probably my favorite HS school show ever. great arrangements and drill executed fantastically, amazing soloists, the the guard is an absolute spectacle to behold
Very Selfish of me...but I quit marching band because AKA the Crimson Regiment because Trent Newton stop directing it...it broke my heart ... he was the best!!! I remember this performance...I was so tired after this show...it was one of my best life experiences!!!
I watched the event live. Valley View marched into finals in 5th place among a VERY competitive field. Thousand Oaks and Etiwanda did not have the power to match this show. I was very pleasantly surprised to see valley view fight their way to a bronze.
Wow, Thanks Daniel great memory. This year Valley View was smaller then past years. Think we were the smallest in the top 7. We packed a punch though. Came into finals in 5th place, really had a great great show. Prepared us well for the Fiesta Bowl
OMG i have been looking for Crimson Regiment stuff for 10 years! Do you have any more videos from like Winter Guard or anything..?!? I loved Trent Newton, he was the best director ever!!! I played Bass #3 in this show!! Wow, such great memories!
This is my Favorite show. Miss it very much good fun times. This is the last year that i was there my Junior year and the best season ever miss you guys soooo much :(
Maranda H., congratulations on assuming the responsibility of drum major. Enjoy the experience! Cherish the memories with your fellow Crimson Regiment Members.
I really wish I could've been a part of this. This has always been my favorite show the band has done and it doesn't look like there'll be a new favorite coming along any time soon. :/
@OnyxCMB its alright. i would porbly quit band if there was a new teacher.. tren newton is a great band teacher he pushes us! i feel we are gonna get far with his teaching. many people probly quit? right
Anyone know what the ballad played in 1998 is? I have been trying to find the name of it. I still find myself humming it 16 years later without knowing the name of the song lol.
Most of the 1998 show was Sonoran Desert Holiday, except a small portion of Savannah River Holiday, prior to the Closing part of Sonoran Desert Holiday. The ballad is part of Sonoran Desert Holiday.

Wow. I have heard great things about the old Valley View under Newton, but never saw them. What an incredible group, thanks for this video.
