Yes, always have a Jerry Can when you're going on trips like that. I've had to cut trips short myself because I didn't bring extra fuel. I enjoyed this video, great area and well filmed! You got a new sub her and I look forward to more of your videos😁
I appreciate that! Love your channel name i wil definitely sub. You’re going to have a great time. Just watch the snow drifts at the top it was insane!
THat bigger creek crossing in Chloride was completely washed out in November when i went there. I had to turn back. Sure wish i could have gotten past it because it is beautiful back there
Great videa, Unfortunately the Forest Service has closed Chloride to vehicular travel until they fix it. After the Black fire there was some major flooding that totally destroyed the road last year. Forest Service is saying maybe next year. I have several videos on Chloride on my channel, it's one of my favorites.
Thank you! I think the first video I ever watched on the canyon was from your channel. It was really rough when we went and I’m not surprised it’s totally washed out from the rain and snow melt.
@@Whitedogoverland we went last year after the fire and flooding to see what was left but we went in from the top. When we reached the bottom in the canyon we decided that it was a bit much for the vehicles with us and knowing that the whole canyon bottom would be just big rocks. Nobody had been through it yet.
Another rad adventure! I like the series, gave us more to look forward to. Hope the name change suits the chanel well, looks like you're steadily gaining subscribers!
I wish I had the ability to do all of that and the friends lol . I was lucky enough to make it to the catwalk parking lot today. I'm from Pennsylvania and come out this way once or twice a year to Chaparral to visit my mom.
The reason I enjoy making these videos is for others like you who don’t always have the privilege to get out as often as myself. There’s definitely a ton of land out this way but I’m pretty jealous of that east coast terrain!
Really good video. I used to be able to run about 85% of Chloride Canyon in 2WD with my built Jeep ZJ, but in May 2022 there was a giant flash flood before the forest fire and now the canyon is a very difficult trip. I ran this trail about 2 weeks before the flash flood. It will be interesting to see if I can run it with my semi-built WJ. Any serious rain above the canyon will cause another flash flood down the canyon and change the difficulty level again.
@@Whitedogoverland I live in the mountains East of Albuquerque. We found out from the Forest Service that Chloride Canyon will be closed to vehicles this year (2023). We are hoping that they change their mind because it is a real fun canyon.
That’s a huge bummer. I’m not surprised with the road conditions and I’m sure all that snow melt didn’t help. Was hoping one day to complete the whole canyon into the gila so hope they reverse that!
I was researching going here in October looks like it's closed through 2024. Here's specifics from the Gila NF "specifically, the section of NFSR 226 (Chloride Canyon Road) between Monument Cabin at coordinates 32’20.573, -107’49.397 and the National Forest Boundary at coordinates 32’20.290, -107’41.663. PURPOSE The purpose of this Order is to protect public health and safety from hazardous road conditions stemming from post-fire flooding."
It’s a bummer it’s closed off but I’m not surprised. After the amount of snow the black range got, I’m sure that road is nearly gone. It’s a really fascinating canyon and I believe they plan to open it after next winter. I was talking to a local lady in membres last month when we hit the western half of the gila and she seemed optimistic
Thank you, I’m sure he was referring to elk. I could certainly see that in the northern ranges as well as Lincoln but there certainly isn’t enough water in New Mexico to support moose
Sick drone footage of elephant butte lake..almost looked like we were on an island.
It really did, would be cool to check out the east side of the lake
I never get tired of seeing all the land that you all have out west!
It sure is a benefit for us off-roaders!
Great series
I live here in NM and it’s so beautiful and a lot of fun places to go off roading. This is the right way to explore it.
Absolutely. Your state is gorgeous!
great footage and trail, we are right behind you coming May, headed to Monticello canyon and surrounding area.
You’re going to have a blast. The black range is fascinating hope you have a good time! Thanks for the comment!

Great series of videos. Headed to the Gila next week.

Man that’s an awesome spot to wake up to in Elephant butte! Do you happen to have the coordinates on that spot? 👌🏼 would be greatly appreciated

@@Whitedogoverland True. I guess I am blessed to be up against the Allegheny National Forest.

Thank you! I was told by the locals that the road in has been totally destroyed by flooding. It was difficult but no problem even in my full size.

How many miles did you drive up the canyon? We hope to head that way soon.
Thank you for sharing.
Got about 5 miles in before we called it for the night. It’s been reopened since the closure. I’ll be headed back this spring!
@@Whitedogoverland Thank you for your reply.
I had to go back and listen twice to make sure I heard “moose.” I guarantee there are NO moose in Cibola.
Man some old man told me a couple years back there were. After seeing the terrain I was certain there wasn’t haha
He may have gotten confused with elk. Great video anyways.

Yeah, there’s definitely moose in Cibola, I saw one earlier this year
No kidding??
Let me know if you do some in Tucson
Most definitely will!
Keep your eyes out for meteorites 👌
Now that would be a score! Is that pretty common in gila?
My personal opinion is you can find meteoritet anywhere you just got keep your eyes open;)
Keep a magnet with you and do a little research on meteorites to identify them;)
Oh yeah and Arizona is real big on meteorites 👌
May I have the cords or routes to these spots bro I’d really
Appreciate it
