Basketball is embarrassing this Sooner living in Louisiana. I will be home in Norman for the LSU game. I was already embarrassed in Baton Rouge for football so if they lose in Lloyd Noble to the Tigers I’m flipping my lid.
Didn’t the university of Texas start this about three or four years ago when they had the pancake squad $60,000 to every offense of lineman and that was just a tip of what was going on!!!
Good episode. Going forward, it is a valid concern to wonder how OU is going to compete in the "big 3 sports" vs. several SEC schools that have way more money than OU.
Loyd Noble sucked when I was at school at OU in 88-91. They have even leveled Adam's Tower and Walker Tower is next. Embarrassing. OU should incorporate a new basketball arena near the football stadium with entertainment, restaurants etc.
I think what he means that NIL will have to meet the marketing standard. You won’t be able to give an athlete 1 million dollars for 1 appearance or commercial
@@gincain7988 If his agent or lawyer says he’s worth that then he’ll get it. It’s going to be a ton of law suits. I’m telling you. Watch Gabe even said it the other day.🤷🏾♂️
@ only if a corporation wants to pay that and justify it to the IRS as deductible, believe me I know on that. Things changed when the feds get involved and legislation is passed.
All of these other schools will have to go through the same thing but there will be fines for those schools that do break the rules even if they find loop holes schools will be fined....

I’m really hoping Elijah Thomas is really good and gets run this season or starts. When I watched Sategna he looked above average fast but he was definitely not moving at the speed everyone was saying he had.
Sategna has over 1k all-purpose yards. It’s about the same as Anderson & Anthony combined for their careers, thus far. That’s production I’ll take at this point!!! Is he Waddle, smoking everybody down the field on every play? No. But, he’s still an improvement compared to the production we had.
Just doesn't seem responsible to suggest any administrator put their careers in jeopardy by defrauding the state. Having sketchy financial practices could land someone in considerable legal troubles. One's ethics shouldn't be asked or required to be altered to ensure the succes of the teams at OU. That's like asking you to make up stories or suggest you have intel to make yourself more important to your bosses.
Because by going through the Sooner Club your donations are tax deductible. If I could get a tax deduction then you don’t think that is going to bring in bigger donations then you are so wrong Brandon and Parker. The collectives will eventually be assisting athletes in Lansing true NIL deals, where they are market based and if you violate that then severe consequences will be levied
The NIL rules will only apply to people who donate more than $50,000 to the University. Anyone else can still do deals directly with the athletes, and those deals won't be subject to fair market tests. If you're reading otherwise, ensure the article or post was written after the September 2024 revision.
@ that may be so but businesses are going to be about what am I getting out of it. They will go the tax deductible route way to document and prove. You might have a few Hunter Biden getting hundreds of thousands for finger painting I am sure but I think this is the best way to get on top of it.
Are we that Nieves? Since the beginning all real adults in the room knew this was pay for play. Why are we continue playing the bs plan of thinking this was Name and identity crap. Tired of bs. Get real and recognize that we are paying for play. Training league for pros.
Again do you want to donate a million dollars to a collective for no tax credit or do the Sooner Club for a tax credit. You guys are the ones that don’t get it.
Off season testing ?? Hopefully its offseason gaines and offseason healthy players going into fall camp. BBall not making tourney matches this football team going .500 yearly now. Critical off season for this entire programs staff, recruits, AD, NIL, everything. NIL puts too many cooks in the university kitchen. If 2025 isn't a 9+ win season they need to burn the barn down starting at the top.
Drumm stop with the hyperbolic statements that have little to no evidence! Joe C is not only not the greatest AD ever, he isn’t even among the best of all time, unless your pool is limited to OU. We have 1 count them 1 major sport championship in his tenure, that was 24 years ago and brought in by a coach I’ve heard Joe C didn’t want. He is incredibly overrated. Being at OU does not automatically qualify his as the best or even among the best.
His extension to BV after only the 2nd season was really kind of silly. BV wasn't in danger of going anywhere and all it did was make it more expensive to dismiss him if he fails to bring back the standard to OU football.
I think the AD at Oklahoma fills is all about the logo and that's not the case anymore. I think it's all about the money now. Oklahoma doesn't take a lot of out of state kids and there missing out on that money. the game has changed forever and there no going back so piss our get off the pot
I think sooner nation knows all these recruits are competitors… tell us something we don’t know. Apologies for the negativity but this program can’t compete in the SEC & that’s the most frustrating part… just say it.
Lol gotta love the cry babies who come out to whine about so called hyperbolic statements while they make their own hyperbolic statements You people are ridiculous and still have Riley trauma
Brandon "i talked to somebody today" Drumm 😂😂😂😂
Every pod he has a secret or has talked to someone but he can't say who. These two selling dreams even earlier this year.
My days of following college football are numbered.

You are using 1 single international recruit and then say ALL international players are……solid
Do you thing B you can use a better word than Handler?
Several states have also done thr same Brandon
Greatest athletic Director of all time is not a measurement. A good measurement is navy 21 Oklahoma 20.
The players will be paid with revenue share and NIL will become what it is supposed to be and monitored to make sure NIL is market driven.

Valdin Sone doesn’t have OU on his top 10 list. Come on
How does Porter do it, Loyd Noble is a trash high school gym. Don't expect Porter to bring fans to a joke arena
Seems like yall should have made sure yall knew what all this nil stuff meant before coming and talking about it.

Since this is billion dollar industry for major universities we will never have amateur sports again. Get ready for high school payments soon.
