He plays the flute as the blackbird sings. In despite of the 'difficulties' of such a piece, he remains musical, and natural, with no affectation at all. Absolutely amazing.
Mr. Brouriakov, you have such a beautiful and well rounded tone, and are the best technician for playing fast passages clearly. By far my favorite technician.
I've always loved this work for violin. This is a wonderful transcription and this guy blows my mind. Every aspect of his playing is absolutely incredible. The low register articulations are are amazing. If he ever comes to Boston, I'm DEFINITELY there. Many great artists are here and come thru here, so fingers crossed.
Denis this is just magic. I've heard rampal, Galway and pahud play this and always thought that jimmy had it but you are starting to take over. Bravo!!
Wow! This is a serious accomplishment! As a cellist (from a family of violinists) I can only say that you have played this so well that imho Oistrakh would be blown away. The arrangement is most interesting. Naoko Ishibashi is excellent (with a touch of chordal flourish at the end, too). This, I'll listen to over and over again!!
Stunning, Denis! How you are able to translate the concerto's violinistic passages with such ease and grace is the work of a magician. Especially the string skipping arpeggios and pedal tone figures, not to mention the soaring range of some of the phrases. As 00102alden has mentioned before, this indeed sets the bar for generations to come. Thunderous applause from Rio Rancho, New Mexico!
You have taken the standard up, which is hard to do these days, and I don't mean by this one recording - I mean you yourself are are now a new standard. It is always wonderful to hear you play. I am no less impressed by the subtle work you do playing principle in orchestra, I noticed you play for the Met Opera watching a video. Take good care of yourself please.
James Millen Denis Buriakov said in an interview with Stephan Hoskuldsson that James Galway gave him a scholarship to study flute outside of russia. Pretty cool huh
Can't agree more. However Denis and Paolo Taballione are the 2 rising studs that have replaced "Sir" Galway. Galway's age has caught with him. Try Paolo Taballione --- then tell me I'm wrong. Thanks.
@@rudolphmcneill3333 I am confident that history will write that Sir Galway is the best flutist of our time. As a flutist for 30 years it may serve well that I still insist that Taballione and Bouriakov will be legends in our time ---- eclipsing Galway with his "cross over" playing to put more coffers in his pocket. The flip side of the coin is that Galway has introduced the flute for those who wouldn't know a flute if they tripped over one. Thus he stands as a household name.
Give this guy an orchestra already! I really cannot believe this is a live performance, such a perfection!

Uno staccato incredibile, mai sentito prima. Tutti spariscono davanti alla tecnica prodigiosa di Bouriakov. Paganini del flauto.
The little nightingale!
Gifted young man that possesses the power to change any atmosphere.
His low range is magic.
I've listened to all three movements multiple times now.....I cannot believe my ears. There has never been anyone like you. Ever.
this has to be the most difficult to play in flute literature. . Kudos to Dennis.

If more flutists had a talent like this, this work would probably be composed for flute in the first place
I guess it's kind of randomly asking but does anybody know a good place to watch new tv shows online ?
@Azariah Anders I would suggest FlixZone. Just google for it :)
@Alonso Adrian yup, I've been watching on FlixZone for since april myself :)
@Alonso Adrian thank you, I signed up and it seems like a nice service :) I really appreciate it !
@Azariah Anders glad I could help =)
He's got amazing tone in the low register, everything is so well articulated, amazing all around

I remember playing this piece my freshman year in college. So many great memories. So many notes!!! Bravo! 💪🏽
He's beyond a virtuoso

This is INCREDIBLE!! Such emotion!..it had me in tears and laughter at the same time.

wow!!! I would love to take lessons from this guy. This inspires me to get better at flute.
Браво!
Wow! This is amazing.

Incredibile!!!
Nice performance 🎼🎵🎶👍
@Flutist007654 Thanks for that. I hope I will get to accompany someone playing this version some day!
absolutely grate !
Extraordinaire !
Bravo 👏
I don't know who adapted this for flute (you?) but it is brilliant! Congratulations on the exciting performance.
PSearPianist Jean-Pierre Rampal transcribed it in 1968.
Incredible lower register

Fantastycznie! Słucham już chyba 14 raz :)
Wow
I am confused why he held his flute this low

Eine Flötenmaschine.
Amazing relaxed technique.. although can't help feeling it would be even more amazing to watch if he looked like he cared a little bit XD
LOL
Imho.....he is the heir to the Galway throne!
While I actually dislike this interpretation, his technical precision is astonishing and without doubt unmatched.
Well, "Sir" James Galway had better step aside. He's been replaced by Bouriakov

You don't replace legends, you carry on their Legacies as great artists and remain humble.

@@jimmillen2241 Agreed. I'm also a flutist of many years. So I'm not speaking as just an admirer.
The piano accompanist is great, however IMO she often overshadows Denis, in certain passages. I'd like to hear him..
Denis --- stop making our ears bleed when you hit upper notes on C3!!
The pianist overshadows Bouriakov's playing --- we need to hear HIM --- not the pianist's playing.
