If you played this game long enough you would realize it doesn't matter.. I've skipped maxx c plenty of times by skipping my turn only to get OTKd.. hell i only need 6 cards to otk someone as well so when people not play into my maxx c they lose either way.. its a broken ass card.

***Edit. I've been playing since the end of goat format btw, I'd like to think I understand the game on a very deep level. The only thing better than drawing a card is SEARCHING one, which the tear player had plenty of chances to do. The player was bad and chose to make a board with no omninegates or recovery. Objectively he picked the worst line of action to deal with Maxx C.
@angelofdeath8933 it's only a broken card now cause ppl will some 20 monsters in one damn turn game getting annoying now..that's why I created my deck to play the old school way so far I'm 20-1 with it..

definitely. tear can play so well under maxx c (just go into kit and search for sulliek/havnis/cryme in that order) that should be one or two specials, depending on the opening hand and you have interaction, a way to trigger kit on your opponents turn and potentially additional combo starters/negates. no need to overextend when you can't finish them anyway.

Same, back when a duel involved both duelists actually playing their cards. I don't even understand how anyone can claim to have fun just spamming out 15 or 20 cards in a 20 minute combo. Honestly wish that Master Duel adds a GOAT Format.

how satisfying! I smile every time tearlament got mocked
Anytime maxx C resolves its an instant win 80% of the time so I usually just forfeit if I don't negate it.. rather save me the time rather than playing and losing or not playing and still losing... not to mention if you're going to take a maxx c challenge you better have a negates on the field and pray.
Most people say draw the out, but if and when Maxx does resolve, You already have.

There's no point taking Maxx C challenge as Tears when you can easily play on the opponent's turn.
When Maxx C drops, just go Kit, search Sulliek or Cryme, and pass
And when you get Evenly'd, keep Kaleidoheart! The guy is a self-reviving big body, an interruption, and an extender all in one

Kaleido is great but the opponent can crash it after evenly and none of those effect will go off
Better to keep rulkalos since she is at least 1 negate

Honestly that was pretty ridiculous. Didn’t set cryme for protection and chose to make a full board through maxx c
100% deserved. too greedy, didn't even look at opp hand with ttt, should've just stop with kitt and set suliek
But after all that hard work of using one of the most toxic decks in this game and once being humble by one specific trap card chooses to run only because the pendulum effect filled up his opponent's side of the field for a direct attack.
I am in diamond rank and all you see is:
Tearlaments, Despia, Branded (sometimes all 3...)
and Labyrinth. Nothing else. I got far with anti meta but you cant beat the consistency of these decks and the absurd crap they can do. they need ban these cards.

Evenly Matched is way too busted and should be nerfed to not be a handtrap at least, but seeing Tearlaments suffering is good enough I guess
Against decks like that one it should remain as is. It is funny seeing board wipes.

@@Justaplebxd1998 I would agree, treat the cause, not the symptoms. I think the only way to treat the cause of combo decks is to give the game a blanket ‘Once per turn’ across all cards, maybe soft, but I’d argue a hard once per turn for all cards. Would it end the reign of many combo decks? Yes. Would it also make the game healthier and end these ridiculous two turn games that literally only come down to who went first or whether a player drew a single answer card? Yes.
I do not miss the old school, build the fortress gameplay of the DM format, but I sure as hell miss duels lasting with an edge of strategy, not ‘my deck has a single line, every card gets me to that line, and I end my turn with 3 Omni negates and a few more in hand.’
@@KirabetasSmall hint: all those Tearlament and Ishizu effects are already once per turn. So yeah, just making all effects once per turn won't affect this deck at all.

2) negate with : ash , call by the grave , psy framegear gamma , droll and lock bird etc
3) Challenge Maxx CC and give your opponent all the tool he need to counter your deck
