    Good stuff👌🏽 Just adding to this, vinegar can be used to dissolve salts from carpet as well. Ice Melt, dry pet urine, etc..

    Thanks, I was interested in knowing more about Vinegar. I have washed 1 load of Laundry in Ammonia only as my detergent. The smell was short term in a tumble machine in the Laundromat. I noticed the clothes felt softer & clean. My co-worker said to be careful that the Ammonia will clean the Laundry Mat machine freeing up the gunky gunk to invade my load. That was a good tip, & you said it depletes the color dye as well. I just want to try a few more loads & try adding some Borax as well. Party,party.

    What would be really Value and will help new guys like me is to watch again your method how you mix and use your chemicals. Just like the video that was removed from your channel. I came across it ones and when I tried to watch it again was gone

    Shouldn't you scrub the carpet with a rotary scrubber and carpet shampoo and then rinse with a carpet extractor containing water and some vinegar? Would the slightly acidic water help neutralize any shampoo residue?

    Wouldn't vinegar help when I am on the rinse phase of cleaning with my carpet cleaner?

      Yes, it does 💯

      It will help in the sense that it will reduce the alkalinity, but it absolutely won't help the cleaning process. It's not an emulsifier or a rinsing aid. Also the products they come with are usually neutral anyway so vinegar is redundant

    I think vinegar destroys rubber seals on the machine eventually, not sure how they do with a base?

    Hi Cory, is there a natural approach to cleaning carpet? I have a 5 year old who is always sitting/kneeling on carpet. I realize that vacuum cleaner suction can't remove most of chemicals laid down during cleaning process. I am wondering if I could just give it a shot with using hot water?

    Upholstery guy here. Do you have thoughts on a order eliminator? I get sofas smoked, peed and just years of grim smell on. Thank you for the tip mixing solvent with vinegar. Instead of premixing both I now spay separately. If you go to the "pro shop" and pickup a bottle of "odor eliminator" its $30. Read the back and its mainly alcohol. Vinegar is also a fermented but only cost around $1 a bottle. It takes a few days for the smell to dissipate but works well to rid the odor and not just mask it. Anyone have some recommendations or luck with a different product?

    • @CarpetMuscleTV
      @CarpetMuscleTV  Год назад +1

      I am not following the solvent and vinegar comment. You possibly misunderstood something. I use chlorine dioxide for odor. Best I have found yet. I have several thousand videos here. I have spoken about it before in a vital oxide video if you want to search for it

    So is a little ammonia added to dawn and hydrogen peroxide a good carpet cleaning solution when mixed with hot water?

    • @CarpetMuscleTV
      @CarpetMuscleTV  25 дней назад +1

      @@abovethewaves452 the water doesn’t need to be heated. Dawn and peroxide in a solution of soft water work extremely well. You add ammonia if a boost is needed. I typically use calgon liquid water softener as well.
