Another wonderful video with yet another beautiful creation.
What amazes me the most is your magical skills with skiving leather. How you blade just glides along and shaves the leather perfectly. I wish I knew how you do it. I can skive, but rarely is it as consistent as you. :)

    • @AtelierSANGBLEU
      @AtelierSANGBLEU  7 дней назад +1

Been a long time! and thanks a lot for your comment as always ;)
Regarding skiving skills, I think there are no fast ways to learn.
The amount of leather I've thrown away by skiving is why I was able to do that by hand skiving.🥹
And maybe we should find the suitable sharpness of the blade on our hands, I tend not to use scary sharp blades.
I prefer in between really sharp/ pretty sharp? blades;)

      @@AtelierSANGBLEU You're very welcome, as it's well deserved. :)
I've worked with knives for years, as I used to be a knife salesman and learned how and why to take care of knives a certain way. I know there are no easy ways of skiving, or everyone would be doing it like you.
And going through a lot of leather to learn how is the only way to do it. My problem isn't sharpness, but consistency in cut angle and so forth. But some of the times when I'm struggling I know it's the leather itself. Some leathers cut easier than others and I'm sure you can confirm this.
What I should probably do is sit down and just skive a bunch of leather. Not just poor quality leather, as an effort to save money, but the leather I will be using. That way, I learn how to cut THAT leather.
I hope you're doing well during this holiday season, regardless of whether or not you observe it.

Amazing work as always! Love how you use your acrylic templates to perfectly place your components, even the glue! Genius! I’ve always wondered what type of tape you use on the edges of your patterns to hold it to the leather? Any I’ve tried leaves adhesive and marks. Keep up the great work!

It was one of the nonstretch reinforcement tapes.
Many European brands are producing those kinds of tapes for the leather works.

We have a plan for purchasable pattern designs & tutorials for the crafters out there in the future,
so plz stay tuned for us to set them up to sell our easy designs for beginners.
If you have any preferred platforms for the video/ pattern shop in mind (Patreon/ Shopify/ or our web)
      Plz let us know.
That would be helpful for us to decide where we start to upload our designs to the other crafters out there.

@@AtelierSANGBLEU Thank you! Etsy or shopify are very user friendly and would allow digital downloads for purchase. Whereas after purchase you can give a downloadable PDF for all the dimensions. I am particularly interested in your wallet/cardholder designs and would be willing to buy some ad-hoc if possible!

I prefer artisans work over factory made any day. Because artisans make products one at a time and better work quality and better materials. artisans go slow make things right the first time.
