Wicked crash Matt, but you keep an upbeat attitude through it all. Man, burns are the most painful injuries, I feel for you. Get that burn taken care of, the skin keeps infection out of your body, and you can get a bad infection if not careful.
Never dealt with a burn before but this is gnarly! Think I’m stuck in the burn unit for the week, luckily I am in good hands but was definitely not expecting this!
Dude you should reach out to that helmet company and ask for a new helmet... Burn looks nasty, but it could have been much worse..... Best MX content out there...

Damn sucks you went down like that! I’m sure I can speak for a lot of us it was a total bummer you didn’t get to make the outdoor. Getting to hear the 2 smoke rip with you on it is just sweet music. But hopefully you heal up right and get well soon man. On a side note it was super cool to see Levi out there still charging with the young guys! I remember watching him race supercross probably 15 years ago.
So bummed I didn’t make it to the outdoor but just the way she goes sometimes! And Levi is a legend, fun to race with and he’s a good dude
Great riding you were really pushing and looked like it would have been another good result without the little mistake . My mate ended up with a pipe burn similar size after his Kx 250 ended up on the back of his shoulder in a mid race crash around 2003, he was stuck face down under a tangled pile of three bikes and his own pipe melted thru his race shirt he couldnt get out for quite a while with his own bike revving like mad until the bikes were untangled and lifted off so like you it was burning in for quite a while ,from memory I think he said it ended up something like 3mm deep burn, the actual wound was looking very like yours and very painful, he told us they tested the depth of the burn with needles to see where the feeling was and declared, he would need a skin graft which they peformed in the next few weeks after his crash, Hope the recovery goes well I'm really enjoying your channel and your riding and outlook are very impressive , shit always seems to happen to all of us when we're performing well . Chin up and hope your back out there real soon smokin it buddy

Arenacross is gnarly. I started out racing in Morristown tn back in the day and those tracks are so tight and require more skill than I had and I definitely looked like some of the D class goons out there. Anyway much respect and hope you heal up soon. Much love.

Dude, I went for a last lap pass. I was in the C class alright!! There was a triple before the finish that was sketchy even for the A guys. I was in 2nd and this dude on his freaking 89 CR125 ALWAYS beat my by a bike for 1 - 2. I just let the ol 89 KX 125 EAT!!! I almost made it. Clipped the top, got squirly and rammed head first into a light pole! I'm talking 5' cement blocks with the pole coming out over that. I literally skinned my chin off. If I'd been an inch lower, it would have been really nasty. Thats what happens when you build a supercross track on the infield of a 3/8 mile speedway!!! Gotta dodge the light poles!

Last year I was working at a powersports shop and racing on weekends, this year I have been doing a lot of training kids and then racing on weekends, but since outdoors started and everything kind of took off for me I haven’t had as much time for it. I’ll be doing it while I’m hurt though!
