Why is everyone hating Chen Long? you guys think that he asks Lin Dan to give him walkover? It's either Lin Dan or his coach who is at fault..but over the past year Chen Long has improved tremendously.. he is playing well now..and beating LCW is not an easy task.. he did it.. and he deserves it

he did not retire. he was just taking a break from badminton after the olympics. he rejoined the china national team on 1st march. he underwent physical assessment conducted by team coaches and was reported in good condition.

i think lcw does not need any coaches anymore since he is no.1 for so long. He just need to get a motivater to prepare the wining mental against lindan. Rashid and seu bock is only an advisor to him, but in the court he is the one that control his own destiny.

@BobbyFischer0000 I have to disagree with you. Chen Long has improve tremendously since 2009. Height does not automatically make him better. It just slightly increases his reach thats all.

I totally disagree with you man, misbun din't change the style of LCW playing, he trained LCW all the basic stuff, it is Tey who taught him how to become all round player, playing more aggresively as needed as facing China players today, I think that if it were the case that misbun be the coach, we aren't able to hear LCW anymore caused he is no more world no1 since then

It seems that you don't get the point. I believe @BobbyFischer0000 was trying to say, if Chen Long has the same height or not too tall compared to Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei, he's nowhere as good as he is now.

yup,Datuk Lee Chong Wei is a very good sportsmen..he respects his opponents..very good character on court..he will face anyone without giving many excuses (guess who is the coward player?)..I truly respect this guy, his style of play is very different (compared at Denmark Open)..aggressive and good precision of smash/drop shot..

Seriously in my opinion, many people told me that lindan is better than chong wei. I totally agreed with them. Another stuff is people told me chong wei is better than both chen long and chen jin. I partly dont agree with them. Because both chen jin and chen long is very much younger than chong wei and lin dan, so they have the chance to rule the top of the badminton world. Malaysia, indonesia, denmark today is not producing good single shuttler like in the past. Only japan and korea .
Does anyone know if Lin Dan has retired because i haven't seen him in any of the tournaments recently
it's a semi final. I am pretty sure the players will get more excited when one takes championship.
LCW is truely humble when he wins. I hate that chen long and lin dan always take off his shirt and runs around not respecting the officials or other players in the last two open.
@dickolism i think the reason people hate Chen Long is because of his unsportsmanlike celebration after beating Chong Wei at Japan Open final and not because of the walkover by Lin Dan.....and i believe everyone know it's not Chen Long who ask Lin Dan to purposely walked for Chen Long. It is the coaching stuff who asked Lin Dan to do so. Again, it's Chen Long unsportsmanlike celebration.

@Din211j1 What Do u mean ? i think Tey Seu Bock is a splendid coach..Chong Wei Reach 11 finals won 7 titles and 3 runner ups because of Seu Bock....He gave him the right directions on The All England and made an historical win over LD..Im not saying Misbun is no good..im just saying Seu Bock is better :) But I would like to see Misbun And Seu Bock work together to Prepare Chong Wei for the London Olympics 2012

@hubing4626 A while back, he was up against Lin Dan in some tournament. The commentators had interviewed him (or read several interviews) and were talking about how hard it must be for him, facing his idol, the man who he modeled his game after. I don't know which tournament that was, though - but I agreed, he played very much like a younger Lin Dan, relying very much on his hard smash.
hes just young and immature and those two wins are big for him, lee chong wei is older and more mature and has been in the circuit for almost a decade and the first fiw years hardly won anything, thats why hes so menatlly tough and can deal with losses.

LCW is weak without his former "SIFU" Misbun Sidek.His current coach is just take advantage of what misbun hardwork.now he defeated not to lin dan but also to chen long a young player from china.i know LCW just want to help his current coach because of races.BUT he did not realize that to increased back his performance is with MISBUN SIDEK...

I'm guessing the Chinese Coach gave Chen Long a walkover because CL has more potential than Wang Zheng Ming and CL is going to battle Lee Chong Wei. And since only one Chinese contestant will emerge from CL-WZM battle, the Coach might as well let the higher ranked player have his go without having to play WZM, thus giving CL an advantage with a break. Clever, but unfair from the Chinese Coach. Just as well LCW is so good that CL was beaten.

@rainbowcicak He's really not. He started less offensive and is trying to increase his offensive capabilities now - his style is very different from LD's. Wang Zhengming is the one copying Lin Dan.

@wettmoney100 u say Seu Bock is better? chong wei will never be No.1 player if not because of Misbun. Misbun trained chong wei from the start and when chong wei became no1, Seu Bock take over, and take all the glory. That's why chong wei always ask for misbun to come back and train him. Misbun gave him better tips than seu bock did.
