In this video, I will be giving you a guided tour of the MAERSK Ship. All the merchant navy aspirants going to join the life at sea will benefit a lot from this video, since the general layout of Cargo ships is more or less the same.
The best part of sailing on these ships is the massive ships are the entertainment systems onboard. On this particular vessel we have PlayStation, Nintendo WII, Dayrooms full of board games & last but not the least a full fledged cinema hall.
The GYM is a place which is close to my heart & the ship has a well equipped gym with sophisticated modern day machineries. For sports we have a Table Tennis room, a small Basketball court and a punching bag.
Merchant navy has various departments & I am from the Navigation department. I have recently been promoted to the rank of a 2nd Officer onboard Maersk Ship.

@@shorts__1111 There is hell and heaven difference between Indian Navy ship and marchent ship. Sailing in Marchent ship is comfortable compared to Navy Ships, because these marchent ship are heavyweight.
Due to national security reasons photography and videography is totally restricted in Indian Navy Ships and ofcourse it should be.

Everything seems a bit smaller and narrower than the bigger ships, but still very nice. Is that open deck always available to do sports on, or does it sometimes have containers on it? The crew seems really nice as well. Are things more relaxed (no uniforms?) on this ship than on other ships? Take care and be safe! How much longer until you will be going home? :) ❤️

Like you said one learns to enjoy the little things on sea. People tend to enjoy less and pretend to enjoy more these days but on sea the simple vast stretch of water and the silence of nature can humble anyone.

@@dannyfeller7034 I know. There are also many terrible accidents and environmental disasters with shipping. But sometimes it's good to say something nice. These men deserve positivity!
@@s.n.6558 I am one of these men but have the misfortune of coming from a country where the cost of living is higher and therefore to work for the wages they offer would mean minimum wage near enough for even a deck officer.
Further to that, if you look at Maersk official communication, they actually said they were cancelling taking on UK cadets as an example in favour of Indian cadets as they cost less. It is the kind of discrimination that would never be acceptable ashore yet they get away with it at sea.

Another fascinating look into the life of merchant seamen and entertainment on board. I have just a little question for you Karanvir....what is your schedule at sea like in terms of working days vs down time? My impression is that you have very long hours and not much time for leisure activities as you're an officer. The ship has really good entertainment equipment on board but how does that compare to other say bigger ships in the fleet? Anyhow, fabulous video once again! I wish you well and safe how ya go bro.
on port if no extra work 6-12 morning 6-12 night shift with extra work if needed. In sea 4-8 morning and 4-8 evening watch with in between extra is there is any.

Can you share information related to Engineering graduates especially Electrical/Mechanical graduates has the opportunities to work in a ship and courses and certifications help them to achieve this kind of an adventure job.
Okay! A few questions:
1) how do I land this job ( as a girl, I hope we are allowed to sail right!)? And average salary?
2) What is the average time you spend on a ship?
3) How the hell do you get access to the internet in the middle of an ocean?
4) Once you reach the destination (A to B) and you have got to B, how do you get back to A? Do you get to stay at B as much time you want and then return by flight back to A of course by your own money, or does the company pay you to get back or do you have to sail another ship?
5) Do you need a visa to get inside a country from their port?
