STELLER'S JAYS... AND A PINT JAR OF PEANUTS

  • We have a 'scold' of Steller's jays visiting and feeding them unsalted peanuts amuses me. Yesterday I wondered just how curious and bold these birds really are. Cue in the widemouth, pint size, Ball canning jar! 40 minutes of raw footage with all the blank parts taken out. It's also under our wind chimes.
    There is a California scrub jay towards the end of this video that freely comes into our greenhouse and eats peanuts right out of the bag (where no Steller's will go)... but likes to take food from the Steller's, apparently, just for the fun of it...
