I love your techniques. your S mount armbar really was perfectly explained and extremely functional. this is not a bad neck crank though. not even close. those neck stretch ones like this or a can opener are only bad because inexperienced people try to muscle out of them and strain the back of their neck. but a proper neck crank involves turning the chin out to the side before bending the head to the chest over a fulcrum like your arm(or bending it first and then turning it etc). believe me, you can tell the difference and EVERYONE taps when its on, because you can feel your neck about to snap. like heelhooks they are powerful and dangerous and need to be treated with respect

    • @RyderKnightly

if anyone has a training partner who wants to practice them, think about the RNC position. they tuck their chin, you use the cutting bone on your forearm to drive that chin to point over their shoulder. (you should be able to grip that shoulder with your hand). There are many ways to finish the crank from here, but I like to use the RNC grip, my hand that drove the chin across and is gripping the shoulder goes to my other bicep and that arm goes behind the head. it should look like a RNC but with your partners head turned to the side. then you use the hand behind the head (actually on its top side just above their ear would be more accurate) to drive his downward facing ear to his belly button. it normally takes me just one inch movement to get the tap. see the difference between this type of crank and the neck stretch version

    • @MMALeech

It's still very effective in MMA, but you probably have better options from that crucifix position, like elbows for example, ala Garry Goodridge ruclips.net/video/_jNiNqZlDz0/видео.html

@@SwordTune Yes there are some neck cranks where you turn the head but that's not a rule. One of the most common neck cranks when you are inside of someone's closed guard for example is the can opener, and that's a straight neck crank as well, with no turning of the head.
