Yes, top n bottom. No fringe I absolutely adore the one legged table,,and with Terry's stamp of approval we know it must be spot on! Can not wait for Sunday reveal😊❤
The salon is gorgeous now but can hardly wait for Sunday to see it completed. The simple piping around the top and bottom of the lamp shade. Just remember, less is more. Don't over do the gold. You have done such a lovely job decorating the Chateau.
Definitely trim the lampshades with the gold braid on the top and bottom. such a great look, leave the boning as is. What an amazing pair you too are. Can't wait for Sunday's big reveal!!
I think I prefer the braiding as trim for your lamp. I think definitely it will look better with it! You guys have done a fantastic job! Can’t wait for Sunday!
The gold trim at the top and bottom of the lamp shade is perfect. I wish I could have seen more of that beautiful dress Carole was wearing. Adrian, you are one charming, funny guy. You always make me smile. Thanks and see you Sunday!
I think adding the trim is the perfect answer to that shade dilemma. I've done a shaggy trim addition to a shade much like yours. It was easy to do and made a difference to the marriage of shade to lamp.
Carole and Adrian, y'all are such hard working and detail oriented people! Making sure the trim matches the rest of the floor, changing all the old brass pins on the crystals, there are just too many examples! Y'all inspire me so much! Thanks for sharing your journey with us. Well done to you both!
Option one top and bottom would look very nice. I think the tassels would be a little bit too much. You have put so much thought into every detail of the room. Thank you for sharing the process. It is inspiring.
I love the new table! It’s perfect for that space. As for the lamp shades, the single braid placed top and bottom is my choice over plain or tassels. We love watching your channel!
I think the lamp shades look lovely without any trim as they are now - they are simple but compatible and let the lamb base sparkle when the light is on! - But I’m sure whatever you decide will look great - your room is a masterpiece :)
Great vlog! Regarding the lamp, definitely use the braid both top and bottom. The fringe overwhelms the lamp. Can't wait for Sunday's reveal. The incredible work you've both done on the salon is amazing. Happy Easter! 🐰🎀🐰
Of course you have picked a perfect option for finishing off the lamp shades - you have an incredible eye for detail! You might try hanging some crystals along the bottom of the gold edging to reflect the glass lamp, sconces and chandelier. Without testing it, I cannot see if it is over-kill garish or complementary. Like you with your gold, I have a penchant for the crystals
Definitely top and bottom with out tassels! You have tassels as a finishing touch on the drapes and they are beautiful, however on your lampshades it's too much.
I love the gold braid top and bottom. While I love the tassels on the curtains on the lamp it makes it look more Victorian in style. You’ve done an amazing job and this is my favorite RUclips show.
How thrilling to see my crocheted gift to you in your video!!! If you would like the version I sent to Terry, I would be happy to make you one like his as well! His should arrive at his chateau this week! Tell him to send you a photo of it when it arrives!

Thank you again and I’m sure I’ll see Terrys soon.
I truly cannot wait for Sunday!!!! I have been on this salon journey with you from the very start and I am waiting with anticipation. BTW I love your idea with the braiding on the lampshade top and bottom ❤
Love the side table just adorable. The side table did u use two coats of red? After u painted it gold, Did u gold leaf it as well? OMG, the sconces came out beautiful! They are so perfect! It's all coming together, Quite lovely!❤

I sanded, primed, 2 coats of red, gold spray and then touches if gold leaf, that have yet to be filmed
Carole, you and Adrian have such marvelous attention to detail it just boggles my mind. The salon is gorgeous and you haven’t even gotten the furniture placed in it yet. Love your channel…your progress in the months since you began the restoration is breathtaking. Hats off from PA, USA.
Really enjoy watching your progress in this beautiful room. You both are just so very talented in all of the many varied jobs that you have had to complete! I think that the trim top and bottom is best, no tassels for me! Looking forward to your Sunday reveal!
I wouldn't miss that reveal for all the tea in China! Can't wait! Much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸💖 PS option 1, it needs color on the top and bottom.
regarding the lampshade, I vote for option #1 darker gold braid around the top and the bottom. The bright gold fringe would be too much. Can't wait until Sunday!
I like the lamp shade with the edging, on the top and bottom of the shade. However, if you are doing finial, I would wait to add the trim, until you have the finial, as the color of the trim may clash, with the color of the finial.
These brocantes need to pay Terry a commission for all the things he talks you into! The braid top and bottom would look awesome on the lamp. Or the tassels at bottom but they might distract from noticing the cut crystal. Looking forward to the final reveal.
Os está quedando precioso!!!. La lámpara, para mi gusto, queda mejor con la tira sencilla arriba y abajo. Estais haciendo un trabajo increible. Mucho ánimo y adelante.
Hi Carol & Adrian, love the one legged table,it would be lovely to have a matching table for the opposite side of the salon! Think you know what I’m going to say Carol,I love the tassels around the lamp 😊 I bought flickering candles in Brisbane! They’re not the very expensive ones, that move, these flicker inside & much more affordable & look authentic! Take care 🥰💕
Carole & Adrian, I've been watching intently for awhile now. Everything you both do is masterful! Can't wait for the Salon reveal. I had a thought, a possible 3rd option for the table lamp...braid around the top & tassels on the bottom🤔.
Tassels at the bottom, braid on top of that beautiful, beautiful lamp …That decorative one legged table is a little gem. You guys … You both amaze me so much. That room will be ..ahhh! so breathtaking, fantastically wonderful. Like a jewelry box for Easter… Take care Carole and Arian. Happy Easter with all of your loved ones 🐰🐣🌷
My late father's family business was Interior House Furnishers, specialising in reupholstering & recovering period pieces. Chairs, lampshades etc. I spent many a summer holiday helping out in the retail shop, workroom or Grandpa's workshop. Grandpa worked on the chairs doing the upholstery and Nana with her sister, Aunt Edna, making curtains and recovering lampshades. The plain gimp would go around the top with the fine fringe/tasteless fringe going around the bottom of the lampshades. Having the fringe/tassels at the bottom casts lovely shadows against the wall when the lamp is on.
Add my vote for gold braid on top and bottom. I’m so glad Carole thought to add trim because the lamp “reads” as quite modern / 1950s to me. ps - table is looking wonderful!
I agree!! One leg is such a success because of the great sanding exercise. I would've been tempted leaving it in wood finish with that gorgeous darlk and light bits after sanding. Sprayed it also looks good. Great job.
Love watching your progress, but fear you are falling into the matchy matchy decorating trap. If everything is going to be gold and cream it won't be interesting or imaginative. The key to a good room is to tastefully mix and match contrasting but harmonious pieces, not just things that exactly match. Stephanie of The Chateau Diaries has a playlist of Chateau tours that could help expand your ideas. This was one of my favorites: ruclips.net/video/fmacfpqRpIQ/видео.html
In my opinion, the best look was the gold braid around top and bottom.👍 I didn't mind the tassels, but it verges on too much. And in that room, that's saying a lot.👎 But I do slso say, go big or go home. Without the treatment, they look like you bought them at Target for $30 each.👎
Greetings! The excitement of your big reveal is building 🎉 Adrian's choice of the gold trim on top & bottom of lamp shade is on point...in my opinion. I can hardly wait to see it all on Sunday. Cheers! 🥂
Absolutely breathtaking! I can't wait for the big reveal. As for the lampshade, the tassels are too much, the braid around the top and bottom look the best. Even just around the bottom is nice. I like the one-legged table made gold but I'm not sure I like the tabletop gold also. Too late though, you already have it prepped. It would have been wonderful if you had found a match to the one-legged table. Sigh. Best wishes to the two of you.
Gorgeous! I don't know much about gold leaf but I have had experience with gold paint before and over time it looked grungy....sure hope that doesn't happen in your lovely home. Sorry to be a downer. You obviously know more about gold than I do! Can't wait to see the reveal on Sunday!
Tassels would work better if the lamp base was without design. The braid works well with the design of the lamp. Top and bottom. Adding it along the vertical sides may be too much. I am looking forward to your total reveal. You've both done great work!
Carol. Yes for top and bottom of the lampshade. It is way too plain for that room without it you might also try to make a stencil of the wallpaper and spray paint it onto the shade. Very faint mock-up of the wallpaper would look fabulous. Just a thought. But looks great everything you 2 have done. Always enjoy the videos.
Amazing work and like many here can't wait for the great reveal. Lampshade definitely needs the gold on top & bottom - my family had a lampshade business years ago and trust me plain is boring and the trims make them exquisite .... I like the tassels as it would tie in with the curtains cheers Debz from Oz
Hello Adrian and Carole - I like hubby's idea of trim on both the top and the bottom of the plain white lampshade:) But no tassels - that's going overboard:(
Carole, l have been trying to find your video where you used some putty-like blue product to make molds of the ornamentation… over the huge mirror in Salon, please can you give the name or a link to that, as I want to use it in my house Victorian for repairs? Love what you two are doing !! Your skills and ingenuity are amazing!!
Lampshade: Please use the first gold braid that you tried. The tassels, while attractive, are a bit much with the existing decor. Just my humble opinion.
On the lampshades just the braiding no tassels just my opinion or some Victorian lamp shades would be gorgeous. I used to have a gift shop & a lady made lampshades I sold in my shop I still have some of the shades I bought for myself as I have Country Victorian house decor, I know sounds a bit much but my house my choice lol.
Can't wait for the big reveal. The table looks great! Well done on the colour choice. I like the gold trim on the shade - option 1 to top and bottom. Lamp is lovely.
Option 1 for the lampshades - top and bottom. NO TASSLES!
I agree, braiding top+bottom, no tussles. Can't wait for Sunday's reveal🎉
I agree as well 👍🏻 prefer op 1
Yes I agree
Yes top and bottom will be perfect 👌 looking forward to Sunday. ❤️From the Jones family xx
Yes, top n bottom. No fringe
I absolutely adore the one legged table,,and with Terry's stamp of approval we know it must be spot on!

Thank you 😊
I think I prefer the braiding as trim for your lamp. I think definitely it will look better with it! You guys have done a fantastic job! Can’t wait for Sunday!
I think the gold braid is excellent. You folks have done such a lovely job on everything. Congratulations on your chateau well done!
Thank you so much!
I think the braided trim on your lamp shades would be lovely by itself. Tassels draw the attention away from the beautiful walls.
I agree completely. The tassels would also be too matchy matchy.
NO TASSELS. The piping is just right.
I like the trim top and bottom on the lamp shade better than the tassels. Great job guys! Can't wait to see the reveal.
Us too!
The gold trim at the top and bottom of the lamp shade is perfect. I wish I could have seen more of that beautiful dress Carole was wearing. Adrian, you are one charming, funny guy. You always make me smile. Thanks and see you Sunday!
Yes c u Sunday!
I think adding the trim is the perfect answer to that shade dilemma. I've done a shaggy trim addition to a shade much like yours. It was easy to do and made a difference to the marriage of shade to lamp.
It’s remarkable how far this place have come. I went back and watched some of the original videos. Can’t wait for the kitchen Reno.
I think the hallway will be next on the list!
@ I was hoping you'd say that x
Carole and Adrian, y'all are such hard working and detail oriented people! Making sure the trim matches the rest of the floor, changing all the old brass pins on the crystals, there are just too many examples! Y'all inspire me so much! Thanks for sharing your journey with us. Well done to you both!
Such great attention to a million little details add up to elegance in your talented hands. PS Top & Bottom braid on the shades. Perfect.
Thanks so much!
I’m so looking forward to seeing the room all dressed and finished!
Esto es un trabajo de restauración ejemplar ❤ me sorprende, no sé dónde aprendieron a hacer esta clase de trabajo.
Option one top and bottom would look very nice. I think the tassels would be a little bit too much. You have put so much thought into every detail of the room. Thank you for sharing the process. It is inspiring.
I think this room is absolutely beautiful. Carole, you both are truly artisans. I cannot wait for the big reveal.
Great to see Terry with Carol and Adrian!!!!! IWe love all you guys
I love the new table! It’s perfect for that space. As for the lamp shades, the single braid placed top and bottom is my choice over plain or tassels. We love watching your channel!

Thank you! You too!
Looking forward to Sunday!! 👍✨🙂
Love the little table. 💫
My vote is yes, to the trim on the shade.
Of course you have picked a perfect option for finishing off the lamp shades - you have an incredible eye for detail! Top and bottom! It really makes the wallpaper pop 🎉 ,and compliments the base if the lamp.
I like the trim on the top and bottom of the lampshades! It goes with trim on walls.❤
The Sconces on the fireplace wall are absolutely stunning. Yes to trim on lampshade
I truly cannot wait for Sunday!!!! I have been on this salon journey with you from the very start and I am waiting with anticipation. BTW I love your idea with the braiding on the lampshade top and bottom ❤
See you Sunday 😀
Can't wait to see your work you have both done an amazing job
Option 1 looks great top and bottom so much nicer than the tassels
Definitely the first one, top and bottom. Sending love from England.
So looking forward to visiting you all. ❤️🙏🌹🇫🇷
The braid around the lampshade finishes of the lamp nicely but no tassel as it detracts from the beauty of the crystal base.
Everything looks lovely. My choice trim top and bottom.
Love the side table just adorable. The side table did u use two coats of red?
After u painted it gold,
Did u gold leaf it as well? OMG, the sconces came out beautiful! They are so perfect! It's all coming together, Quite lovely!❤
I sanded, primed, 2 coats of red, gold spray and then touches if gold leaf, that have yet to be filmed
Yes, I really like the gold on the lamp, much better looking for such a room.
Carole, you and Adrian have such marvelous attention to detail it just boggles my mind. The salon is gorgeous and you haven’t even gotten the furniture placed in it yet. Love your channel…your progress in the months since you began the restoration is breathtaking. Hats off from PA, USA.
Thank you so much!
The first tassels not the dangles 🎉 and the top might look good with a gilded knob of some sort, just an idea to look and see if it fits 😉
Carole, less is more? Perhaps the braiding around top and bottom would work and not take away from the lovely crystal base. Love your channel❤️
Thank you 😊
Love the gold on the ceiling trim pieces and the pearls. Great job very tedious. But it’s your passion for sure.
Thanks so much!
Yes the roping does look really nice on the lamp shade. I agree with Adrian to put it on top n bottom of shade.
Option one! Top and bottom of the shade. This is lovely!
Really enjoy watching your progress in this beautiful room. You both are just so very talented in all of the many varied jobs that you have had to complete! I think that the trim top and bottom is best, no tassels for me! Looking forward to your Sunday reveal!
Yes,on the flat trim. A cute finial for the top..
Yes, it looks great I would like it better than the tassels.
Option 1 top and bottem...
Yes thats the way to go..
Good afternoon from Washington state
I wouldn't miss that reveal for all the tea in China! Can't wait! Much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸💖 PS option 1, it needs color on the top and bottom.
See you Sunday! 😀
Top and bottom with the 1st choice you showed.
Option #1 top and bottom! Really adds to the lamp! Great idea Beth!❤No tassels please 😊
regarding the lampshade, I vote for option #1 darker gold braid around the top and the bottom. The bright gold fringe would be too much. Can't wait until Sunday!
Trim, no tassels. Tassels are more Victorian.
CONGRATS ON FINISHING THE SALON .. option on just the braiding just on top and bottom .... ❤
I like the lamp shade with the edging, on the top and bottom of the shade. However, if you are doing finial, I would wait to add the trim, until you have the finial, as the color of the trim may clash, with the color of the finial.
Option 1 for the lampshades is lovely - simple, classy and matches well with the paneling.
These brocantes need to pay Terry a commission for all the things he talks you into! The braid top and bottom would look awesome on the lamp. Or the tassels at bottom but they might distract from noticing the cut crystal. Looking forward to the final reveal.
The piping on top and bottom. No tassels. The details are exciting! Looking forward to the big reveal. ❤
Can't wait!
Os está quedando precioso!!!. La lámpara, para mi gusto, queda mejor con la tira sencilla arriba y abajo.

Love the trim on the top and bottom of the shade. Can't wait until Sunday. You are doing such a wonderful job. Wish I could be there to help.
Option ONE! It looks a bit more sophisticated in my opinion! You've one an awesome job Carol! Hard worker you are.....
Absolutely think the braid top and bottom! Tassels would detract from the lamp itself. Can’t wait for Sunday, it’s all looking fabulous.
The chandeliers are and .ook absolutely stunning
Looking forward to Sunday!!
Kind regards Nicholas 😂
Gorgeous!!!!! Mabey option 1 for top and sides, and then tassel at the bottem? A bit of trim would look nice. Go for it. 👍👍👍💖💖💖
Add my vote for gold braid on top and bottom. I’m so glad Carole thought to add trim because the lamp “reads” as quite modern / 1950s to me. ps - table is looking wonderful!

Definitely top and bottom. I would do it in the first choice. No tassels. Looking good! Can’t wait for Sunday!😘
Yep...plain (without tassle) top and bottom of lampshade would look lovely.
Very excited to see the big reveal of the salon!!!!
Greetings! The excitement of your big reveal is building 🎉 Adrian's choice of the gold trim on top & bottom of lamp shade is on point...in my opinion. I can hardly wait to see it all on Sunday. Cheers! 🥂
Braiding at the top and bottom for sure. It’s elegant but not in your face/over the top with the tassels. Can’t wait for the reveal on Sunday!! 👍🏻😉🙏
Love the lampshade dressed with the gimp top and bottom. Can't wait for the big reveal on Sunday! How exciting!
Absolutely breathtaking! I can't wait for the big reveal. As for the lampshade, the tassels are too much, the braid around the top and bottom look the best. Even just around the bottom is nice. Very regal. Reminds me of Buckingham Palace’s white drawing room
Tassels would work better if the lamp base was without design. The braid works well with the design of the lamp. Top and bottom. Adding it along the vertical sides may be too much.

Hello Adrian and Carole - I like hubby's idea of trim on both the top and the bottom of the plain white lampshade:) But no tassels - that's going overboard:(
I think, adding the narrow gold ribbon to the lamp`s bottom and top, would look the best!
No tassels. Enough competition already in the room. Less is more. Your curtains are fabulous!!! Top and bottom yes!
Lamps ...Definayelly the passamemtierie top and bottom
You wouldn't faux marble the top of the little side table?
Salon looking spectacular, can't wait to see the big reveal!
Defiantly option #1 on lampshade, top and bottom.
I vote for the simpler piping around the top and bottom of the lamp shade.
Carole, l have been trying to find your video where you used some putty-like blue product to make molds of the ornamentation… over the huge mirror in Salon, please can you give the name or a link to that, as I want to use it in my house Victorian for repairs? I vote the first option for the lamp shade. No tassels. Everything is looking so gorgeous.♥️♥️♥️
The thin trim top and bottom. It’s looking soooo Beautiful!
Yes… the cording on top and bottom would make it look more finished..🙂 Beautiful!!!
Salon is looking beautiful!! You both have done an amazing job!! I love the trim on the lampshades. Save the tassels for something else. ❤
