What Happens if You Max Out Your Character in Dark Souls on the First Playthrough?

- I used a save editor in Dark Souls to max out my stats to see how far I could get into the first playthough until the game started to resist and become harder... It didn't take long.
I actually enjoyed this more than the usual challenge.
I hope you guys love the video thank you so much for sticking with me. Cheers.

I like that you are not invincible even at the highest level, its just about skill
I know I had difficulty fighting a few on the bosses and sometimes the regular mobs.
The true final boss of dark souls is a 2 phaser:
Skill issue and gravity
Yeah, I like that. Wish every souls have been designed like that.
That's why dark souls difficulty is perfect.
No matter how strong you are, the game will always challenge you
@@giornogiovanna1267, nah. Elevators. These tricky bastards make you levitate for some seconds or pull you under so you fall and die
I like how you ended the Gwyn fight with counter parry.
Insult to injury! 🤣🤣
I truly respect fact you saved Young Sif before fighting the present one
It's been so long since i fought sif that after i killed her. I put the controller down for about 10 minutes, had a rest had a drink. Artorias and Sif always kills me.
@@imatoucan they're great characters. All that was achieved without dialogue, just written lore.
@@imatoucan I tip my hat on you, all just because of that 😎
I’ve never seen that cut scene before I guess I’ve never done the bosses in that order I didn’t even know that Sif would jump down and sniff you how awesome
@@thomasjefferson2676 you have to save Sif before you challenge him
My personal theory is that this mad lad actually spent the last decade getting to max level from the asylum and was too embarrassed to admit it
Oh god
That is like shouthpark episode where they leveled killing boars or that insane guy who maxed FF7 Cloud at start of the game.
@@mysteriousstranger5873 😶
I love how power is actually restrained by weapon level rather than character level
Definitely in all souls games it's like that as far as I remember
That's why finishing the game at level one isn't that hard if you're willing to grind ascended pyro flame/maxed equipment and have master key to sequence break for better early gear and pyromancy.
@@MoreEvilThanYahweh and enjoy being oneshotted haha
@@kimbrolyy You'd be surprised how tanky a level one is with minmaxed gear and enough spare humanity. It's just grindy as hell maxing your character under those restrictions unless you use the duplication glitch with boss and firekeeper souls
@@MoreEvilThanYahweh hmm have to say I haven't watched many SL1 vids yet. I do love watching silly DS challenge videos
I used the bug of getting millions of souls in the Remastered for my videos and I actually got surprised that the weapons didn't actually did that much damage untill I upgraded them
For me the bug didn’t work that well, maybe it was cuz I was playing on the switch but the bug only permitted me to duplicate the souls 99 times instead of 999 times
@@lyam32 did you use arrows or a different item
@@charlielangley232 i had 999 arrows on me
@@charlielangley232 but even with or without arrow I never can’t get further than 99
Safe to say, that upgraded weapons do more damage than upgraded stats
I passed the game years ago and tried this for a second playthrough. I quickly found out that levels dont help much. They increase your defensive stats more than anything so boss fights are more forgiving and you get a little bit extra damage but thats all. The game is still quite a challenge.
I love how the Bed of Chaos didn't care about max level. SL 1 or SL 711, dude just wants to knock you off.
Puzzle boss.
@@serhafiye7046 The worst boss of ds1 for sure
@@keshbo That's not just the worst boss in DS1, it's the worst boss ever created for a video game.
@@GreenFalcon926 I'll spread the word on how to fight Bed of Chaos:
Stop looking at the floor, look at the arms and dodge or block accordingly.
I love that the artorias fight looked like it was still totally loseable.
I got soooo close. I shit myself near the end when i had to use humanity. 🤣
Yeah, I think artorias has true damage.
Now the enemies are playing dark souls.
Huehuehuehuehue

depending of the player the enemies play dark souls even if the character is level 1

You know a game's difficulty is just right when it remains difficult after putting cheats.

Him: maxes out stats and level but still uses summons.
Us: "A man of culture, I see."
I can only imagine the damage output with all stats maxed and running a glass cannon build.
dark bead 😮💨
How many flask does it take to refill your health? This also goes to show that stats alone don't do THAT much you need stats AND weapon upgrades LOL. Nice to know how challenging this masterpiece still is. I just finished 200 hrs of ER, put in DS1 and couldn't stop smiling for 2 hours.
I think Estus +0 it would take at least 6 to 8. I went back over my fight with Gwyn. I was at estus +2. and I used two to fill up about 7 canisters of my health bar.
You will stop amiling when it comes to playing it
I had max health and it took 8 with a maxed estus
@@matmeg-0847 This is untrue. Max Estis Flask (+7) with Max Health (1900) heals fully with 2 flasks.
@@dungeonpastor no it does not, I had max estus and a 99 vit character and it was most definitely not 2 flasks
I've done this before, it's still challenging but more fun, if you killed the Asylum Demon first encounter, you'd have gotten the Demon's Great Hammer which is actually perfect for this
God damn. Elden Ring was great... but watching this quick overview of the whole game makes me remember how ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE IT WAS.
That fucking firelink music... the most lonely and forlorn ive ever heard. The feeling watching the cutscene as the bells are rung. The first view of anor londo... (and then when you finally start understanding the lore and the connected world as a whole... your first re-view of the iron gollum arena and the caved in path to anor londo and dying to know what that passage is like.
A full knight run through would be awesome to watch. Begin the game with a sword and shield and then enhance to Greatswords and battle axes as you progress through the game. A full walkthrough with no commentary as a nameless knight or a knight of Astora would be awesome.
There was many things that could make this run way easier. Like some shortcuts and strategies. But overall great video! You should try this with the black alberd and the other ultra great black sword in the game. It's even easier
During my first play through I got the BKS from the first BK I fought. It carried me through the game.
Man feels great going down memory lane. Glad I played this game
I think that a use what you get randomizer run with max stats would be so much fun and add a huge challenge to the game, you should do a playthrough of that!
I will have to find one! Thanks for the suggestion.
Respect: ?/100
He killed Manus with small good girl Sif then had to kill good girl Sif then felt bad so he used good girl Sif's weapon for the rest of the game.
So Respect: 100/100
@@ChiefsKCtown 🥺 yep that sounds about right.

>has max level character
>still uses black knight sword
Okay. To everyone who keeps asking 'why didn't you use this, or that?' I used my regular loadout.
Thanks :)
Black Knight sword is in my hearth too, i drop It in my First time playing and never let It Go.
I like zweihander demon greataxe and artorias's sword and shield along with using magic
i honestly thought you would one shot basically everyone while not taking any damage but even with maxed stats, you still need skill. this is a good game
The first time i played dark souls, back in 2011, the game was so hard for me (I was 11 at the time), that i used the Dragon Head bug to get unlimited Souls, and the game was still hard, because i didn't know how the weapon system properly worked and all. So this video, gave me a lot of nostalgia about that time, me as a Kid trying to beat this "impossible" game, not knowing where to go, and still dying even with a very high level.
I cant imagine how someone can be so bad that they die to basically starting area bosses at maxed out stats and a black knight weapon
@bronekriiberg1904 in my defense I had no strategy and i was just slapping the attack.
Using some tactics you can (literally) make a character approximately max level (or max depending on your patience) by Glitching and Skipping.
I did that but killed Sit to get a high value soul if I use it on the Estus glitch. Also I upgraded Zweihander to +15.
I also spent my time buying resources (with the soul glitch) to level up the Elite Knight Armor to the maximum level.
Count on me... The feeling is that you are literally a god. It's nice to see enemies who (possibly) have already mopped the floor with you like little Undead trying to kill Havel.
I personally dislike Boss Capra Demon and... Using the maximum Zweihander's running attack and making him kiss the ground with a single blow was an unforgettable feeling.
I facerolled most bosses after I got a 40/40 quality build the first time I beat DS1. I was expecting maxed out stats to be a lot more powerful. Guess those diminishing returns really kick in.
Just realized one of the reasons I like these videos is because I can take in how gorgeous some of these bosses are, when I'm not concentrating on fighting them. In particular, Gravelord Nito and the Four Kings have an eerie beauty. And then there's straight up good looking, like Sif and Artorias.
I really enjoy your editing. Like it's so good. Most people are really memey or just bad. You gotta great balance of funny and Badass and I'm coming back here for more souls content
Two deaths before Anor Londo just shows how easily this game can beat your ass if you get cocky lol
I was definitely playing this cocky and it showed hahahah.
bro is max level but still recovers his souls
In the bed of chaos I was so hell bent on beating it that I left my souls and I couldn't jump back over without making the trip back. I was so pissed.
I just realized these games are a true successor to the old Xanadu franchise
What an awesomely designed game. By far the very best I've seen.
This is exactly how i imagine an easy mode in dark souls
Honestly the stat u need the upgrade the most is resistance cuz it’s the best
quality af +sub
Edit: 6:36 is literally me lmao
Most RPGs: LVL 1. Hits starting enemy with sword, 20% damage. LVL MAX: with punch... 1000% damage
Dark Souls not so. I reached a point where I wondered if it payed out too much to level up. There were more vast differences if you upgraded your weapons too much or have skills. LVL1 game doesn't feel so much different except that 1 good hit could instakill you instead of 3 at LVL MAX.
Can't even oneshot the weakest Hollow with a +0 Broken Straight Sword even with max Strenght and even max level. lel.
It would have been nice to see more than just a strength weapon used in a playthrough where all your stats are maxed
The most fun part of Dark Souls I (or Remastered) is that you can beat the game at soul level 1.
Good video bro keep it up
lvl 711 or not, respect for killing ceaseless without gravity. Couldn't pay me to do that.
3:45 shows just how much being max level doesn't matter, even before NG+
Ooh yes here we go again 🤤 another DS video recommended by YT. Another happy day i would say
Haha bro I actually worked out to this video! Banger soundtrack my guy!!
Back in the day on the 360 there was an awesome exploit using the dragon head+ a soul item to max out your souls pretty much at the start of the game.
Wait, what? That's so fckd up 😂 it's not a remastered, no?
@@Alfazri57 from my understanding they got rid of it before the update and dlc on the 360. But you can check the remastered version. It was pretty sick, grass shield, dragon head and any soul expect boss souls if memory serves some button tricks and just rack up souls.
calisavages22 has the video I used to do it.
he fought the pinwheel like he was it normal enemy 😭😭
The zoom in on the black knight sword. Aw yeaaah
If enemies can't kill you. Gravity will.
Clutch saving that 63 humanity from the iron golem.
So good you didn't even discharge cheese
Love the vid, had fun watchin it tyy
The four kings gave me a lot of trouble because I have difficulty perceiving depth so I couldn't tell how far away it was from me
Hahaha the fact u actually died on qualag with max stats had me laughing so hard
He just has a really good gamer chair, guys
The ending, where it all began was awesome man 🤜🤛
When he got to princess Tiddies I literally laughed saying “Every MALE dark souls player ever”
Soon the algorithm will bless you with this video
I love how most comments start with "I love how..."
If you challenged the dragon on the bridge, you'd quickly learn who's boss 😂
Dude really nice video, enjoyed watching it. But could you use other music in the next time? Like from well-known games or something like that? (Just my personal opinion, dokt flame me :D)
Since you have 99 INT and 98 Humanity, it would be interesting to see how effective Dark Sorceries are.
killing four kings, nito, artorias, and manus before gaping dragon is willldd
‘The Guy’ from spy kids
This is some great content, keep up the good work!
Fun fact, there is literally no reason to level attunement above 50, as it does nothing
This Is actually a fun idea I subbed out of curiosity
I also noticed your actual health extends the bar
The game has a time counter that compares your game time with level advancement. So if you evolve outside of the allotted time, the game punishes you.
Forgot how Its just fun to play this game with cheats
Im forcing myself to finish this SL1 run and its sucking really bad
I just get bored and run around with op things and just test it. It is so fun!!
I got to about level 240 on my 1st ds1 character before I used glitches to get souls now I need 49 attunement and 67 resistance to max level
I find so funny the fact that you killed Gwynevere right after looking at her... pearls
Even in the Dark Souls universe we must have modesty.
I like the fact that you died even with cheats, that only tells us how difficult and how good dark souls is
Max level and summons, what an absolute savage
1:30 approaches dangerous enemy with caution, botches a backstab, but lands a perfect parry. I’m thinking no way this is this guy’s first play through.
1:40 gets a parry on different elevations, something that LITERALLY doesn’t work in DS1. Looks like starting level isn’t the only thing modified, he needed a mod to make parry’s easier.
Are you sure it doesn't work. That was a legit parry.
Max character, summoning and still struggling...
I love that you added ADTR to the video 🖤
It's common thing i've done recently, i've done it in a couple videos. Everytime I do something that's really obnoxious and unessessarily assholish, i will chuck the snip in from ADTR.
Finally, someone used a scene from Kung Pow! Great movie, great video.
The A DAY TO REMEMBER was perfect 👍😂
Your stats may be perfect, but even they cannot prevent the feels from coming through
This experiment highlights how build are more effective than Overstats, If any of this sets or weapon have some sinergy, even not being over the top the diferença would be massive
Weapon scaling was such a brilliant move. Even at max, C class weapons will still suck.
Yeah from soft did that correctly at least
Literally me after destroyed 0-20 by Bell Gargs 😂
Edit : 10++ by gravity, fck that arena
Smough: *(Does that awful plough move that kills everyone)*
Lvl 711: Teehee, that tickles. ^_^
Quelaag: *(Farts violently)*
Lvl 711: *(Dies a lot)*
Pretty much. I got caught by the multiple objects being sprayed out and lava does burn dmg every second or so.
Just got into the video and made me laugh when u just one shot the boss LMFAO
the guy is level 713 and still summons coop
I was hoping you would skip Ornstein’s fight, perfect
Max stats don't do much imo. But a fully upgraded weapon does a lot in almost all Souls games. That is why SL1 runs are great.
It’s actually possible you can have a max stats in the first play through without farming for hours on end by a glitch it’s a soul duplication glitch If you want to do it look it up
