I’ve used canned carrots with BB date of Apr. ‘21. In beef stew when I had no fresh carrots.

Most canned food can last 20+ years stored correctly

Yes. It will lose some taste and nutritional value but it would still be edible that far out when stored properly. Speaking about best buy dates just is giving people a good idea on when it still will have the best taste. I do personally feel like it's best practice to pay attention to those dates and use up your oldest items first but by no means would I say you should ever get rid of it just because the date hits unless the can appears to be compromised or something like that.

There is Not Much Quality in Store Brands Like Wal-Marts "Great Value"!! Some Food Items are Worth Spending a Bit More Money On Instead of CRAP Products Your Family Will Not Eat. "Great Value Lunchen Meat" Is One of Them. SPAM Is a Decent Product and There Are Many Ways To Prepare It. I Have Been Gathering and Prepping For 12 Yrs. Now, and Have Tried Many Different Brand Name Products. I Find The "Great Value" Brand is Very Low On My List. You Get What You Pay For!! If Your Not Going to Eat Your Preps. Then It's All For Not. Do Your Research!!
