(There's an argument that Breaking Out is still part of that story, because that album is "The Beginning of the End," and the imagery of the girls being separated by the red thread of fate is very similar to Piri, but that's not relevant to this MV.) They also didn't bring in any of the prominent symbolism from the Nightmare story -- all of the symbolism and imagery in this story is new.

Welp this is totally different from the story i made up in my head about the mv. My version is this: (i didnt take lyrics into account) YooHyeon in the first scene is the present. Its after everything happened and shes walking back to her throne.. but when she sits on her thrones, the memories haunt her. How close Jiu and her was in the past, dining with their friends, then when the realization striked her when she realised that Jiu only got close to her so she will let her guard down, so she can take her throne easily. Yoohyeon had to leave the kingdom. But she was devastated, she lost her family. Friends. And her kingdom. So she started plotting her revenge, falling deep into darkness. The coffin with Yoohyeon in red dress symbolizes that the old innocent trusting yoohyeon is long gone. Dead. She grew and thrived in hatred, now back and in a black dress that symbolises dark intensions. She strikes at Jiu, after a long battle and destructions (the scene of the theone room in a mess) Jiu had the upper hand. But after stending so much time with Yoohyeon and stabbing her in the back, Jiu felt the guilt consume her after seeing what she made Yoohyeon become, how the old pure Yoohyeon is gone.. so as payback, Jiu decides to spare Yoohyeon her life, asking her never to come back as she turns to leave the room. Little did she know Yoohyeon came for blood, and is only leaving with death. Jiu dies as the sqord pierces her from the back by Yoohyeon, litteral backstabbbing. Then the coffin scene with Jiu, and how Jiu disappears from the coffin table, shows her death. Yoohyeon sits on the throne alone.. opened her eyes and the memory ends

Wow I only managed to get some idea from it. The idea I got was that Deja Vu meant a familiar feeling of something you have experienced. And seeing that there were multiple shots of the same frames a lot of times, means they were experiencing the same feeling. Especially with the shots of them being happy together to them being distant and alone and miserable showed that they missed that feeling. A fight broke out which is why the friendship was gone and lost. Now they're experiencing a Deja Vu of all of them being together and missing that feeling. (idk like i said i could be wrong and misinterpreted that badly)

My guess is that the 'I'm saved now' plays with the idea that once they've abandoned themselves to the illusion of the deja vu they don't suffer anymore because of that. By falling into the fantasy they are saved because the person they loved is with them and everything is fine. Obviously it's a 'fake' salvation because they've fallen in the deja vu...it's not real, but the rest of the lyrics imply that either they don't care, or don't know what's real and what's not. Makes sense? :D
i'm sure someone might have mentioned this before (maybe i didn't scroll enough), but : the outro of Déjà Vu is nothing but the intro but reversed. same goes for the chereo of these parts - the chereo for the outro is intro's chereo but reversed, thus further emphasisng the déjà vu theme :)) edit: the déjà vu theme is also apparent in the rest of the chereo, for example during Handong's "So now, I'm holding this pain"

so the song is actually a collab with the anime mobile game King´s Raid The storyline in this is really dark and tragic. Yoohyeon, possessed by evil kills her childhood friend and then proceeds to kill the rest of her friends who came to save her. She is left haunted by her actions and the devastation of losing everyone she loved. the story has no end as of now though because the game is still progressing

You guys should watch the animated version of this song collaboration with vespa, a gaming company. The game's name is King's Raid. It's related with the game storyline. Even the blood moon is similar with the one from the game.
When you compare the MV's for the game soundtrack, the story kinda match and can further explaining the story both for the lyrics and the game's plot itself.
I feel like Yoohyeon also killed all the other members too. You didn't discuss it here, but in the choreo, near the end of the song, the members do a stabbing motion to their body showing what Yoohyeon did to them and Jiu (stabbing and killing them).
I think that Deja Vu, is a song about Yoohyeon experiencing hell. What I mean is that, since Deja Vu means already seen, she is experiencing the same event all over again, each time it ends, it starts again. The girls tried to help Yoohyeon, but she refused and killed their avatars. Btw, the girls are grim reapers.

I think that Deja Vu, is a song about Yoohyeon experiencing hell. What I mean is that, since Deja Vu means already seen, she is experiencing the same event all over again, each time it ends, it starts again. The girls tried to help Yoohyeon, but she refused and killed their avatars. Btw, the girls are grim reapers.
