    Looking good! I just built a 9" for my 70 Camaro. Wilwood makes a band clamp that worked nice on the axle tube for the connection between the flex line and the hard line. I made a couple brackets that fit under the third member bolts at 10 and 2 oclock to hold the hard line and put my tee under the top bolt.

      Thanks. I actually have a later video where I show that the exhaust guy didn't like my bracket and just disconnected it without telling me. Needless to say, my rear brakes started leaking.

    I still dont understand why these aftermarket companies build the axle shafts with hub pilots that are too short. They won't engage the wheels properly. Have the same issue with my moser axles. Lug centric is Not an acceptable way to center wheels and carry the load.

      I agree

      @lilpoindexter after all this time I've come to the conclusion it's because they don't want to take the time and money needed to find out what the stock diameter is of the hub pilot on every major manufacturers vehicles are. Like a 5th gen camaro for example is 66.9MM. They rather use one size for all to save money at the cost of people's safety and of course frustration.

      Do you mean for the brake lines? I got them from QuickPerformance here www.quickperformance.com/Universal-Brake-Line-Clamp_p_21551.html.

    Great video! Just my 2 cents i would rerun your brake like going back to the rear,you typically want nothing ran in the tunnel incase the driveshaft ever comes apart.

      Thanks. That brake line routing is actually the stock location on the Mustang. She's pretty much a street car with an occasional pass at the drag strip, so I'm not too concerned about the driveline coming apart.

    Great job. do you know the brake kit part number?

    • @pwkgerard
      @pwkgerard  9 месяцев назад

      No. It was all part of the kit. I know they are GM brakes, but that's about all. I'm a little worried when I have to go get new brake pads. 😄

    How quiet is the rear end?

    • @pwkgerard
      @pwkgerard  7 месяцев назад +1

      Because of the 408w, 3 inch exhaust, and all the squeaks and rattles, I couldn't tell you. It must be fairly quiet because it doesn't contribute to all the other noise in the car. haha

    What did you do to your shocks for clearance.. relocate?

    • @pwkgerard
      @pwkgerard  Год назад

      I didn't have to change anything on my shocks. The 9 inch just bolted in for my 68 Mustang, with the exception of the U-bolts and mounting plates that I had to purchase.

    Stupid question time lol. What’s the fitting for on top of the housing on the axle shaft?

    • @pwkgerard
      @pwkgerard  Год назад +1

      That's actually to vent the rear end. On Mustangs, there is a rubber hose that connects to it from the body of the car.

      They are 31 spline. I highly recommend QuickPerformance for rear ends. Great product and service.
