    Hi Derek, been watching your videos recently and man its been a huge learning experience, much appreciated for your time and efforts and will continue to support this channel.
    Im very new to karting but im not new to motorsports.
    Ive got a few off topic questions to ask, i've recently acquired a Swiss Hutless chassis with a Biland SA250 for recreational use and learning.
    Could chassis components be interchangable between brands?
    Could this kart be used for competing?

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  3 года назад +1

      Hey Tommy, thanks heaps for the good vibes and for tuning in. most part will interchange as along as they have the similar dimensions from other brands. I haven't seen many Swiss Hutless karts for a few years, so I can't say for sure. however the Tony Kart parts are common and plentiful so maybe start there for replacement parts if you can't get the genuine version

    i just switched to a OTK chassis and remembered this video and saw it again, how necessary do you think this kit is? compared to what the kart comes from factory, and is there a difference between this kit and the one from senzo? i saw they sell them but its much cheaper that the one from kartshop

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  2 года назад +3

      They are expensive , but you get what you pay for. You can buy the Senso separately and the standard OTK ones. So the kit isn’t necessary, but a nice addition if you can stretch.

    Do these kits increase the amount of caster adjustment available compared to what comes standard on the 401rr or do these kits just make life easier?

    • @PowerRepublic

      they do both, increase the castor options available and make it easier to change them

    Question : what is the best action camera for gokart, and how would you mount them?
    Been looking at Gopro Hero 9, Gopro Max, Dji Osmo action and Insta360 One R, here in Norway it's not allowed to mount to the helmet/chest, so needs to be boltet to the kart.

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  3 года назад

      hero 9 is awesome IMO. and they have heaps for accessories too. The helmet cam CamBox are awesome too. great POV and the only 'safe' way to film with your helmet on. Check them out here.....

      I've been using an Osmo Action on my daughter's kart with great success for the last year and a half. We grabbed a GoPro rollbar mount, took the top half, and bolted that to the front faring. The stabilization on the Osmo works well. The only thing is the field of view is narrower than a GoPro but I like the more "true to life" perspective. :)

    If I had a a rear heavy kart and I wanted more grip in the front. Would taking weight off the rear give more grip in the front or just less grip in the rear?

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  3 года назад

      Hey Kev, I can't say for sure but if you did remove excess 'grip' off the rear, would that solve your understeer? my guess is yes. try it a see if that balances your kart out.

  • @ThePsyenzyme
    @ThePsyenzyme 3 года назад +1

    this system is only compatible with OTK chassis right?

    • @PowerRepublic

    What size kingpin are those compatable with??
    For my kart, i had to swap the 8mm kingpin to a 10mm when i upgraded the front brakes, so upgraded the caster/camber adjusters with a doubled set of dot 5, so i have adjustment at top and bottom. It allows for more independant adjustments of the castor OR camber. Theres a 3rd option to upgrade, thats the sniper caster/camber set up, which looks the best, and costs a small fortune.

      Hey Christian, if you have single (top) adjusters and you want to switch to top and bottom, is there anything else you need to change? Or do you just have to swap the bottom fixed ones for adjustable ones?
      Thank you

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  3 года назад +2

      yeah you can put adjustable in both top and bottom. I like to leave the standard one in the bottom as a reference. then I just change the top adjuster as necessary

      Assuming you mean the Briggs 4 Stroke engine when you say LO206, I would suggest trying to run a 75 rear sprocket and seeing how that affects your top RPM, if its gone down further then try moving to a 71 rear instead, though if my tired mind serves me right you should(?) get more RPM relative to speed by increasing the sprocket size... in any case a tachometer or other datalogger should be able to give you an easy indication of how the sprocket size change is affecting your revs and you can fine-tune from there, hopefully this helps!

    Can't help but cringe when proper race karts are called "go karts". Go Karts are those slow lawnmower engine powered steel things, not state of the art racing karts.
