- This video is long overdue.
To all those in the comments pointing out my hypocrisy related to the fifer taboo: The fifers harmed on screen had all either attacked me or offended me. All except for the one in the rifleman video; that was just too tempting to pass up.
To countrygirl354 and badkitty9222, no I have not forgotten my promise. The next video will be about robbing the bank in Rocitizens.

@@eendjesman9723 I have to agree a officer can be usefull by showing where to aim and when to fire saveing us time to aim and fire and reload knowing a officer is telling where to shoot. The best combo for me is 2 rifle or infantry 1 saper 1 officer and 2 cannon crew making a team of 6 to keep the cannon well protected and if a sapper makes a base around the cannon it can be used as a point for you to fall back to

Also: You can load the cannon by the end of the muzzle that points towards you, just click on the hatch thing and you can load it from there.

Every time I play this game, I will always find that one artillery guy who tries to snipe with canister while he fails at it. I did find some actually smart people who could fire a canister across the map and manages to reach our base.
yeah but on the map riverside using round shot across the bridge is better than trying to snipe with canister.
I always use the roundshot as a sniper shot, the amount of times I've hit the artillery or other team's sapper is just funny.

I actually sniped two guys with a Roundshot. One was moving (nice), and the other was reloading. The one reloading was the last member standing so I effectively ended the round and won for us.
@@blainecountysherrif4542 roundshot is good for picking off reloading people, because it’s deadly accurate. Can’t believe you sniped a moving guy lol.
Reminder that roundshot is effective as both an anti artillerymen weapon and a anti structural weapon, if you're playing on a map like riverside crossing where the distances between the two bases are immense, then using roundshot is the best option as canister shot is not as condensed as it was in blood and iron legacy and loses its effectiveness at range. Using roundshot to knock out the enemy artillery crew is also a goal of every artillerymen, stopping the enemy artillery supports your friends on the field immensely, it is sure to gain more praise for killing the enemy artillery rather then shooting canister from +1000 studs away. You can also use roundshot to destroy structures, this is important on any map in where the cannon has direct view of an enemies spawn base or built base, it is not recommended to fire canister at their built fortifications as said before, the distance will make it near impossible to hit anything, it is much better to grab some roundshot and smash select objects, like the massive chevaux de fris or barricades which compromise the enemies base and open opportunities for your team to get some shots in, rather then using canister at such a distance and scoring no kills and damaging none of the enemies structures. Being an artillerymen doesn't mean you're going to be the great hammer that smashes the enemy, as seen in the video you're mostly going to be a support role with a bit more hit then the Officer or musician, you shouldn't only be looking to kill the enemy but also looking for structures to destroy, artillerymen to silence, and cavalry to de-horse. With that said, I wish you good luck artillerymen of Blood and Iron, may you not get stabbed in the back by that one cheeky hussar your team forgot to intercept because they were too busy building a base no one is going to use rather then protecting the most vulnerable part of the artillerymen, his unturned back.

Here simple version of what the said: use roundshot for enemy artillery and structures especially in riverside crossing and he didn’t said anything good about canisters.

Attention players! Just a quick story that happened when I was playing B&I (I will exaggerate)
It was a dark day, we were on the Russian team on the Road To Smolensk, we fought the polish cavalry, I quickly rammed in a canister, aiming at the Skirmisher Rifles, firing as they all went down. I saw a musket man in the trees aiming a shot at me, I quickly ducked as it hit the loader, one by one, we fought hard, I was damaged until I was yellow, there were two Sappers left, they were both yellow, they were hunting me down, I ventured off into the enemy base, my team was rooting for me in the chat, the enemy team as well! One even said "If we clutches this, he has my respect." So off I went, just my sword and health, then, they were behind me "BEHIND YOU!" A teammate shouted in the chat, I quickly responded, there they were, coming right for me, I quickly calculated how to defeat them, and I knew exactly how:
I went to the nearest sapper, weakened him with my swords range, stabbing him in the front, his axe was coming for me, I prepared another hit, and he swung his axe at me, I quickly dodged left, and I slashed him in the back, no breath, dead.
The other came at me, he lowered my health to the last bit, we both did, I went to the right, dodging his last shot, and finished it with one decisive blow,
"OH MY GOD HE DID IT!"
"HE HAS EARNED MY RESPECT!"
"WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"
Everybody cheered for me, and I was known in that server.... The God of Artillery
And there you have it folks! A lesson learned: never underestimate the Artillery's Power
What a great story, I am giving you a like, I love those types of moments in B&I, you feel like a true hero.

@@ThatAviationGamer lol, as a B&I Veteran, it really annoyes me when a noob tries to pistol snipe anybody, I can't even understand they're logic when they decide to snipe someone away from 70 studs when the pistol does lethal damage at around 20 and under(Could be wrong, I haven't played in a couple months)
@@misterrickroll9428 well, have you ever encountered a player that almost always manages to do a pistol snipe like 100 studs away. Maybe a 85% chance to hit the person, in the head, with a pistol. AND whenever they did a snipe, the spam “OMG” and proceeds to brag. I only played B&I for 1 year. And in all that time, I have never encountered that person, until today.

You forgot the tip of, RELOAD BEHIND THE DANG CANNON! Just crouch down near the seat upfront and click the bell looking thing st the back boom reloaded and/or cleaned while behind cover.

Grapeshot and Canister shot are not the same thing., they cannot be used interchangeably like you did in the video (you said canister shot first, then grapeshot afterwards)
Grapeshot is indeed what you said it is, but Blood and Iron has Canister shot, not Grapeshot.
Canister shot contains smaller metal balls, closer in size to musket balls, rather than the larger, cue-ball sized grapeshot.
As a bit of a fun fact, artillery crews tended to be teams of like 5 or 6 men. Rammer, Swabber (he sticks a sponge on a stick or a Worm stick in the cannon after it fires to kill any Embers left in the barrel after firing), Loader, Aimer, and Primer (probably not their official names but I wouldn't know them ether.), who also fires the cannon depending on the Era in question, otherwise you have a separate guy with yet another long stick with a lit match rope tied to it to fire the cannon.
But in a pinch 2 or 3 people can operate a cannon effectively. One aims and fires the cannon, one loads round and the other uses both rods to load and clean the cannon.
I always wondered what the sponge guy was fire, I assumed it was to keep the weapon at a reasonable temperature
@@SkitGaming Good guess, but not quite. Operating a Cannon was quite the process back in the day. At least these cannons have the luxury of a ammo box, i seem to recall they would take the powder bags out of leather satchel and the loader would cradle in their arms (ya know so it didn't get SHOT) as they moved to muzzle.
But yeah, Blood and Iron does the process justice, all be it simple enough for 2 people to do it. As for the whole process:
1. Load powder charge, 2. ram it down the barrel, 3. Load Shot (whatever ammo your loading), 4. Ram it down, 5. Aim the cannon as best you can, 6. Prime the Powder bag by inserting a vent prick into that little hole on top of the cannon, 7. then cover your ears and drop the match stick on the Vent hole (Later ears you would just pull the string on the vent prick, Percussion Caps i guess?), 8. insert the Sponge into the barrel which crates a vacuum to extinguish any embers, 9. insert the Worm stick (it looks like a cork screw) to make extra sure you got them all. 10. Repeat steps 1 though 9.
Wanted to add that on maps like La Rotheire Fields, where there are multiple cannons, doing a volley canister fire at an enemy base is incredibly effective. Since there are 3 cannons all aimed at the base, chances of hitting something increase incredibly high and can make for incredible quick wins

If you're using round shot, try to aim in front of the target so the round shot bounces. it has higher chance to hit

You don’t have to load it from the front, you can actually click on the back of the barrel and it will load. Loading it from the front is sending an invitation for your own death to the enemy
Use round shot for far range And killing horses. Use canister for close range
and when much enemies in open area
Horses are quick and the cannon is slow so you need them to be near and use canister
I’ve been shot in the face from far away by a Round Shot before and it is dang terrifying cause you can see a small round black ball coming straight at your face and you will be like “Oh Shit”.

So this is a good idea, use canister or grap shot for bombarding, shoot at their base and fire, you need 2 guys on each cannon and spikes in front of the cann on for cavalry attacks and use barracdes for more cover.

The canister is my favorite, and thank you for the tip last 2 months i was playing blood and iron i pick the altillery and its awsome but i dont know how to clean the cannon before u fire thx for the tip
AND SAPPERS protect your cannoneers. They’re the only forces who can use the cannon, so build spikes and trenches around cannoneers.
Skit, there is a glitch that you can reload from the back if you click on the handle thing.

I din't find videos that tell me how to know where to shoot other side of the a hill everyone says only pros.
You can also become officer, which I think it is better because it allows you all the officer perks including pistol and allowing and allowing you to shoot....but you cannot reload as Skit said there would be a loader.
At least we have to fight like tanks.

Artillery takes alot of skill to know what you are doing and how to use it as new players who use artillery tend to charge. Most artillery I see always get killed when using cannon as they are slow and die when an enemy approaches them.
Attention artillery players!
I have a trick to easily reload your cannon:
Step One: Get your rammer and shot (either canister or round), equip your rammer (item no. 2 in blood and iron as a ranker)
Step Two: Walk to the seat of artillery, don't press E yet! Walk behind the left (or right, doesn't matter) wheel!
Step three: Click on the handle (the thing with a circle in the very back of the barrel where the seat is near to), with your type of shot (again, canister or round) to load it!
Step Four: Finish the process by fully loading it in!
PS: this was only for the beginning of the round! If you fire after, repeat the original process in where you did it!

It depends. If you're a camper become a sap.
If you're an idiot who thinks you can snipe people with a pistol become an officer.
If you wanna be bait become a musician.
If you're a sharpshooter become a rifleman or any type of Skirmisher.
If you like doing line battle become line infantry.
If you like to gamble become a partisan.
If you're highly patriotic about the country you're fighting for become a Colour Bearer.
If you like charging become cavalry.
And finally if you like big guns become Artillery

actually sappers, musician and officer are good classes, they support their team while building, playing music, giving directives and using spyglass to see about the situation respectively. These classes also give buffs.
