In your combo you actually had the herald setup available but didn't do it. Since you had ashuna in hand you should have used it from hand to special the shthana, then used Denglong to send chiwen to the grave instead. Then add ashuna back with adhara, then go into your longyuan play.
Met you guys at YCS Philly and played Swordsoul at the event. Logan was awesome for encouraging it. Just ordered myself a German Swordsoul core and got real excited when I pulled out my phone after Rd 2 and saw Denglong come off.
Hilarious profile. This deck is so fun tbh. And denglong coming back gives this deck quite some interesting new lines hehe. Also, shoutout to the speedroid players is greatly appreciated, even if you did call my deck a bunch of vanillas :)
adding taia with emergence instead of moye would have been full combo with herald in opponent's turn (you could even special summon baxia, dump moye and revive to have chaofeng in addition) ^^ love ya

I’m going to try to tweak my SS deck in Master Duel to match this, but I gotta ask… why do we play Pot? I feel bad banishing 10 cards to draw 2. With my luck, I end up banishing pieces that I was trying to dig for initially, lol.

I’m currently looking into Small World as an option everything is a bridge in this deck so it helps get into Adhara etc. I’ve also tried Taotie as the only Yang Zing to summon off Denglong. What you can do is use it to make Dark Material Chaofeng if you link off or synch with Denglong. Or you can leave a token on field to quick synchro with after you pop Deng.

Don't remember who mentioned it, but "Swordsoul" should more accurately be called "Wyrm Synchro" instead seeing as you don't have just Swordsoul in the deck. Instead you've got a mishmash of different Wyrm Archetypes (Yang Zing, Tenyi, and Swordsoul) with a strong emphasis in Synchro monsters. ^Kinda like how some players removed Gren Maju from their decks and renamed the deck "Rank 8 Turbo" (Sad Gren Maju noises). Imperm on Mo Ye. Mo Ye? More like Mo NAH!
Denglong gets you a searchable counter trap, provides you follow up for your next turn, FLOATS on destruction into extension, and level modulates-this card is EVERYTHING the deck needs! I strongly urge you play DENGLONG bc this deck desperately needed it.
