If you think about it jr went through every baki did in a faster time but couldn't handle it. It shows a good example between a fighter who's willing to kill or die and one who's not
The better way to display it would have been having Ali Jr. and Baki go punch for punch, until Jr. goes for a dirty punch. Then Baki could have been like, "Oh, so now we're fighting to the death?" And then finish the fight as he did.
It could have shown exactly that Ali Jr. was a great combat sport athlete but not at all a fighter.

And then later the writer backtracks about the whole "willing to kill or die" in the Musashi arc
It makes sense for Jack and Baki to have the killer instinct, as that will be the only way to defeat Yujiro.
Ali Jr. found out the hard way the difference between fighting men who want to be the best. And men who will die before accepting defeat.
But they did Ali Jr. so dirty just to protect the older men.

Ali Jr fights were the coolest and slickest moves in the series.
His fights are very entertaining that's why i keep coming back to them. I was really hoping they'd make him into a permanent character. His speed and technique are 💯

Honestly, I don't know. For example, Judo guy is just there, barely relevant at all. At least Doppo actually said something sometimes, but nah he's also a side dish at best.
Hanayama's whole thing with his super grip is now replaced by some random sumo guy who just comes like he own the place, and I don't think these things ever become relevant.
Retsu's story is fine, especially since the one he's fighting is Musashi, but I am admittedly still pretty pissed at what the author did to Oliva.

It's so annoying that they ruined him just to hype up Baki. I loved him during raitai and he had one of the most badass fights. But then he started simping over kozue and took L after L until he got absolutely destroyed by Baki. At least give him a cooler fight against hin
Ali jr was suppose to be baki if he had let his arrogance go to his head . Baki strives and knows he can be the strongest man alive however his dad has showed him time and time again how high that level of power his, always confirming how weak he is compared to his father and grandpa while Ali Jr beat his father who was the best around while in his early adulthood so he got arrogant, cocky and somewhat lazy but worst of all, he picked up bad tendencies like kill without being killed and being a womaniser (trying to get with kozue)

My favorite character by a long shot. So fucking cool, im a martial artist and boxing is my primary art. Very interesting to see this character take the same path, boxing is so powerful.

While it is countered by grappling, it is so that a kicker (TKD, kickboxing or Muay Thai) would find difficult to face a boxer as much as vice versa. No martial art or combat sport on earth focuses on evasion and dodging as much as boxing does, and nothing hits quicker for it’s devastation than a punch. Boxing is not perfect, no art is, but it is one of the best

@@lordmoncef5494 Grappling, because of the way the rules are set up grappling is the metagame. Not because grappling has any actual advantage over striking though as far as I can tell I admit it just is under UFC rules.

This character's arc was one of the most wtf moments in writing for me. There is no reason one character should have undergone so much physical trauma and have absolutely nothing come from it. What should have happened is very simple. Ali should have won all of those fights with little to high difficulty. He should have been so good that even us as the audience should doubt that Baki would win. What we got was the walking L that was Ali Jr. He fought people with injuries that would have made most people bed ridden for the rest of their lives and it didn't get better. I guess he was fully healed for his fight and was one shot by Baki. I was left wondering why I allowed myself to get excited for this piece of shit story. The fight wasn't satisfying. The entire Arc was off-putting and simply backwards to what it should've been. I have watched Baki purely for entertainment purposes as it never made that much sense, but I actually cannot let this slide. This is the dumbest thing I have seen in anime and I have watched the entirety of Fairy Tail. One of the anime/manga of all time.
baki has been pissing me off from the start. the old anime was so bad that i resorted to watching it at 2x speed. when you do that, you realize that the only thing this anime has going for it, the constant fights, are SO BAD holy shit. then i thought baki 2018 was decent. must have been because it had the good characters in it, and not baki. anyway, not A tier, but good. then the raikai tournament was absolute trash. baki felt like an inflatable doll (more so than ever, what an empty character holy shit), they hyped up the chinese only to disrespect the fuck out of them right away (as expected from this crap author), and then they even ruined yujiro by completely replacing him with a faker with a completely different personality.
now this "new season" (the one in the video, i'm right at the point the fight with baki is confirmed) is back to being so shit that i want to stop watching it. i will not recommend this anime to anyone. if they ask me, i'll just tell them to watch hajime no ippo again, they'll have more fun and a more grounded anime with some actual stuff you can learn to boot.

Everyone says the author ruined Ali Jr. as a character. However I think his character arc went as expected. He is basically a spoiled child of a celebrity. Sure he is strong but he does not have a real concrete goal other than be the son of a famous boxer and copy his father.
The whole point of Baki is that most of the good fighters do it because they want to be strong or they do it because they have a moral code.
Jr. however only wants to show off and prove a majority of others are beneath him.
And the fact he still didn't learn after getting immediately beat down by Baki. His father stopped the fight because he knew his son was too stubborn, prideful, and arrogant to admit defeat. The 5 prisioners had the exact same problem and look at where they ended up in the end.
Yujiro respected his father because he had a goals to just be strong beyond boxing and humility.

Why Muhammad Ali have to have the spoiled child? That role could've been anybody, that could've been an actual fictional character rather than a real one.
