- Hiya, all! As some of you may have seen, I've had a hard time pulling this one together between tech issues and health issues, but my computer is working again and I'm happy to finally upload this one!

Another banger and it's for my second favorite X1 Maverick too! I like how there's been a personal conflict between X and the Mavericks in your lyrical adaptations. The fact that X is forced to fight his former comrades is clearly eating him up inside. As for Launch Octopus, he doesn't seem to hold any grudge towards X for what he's doing. All he asks for is an honorable battle and I think deep down, he doesn't really want to kill X but feels obligated by his sense of honor. It's actually a little heartbreaking to hear him slowly get more and more desperate for X to stop holding back. And despite everything, X still chooses to spare Launch Octopus when he comes out victorious, only for Launch Octopus to let the depths claim him anyway. In his mind, dying knowing that he fought for what he believed in was the only way to preserve his honor.

I love how all of these songs are literally just retelling the story of X1, it's just so COOL
X1 but the mavericks now get as much development and personality as possible

Glad you've fixed your bricked computer, this came out phenomenally! Such a cool listen.
woah, nice Thanksgiving treat! Been a while, but it certainly paid off. This stage theme is arguably one of the best from the game, and this cover absolutely does it justice! The vocals in this one are particularly great, and that art is absolutely badass.
Okay, this is awesome.
What makes this awesome isn't just the top notch arrangement, the video art, and the fact that you wrote an entire song. What makes it awesome is the characterization. It is extremely rare to see this type of characterization of Launch Octopus. Both fan and official works tend to play him more up an actively malicious role, since the audience is trained to see "octopus" as "intelligent" and "creepy" and the fact that his actual SNES animation has that intro taunt. I honestly haven't seen any work portray him as a noble enemy fighting out of honor until now.
My only quibble is that this really could use a theatrical vocalist to propel the track from awesome to timeless. This is not a knock on the existing vocals (which are much better than my own), but a song like this would greatly benefit from someone who's very skilled at both emoting and singing to push those lyrics.
Edit: I've seen your other videos, and some of the characters, especially X, have a *much* better overall execution. So, yeah, this is an issue with this particular track, not your videos as a whole. For character songs like these, you don't have to do it all. Even the best vocalists and voice artists have their limits.
Regarding the characterization, how he's portrayed as honorable rather than creepy or diabolical, the song even hints that he may have been that way once upon a time, until Sigma showed him a better way to be.
Kind of a poetic irony that Sigma making Launch Octopus a better person is what set the stage for this maritime martyr to become a maverick, if that's really the case, don't ya think? :)
Beautiful job with the prosody of this one! It's got some really nice punch, which matches very well with the personality you gave Launch Octopus. Another very good production, well worth the wait.
Not my favorite theme from X1, but definitely my favorite Maverick of the first bunch. Something about Launch Octopus is just cool to me, idk.
That aside, this is just as good as what I've come to expect from you! And as an aside again, this art is probably the best you've done for a video yet, he looks really imposing there! EDIT: also, hope whatever health issues were plaguing you have passed and that you're doing well!
Maybe It's his tentacles that look so cool? Or maybe because he didn't like humans even way before the Sigma's rebelion? Or maybe his mad artist personality he presents in MHX?
These lyrics make me realize how much personality the Mavericks actually have, And also your art style depicts launch octopus as a threatening and fearsome leader that wants to see how X has improved.
