gracias a esto todo el territorio conquistado avanzo enormemente en tecnologia sociedad y economia.
Cortés para mi es un héroe. Conquistó y liberó, un hombre noble para 1521, no se le debe villanizar, los Aztecas eran bastante peores en mi opinion. Españoles e hispanoamericanos somos hermanos y deberiamos estar unidos en esto. Somos todos hijos del imperio, y deberiamos celebrar esto que nos une en lugar de odiarnos, culparnos y mirarnos por encima.

Well if the spanish hadn't come it's likely aztec civilisation would have continued, but who knows for how long, they conquered many peoples and every year they sacrificed thousands of prisoners to their gods, they had many enemies, i think at some point they woud have clashed against mayan city states to the south since the aztecs were expanding to the south. It was because of all the enemies of the aztecs that the spanish were able to have many allies to defeat the aztecs in 1521.

Lo que si tengo muy claro, es el fanatismo del los españoles por el cristianismo, si hubiesen sido un poco mas inteligentes, hubiesen conservado esta hermosa ciudad, que ellos mismos relatan, parecía un sueño, pero destruyeron la creación del demonio y sus dioses, y aunque considero a mi ciudad actual bella, no imagino lo que seria una ciudad como lo fue Tenochtitlan en estos tiempos, no cabe duda las ciudades antiguas, tenían una identidad propia, las de hoy...........todas se quieren parecer a Nueva York. jajajajajajajaja, que estupidez.

It's likely that the Inkas would have made contact with the southernmost of the Maya, who may have happily formed an alliance and invaded the Valley of Mexico. Blending the technology and culture of the Andes, Central America, and Mexico would quite likely have resulted in a far more formidable land if Europeans found it a 150 or so years later. Certainly hard to say what would have been better, but the Conquistadors were bad, as were the elite of Mexico.

In terms of lore it wouldn’t work. The assassin order was created in the old world. Now you could say some secret assassin expedition somehow discovered the Americas but that just seems like a copout. The only way it could work is if it takes place during the arrival of the conquistadors.
