Welcome to Japan! There are so many great bands including Nemophila, Band-Maid, and Lovebites and that doesn’t include my favorite , or the 10’s of other great bands I listen to regularly. Each one of them has their own sound, do not compete, and are in fact friends on one level or another. Nemophila is by far the hardest group of the three and exceptionally talented. For a little background here is a short list of these women and previous bands: Mayu - vocalist: Previous Lipstick Haraguchi-San,- bass: Hoeldergins (spelling?) Saki - guitarist: Mary’s Blood, Destrose Hazuki - guitarist: Disqualia Tamu Murata - Drummer: Sorammi (spelling?) and a s-load of other bands as session musician. So you like drums? Tamu over the past few years has consistently placed exceptionally high in the world rankings by a number of drummer magazines. That is to say out of 3-4,000 drummers reviewed each year from all genres, she’s been in the top 50 and last I noticed around number 12. That’s not a small achievement. Haraguchi-San is one of the few bass players that can keep up, compliment, and at times exceed Tamu. Bass players rarely get enough love, but are the foundation of any metal song in cooperation with the drums. Of course she also composes and writes lyrics for many of their songs. Both guitarists are Queens of the seven string guitars (meaning current). Saki in particular has been referred to as a guitar Goddess in Japan, (meaning of all time). Mayu has the best, “fry” scream of anyone, but also has clean vocals. You bet they are hard and go far harder than this. However, they are very diverse. They can perform metal ballads, toss in jazz, classical and even Hiphop. I might suggest Adabana for your next reaction, or Oiran live. Don’t be a stranger.
Haraguchi-san only has one lyric-writing credit, which is "Zen" from the new album. She does have three music-writing credits, though, with Zen, Hypnosis (lyrics by Hazuki) and Style (lyrics by Mayu). Hopefully we will get more lyrics from her in the future.
Your journey into Japan's all female metal/rock scene is not complete until you've checked out Lovebites. Lovebites is the rare Japanese band who sings in all English, has one of greatest metal guitar duos of all time, and won the 2018 Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. Nemophila is a band formed by musicians from different bands. They are all excellent musicians. They can do whatever genre they want, mayu has a rich voice to sing many kinds of songs, whether it's their originals or covers, you can hear many different sound in each of their songs. I recommend《adabana》as the next!🤘🏻🌸🤘🏻
Nemophila is one of the bands that came from the band Destrose (a pioneering Japanese metal band), though it is not the best known of them, the best known of the Destrose family is Lovebites. Another of the Destrose family is Lonesome_Blue a new band that has attracted attention lately (and shares some of the production staff as Lovebites).
I discovered Nemophila when I came across their cover of one of my favorite BABYMETAL songs a while back. Now, I'm a huge fan of two J-Metal groups, BABYMETAL and Nemophila. I've listened to others but these two really do it for me even though I don't understand a lick of Japanese! Great reaction! 🤘🦊🤘
There are an amazing number of great rock and metal bands in Japan and the best are all girl .Nemophila one of the best with amazing talent ,fun and great to watch .Two albums out full of bangers and to think they started right at the start of covid end 2019 .Any of the suggestions from the lads below are great as they only do great songs LOL. More please you wont be disappointed.
Its me that Guy that recommended this to You. if Nemophila toured with Band Maid in 2023. It would be the Greatest Day of my Life. another Great Songs by Nemophila is Abadana and Style. And Band Maid i recommend Yolo or Freedom the Live Version. or Warning.
Well both bands, Band-Maid and Nemophila have extraordinary musicians. Band-Maid more on the melodic way, Nemnophila more on the metal way. This is also shown by the abilities of the singer.Mayu will always have that rasp in their voice, whereas Saiki can go more up and down with her voice ( not to mention the harmony with Miku's voice ). But that is not a quality issue, only different stile. The only two things where Band-Maid is in front, is the fact that they play a much longer time together and their live appearance and quality is better, but this will change also when Nemophila has more experience by playing together...only a matter of time. The second thing is, that Nemophila has no Kanami-song-writing-machine. We will see in future how Nemophila will improve. Both my preferred bands. Oh, did I mention the insane beauty of all this girls? 😂😂😍
you should check out the metal band Lovebites from japan and do their song Scream For Me daughters of the dawn 2019 it has 14 guitar solos in it or We the united live at Zepp Diversity Tokyo 2020 and in my opinion the top 3 female metal/rock bands in japan are Lovebites, Nemophila and Band Maid please let me know what you think
nemophila are such a great band, all masters of their art. hazuki and saki on 7stringss, haraguchi-sun bas, tamu murata drums and mayu ion vocals. you´re right, she sounds here like a very angry trapped wildcat, that was my first association hearing this one. but she also has a beautiful clear voice. in another point you are not right: best japanese female band, best drummer (ok, nemophilas tamu murata is as good as haruna) , best bassplayer, best guitarists, best composers and best singer you will all find in the band Lovebites. check out their actual official video "judgement day". they will melt your face. in a good way.

I wouldn't say Reactor is everything, but it's probably an overkill gesture since you watch once (sometimes many times) and upload videos
