Great show, thanks guys! Helloween is one of my absolutely favorite bands since my early childhood till now, so while I don’t like making lists, seeing this I’ve decided to do my own Helloween’s albums ranking. So here's my list. It's very different, and that's absolutely fine, because the variety is one of the things I really like about this band: 15. My God-Given Right 14. 7 Sinners 13. Straight Out of Hell 12. Walls of Jericho 11. Rabbit Don't Come Easy (10.5 The new self-titled reunion one goes somewhere here I think, but I need more time with it) 10. Keeper of the Seven Keys: The Legacy 9. Better Than Raw 8. Gambling with the Devil 7. Chameleon 6. The Time of the Oath 5. The Dark Ride 4. Pink Bubbles Go Ape 3. Master of the Rings 2. Keeper of the Seven Keys: Part II 1. Keeper of the Seven Keys: Part I
Another fantastic show,Pete. Helloween has always been one of my top bands since the 1980's. First time I saw them was in 1986 on the Hell On Wheels tour in Rochester at The Penny Arcade with Armored Saint and Grim Reaper. Here is my list: 1)Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 1 2)Walls of Jericho 3)Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 2 4)Better Than Raw 5)7 Sinners 6)Master of the Rings 7)Time of the Oath 8)The Dark Ride 9)Rabbit Don't Come Easy 10)Gambling With the Devil 11)Straight Out of Hell 12)Keeper of the Seven Keys 13)My God-Given Right 14)Chameleon 15)Pink Bubbles Go Ape
Helloween is one of my favorite bands ever!!! The majority of their albums are MASTERPIECES to me. I am really looking forward to their new album since both Kai Hansen and Michael Kiske are back in the band. This is a difficult ranking for me because I love the majority of their albums. At this moment my ranking would have to be with one song from each album that I love. 15. Chameleon - Giants 14. My God Given Right- Heroes 13. Straight Out Of Hell- Nabatea 12. Keeper Of The Seven Keys:The Legacy- The King For 1000 Years 11. 7 Sinners- Are You Metal? 10. Gambling With The Devil- Paint A New World 9. Rabbit Don't Come Easy- Open Your Life 8. Pink Bubbles Go Ape- Someone's Crying 7. Master Of The Rings- Where The Rain Grows 6. The Time Of The Oath- The Time Of The Oath 5. Better Than Raw- Push 4. The Dark Ride- The Dark Ride 3. Walls Of Jericho - Gorgar 2. Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part 2- Keeper Of The Seven Keys 1. Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part 1- Halloween
Was desperate to find the time to watch this episode and it was well worth it!! Helloween is my third favorite band of all time, just behind Maiden and Priest. Man what an impressive catalogue. Also pretty cool to hear two people who actually like Chameleon and Pink Bubbles, cause I I absolutely hate those albums hahaha but that's what it's all about as Pete always says. To me, Helloween is to Power Metal as Black Sabbath is to heavy metal as a whole. My introduction to them was listening to Ride the Sky on a radio show and was immediately hooked. Have seen them 3 times, they always put on an amazing show. Must give kudos to them for solving whatever differences they had and now getting everyone back together. Andy, Kai and Michael all in the same band, that's a first honestly. Imagine any other band that has gone through those kind of changes settling their differences... must don't even play the songs that came out with a different singer. So very cool show, congrats to both and definitely looking forward to more power metal bands rankings.
gonna be a hard one to rank, love them all Keeper of the Seven Keys: Part I (1987) Keeper of the Seven Keys: Part II (1988) Walls of Jericho (1985) Pink Bubbles Go Ape (1991) Master of the Rings (1994) Chameleon (1993) The Time of the Oath (1996) Straight Out of Hell (2013) 7 Sinners (2010) The Dark Ride (2000) Better Than Raw (1998) Gambling with the Devil (2007) Rabbit Don't Come Easy (2003) Keeper of the Seven Keys: The Legacy (2005) My God-Given Right (2015)
Good review guys. In many ways I love the Andi Deris stuff just as much as the earlier classic stuff. I always wished they would feature more of the Deris material at gigs but I suppose they have to play the classics. You just made me get out all my Helloween albums again.
My Ranking: 1. Keeper of the seven keys part 2 2. Keeper of the seven keys part 1 3. Master of the rings 4. Time of the oath 5. Walls of jericho 6. Straight out of hell 7. Dark ride 8. Better than raw 9. My god given right 10. 7 Sinners 11. Pink bubbles go ape 12. Rabbit don't come easy 13. Gambling with the devil 14. Keeper of the seven keys - The Legacy 15. Chameleon
So glad you keep posting these rankings! Even if I'm not a fan of the band it's still entertaining and the enthusiasm is contagious. I think my favorite band you've introduced to me has got to be Saga, keep up the great work!
My top 5 1. Keeper 1 2. Keeper 2 3. Time of the Oath 4. Walls of Jericho 5. The Dark Ride Chameleon takes a while to get used to but some songs are very good.
Great show Pete and Rich hear are my top ten Helloween albums: 1. Better than Raw 2. Keeper of the Seven Keys ----- Part 2 3. Walls of Jericho 4. Master of the Rings 5. Keeper of the Seven Keys ----- Part 1 6. Time of the Oath 7. The Dark Ride 8. 7 Sinners 9. Straight out of Hell 10. Rabbits Don't Come Easy
According to setlist, "Kids of the Century" was played Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018. "Where the Sinners Go" was also played. Sat. the 15th got "March of Time" and "Waiting for the Thunder," respectively.
Excellent show I only have a mix cd of Helloween that a friend made me I’m now inspired to get the best albums of the catalog. Thanks for the recommendations.
Again great episode of ranking the albums. Thanks to Pete and Rich! It would be interesting to see ranking episode of W.A.S.P. too. Great band with large cataloque. Have to give my best Helloween albums as well. Of course. 1. Keeper of the Seven keys part 1. 2. Keeper Of The Seven keys part 2. 3. Walls of Jericho 4. Master of the rings 5. Pink bubbles goes ape.
I don't know why I didn't do this months ago, I waited to listen to that New Album. 16 - Chameleon 15 - Pink Bubbles go Ape 14 - My God Given Right 13 - Keeper of the Seven Keys: The Legacy 12 - 7 Sinners 11 - The Dark Ride 10 - Rabbit don't come Easy 9 - Gambling with the Devil 8 - Strait out of Hell 7 - Better than Raw 6 - The Time of the Oath 5 - Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 2 These Top 4, took Me some time to Rank 4 - Helloween 3 - Master of the Rings 2 - Walls of Jericho 1 - Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 1 We all have the same Number 1.
I loved "pink bubbles" right from the day I've heard it. Every song. I also skipped the "Chameleon", but quickly returned to it and loved it ever since, together with " Instant clarity " Kiske's album. He said he wanted the band to be like Queen, to write songs in different genres, but fans didn't understand that change. I think that's the reason everybody hate Dream Theater's Astonishing, even though it's music is amazing
@Damon Scott not really..... "Time Of The Oath" definitely has some good tunes, but not on the same level as "Master" album..... "Master" album seems to me like the band took a completely different approach to songwriting...... none of the songs really sound like anything they did before and all the tracks are truly memorable...... "Time Of The Oath" is not that memorable...... Andi Deris recorded better albums with the band than "Time Of The Oath"...... I even like some of these later albums better...... albums like "Gambling with The Devil", "Keeper: The Legacy" or "Straight Out Of Hell" are all better albums in my opinion.....
Helloween single handedly created the European Power Metal genre . Guardians off the Walls of Jericho , and Judas Is the best song ever recorded by anyone
Back in the 80's the man that owned a local UHF station gave his nephew his own show . He did an hour of Metal videos then the scifi movie of the day . One of the videos he always played was Helloween . I cant remember which song, but that's what turned me on to Helloween . There a good group , I like the Savatage T-Shirt They are a cool band too
Just a little correction, Pink Bubbles Go Ape was Roland Grapow's first album with Helloween. Kai Hansen was working on the 2nd Gamma Ray album Sigh No More in 1991.
Here's my ranking, for what it's worth :) 1 1985 : Walls of Jericho 2 1998 : Better Than Raw 3 1996 : The Time of the Oath 4 1987 : Keeper of the Seven Keys, Pt. 1 5 1988 : Keeper of the Seven Keys, Pt. 2 6 1994 : Master of the Rings 7 2000 : The Dark Ride 8 2003 : Rabbit Don't Come Easy 9 2007 : Gambling with the Devil 10 2010 : 7 Sinners 11 2013 : Straight Out of Hell 12 1991 : Pink Bubbles Go Ape 13 2005 : Keeper of the Seven Keys: The Legacy (double album) 14 1993 : Chameleon 15 2015 : My God-Given Right
Back in the day, these guys were my hometown heroes. Jericho and Keeper One - pure gold. Keeper Two was okay, but when Hansen left, I kinda left as well. Just listened to "How Many Tears" right after your episode - man, what an incredible burner that is. And I really dig Hansen's voice - less opera & more grit than Kiske (I was always a Di'Anno guy, so there.)
I was into Helloween already from the first EP. What memories, but totally stopped listening to Keeper 2. But after all the years and your episode, I will listen to all albums from first to last. My top 3: 1. Walls 2. Keeper p1. 3. Keeper p2. And Judas has to be one of the best non-album songs ever!
Keeper part 1 will always be my favourite - I bought it and Walls of Jericho at HMV in Portsmouth the weekend before I went home to my parents who lived in Mansfield - about a 3 hour drive - and taped them to listen to in the car, which I did non stop there and back. It has been and will remain in my top 20 favourite Heavy Metal albums forever - listening to it now and I never tire of it. Finding it very difficult to list so in joint second would be Keeper 2, Master of the Rings, Time of the Oath, Better than Raw, Rabbit dont come easy (Mikkey Dee killing it on drums) and Gambling with the Devil In join third are the outliers to me - Walls of Jericho/Judas (I'm not a big fan of Kai's voice I'm afraid but the music is great), Pink Bubbles and Chameleon - as Pete says not as bad as when I first heard it and as Rich says it shows that they arent just a one trick pony, though at the time if they hadn,t bounced back with Master of the Rings I may not have stuck with them - same goes for Gambling after Keeper 3. Joint fourth are the Dark Ride and Keeper 3 (as in the duet with Candice Night it tends to go on and on and on....) And bringing up the rear are the last three,7 sinners (what was Biff Byford thinking of with his cringeworthy intro to Who is mr Madman?), Straight out of Hell and My God Given Right - I had to pare them all down and create a best of when listening on my ipod -although I'll admit I havent really listened to them or most of the catalogue apart from Keepers 1 and 2 for a few years now, so after watching this had a quick refresh through them all. Thankfully after the last two though we have the reunion live in Madrid CD and DVD and all is very very well again in Helloween listening land- though as both Pete and Rich say there remain great songs throughout all of the albums and the guitar playing, regardless of whether its Hansen, Grapow or Gerstner partnering Weikath, is always soo damn good - I do wonder why Weikath never really gets the plaudits he and his partners in axemanship deserve - Andi Deris taking over from Michael Kiske was probably the best replacement that could be made at the time with Ralf Scheepers having been busy with Gamma Ray and just about to join Primal Fear.
Well done, pumpkinheads! I'm sure you're as excited for the new material as I am. Chameleon is very high on my list, and it's always mystified me why it's so polarizing. 1. Keeper of the 7 Keys Part II 2. Better Than Raw 3. Keeper of the 7 Keys Part I 4. The Time of the Oath 5. Chameleon 6. Master of the Rings 7. The Dark Ride 8. Gambling with the Devil 9. Keeper of the 7 Keys: The Legacy 10. Pink Bubbles Go Ape 11. Straight Out of Hell 12. Walls of Jericho 13. 7 Sinners 14. Rabbit Don't Come Easy 15. My God-Given Right
7. Walls of Jericho 6. Chameleon 5. Master of the rings 4. The time of the oath 3. Pink bubbles go ape 2. Keeper of the seven keys Part 2 1. Keeper of the seven keys Part 1 That‘s it for me, I‘m not a fan of their other works. The two new songs from the forthcoming album sound very promising, so it will surely be the first Helloween album I‘m going to buy since TTOTO. 👍
Great analysis, hard to come with a top 10 but if I were to break the rules, "Live In The UK" would feature. A charismatic and flawless performance from those crazy Germans, particularly "How Many Tears", I remember reading Kai Hansen wanted to feature that version as opposed to the original on some greatest hits album a long while back.
I want to highlight some of awesome B-Sides and Bonus Tracks of this amazing band: Savage ('88); Shit And Lobster ('91); I Don't Care, You Don't Care (BADASS RIFF) and Oriental Journey ('93), Grapowski Malmsuite ('94); Walk Your Way ('96); A Game We Shouldn't Play ('98); Deliever Us From Temptation ('00); Revolution ('05); Find My Freedom and See The Night ('07); Another Shot Of Life ('13)
That's quite a mug or cup you have there, Pete! I indeed had all the mini-LP, Maxi, EP, LPs in vinyl at the time until KoftK Part II (before I sold all my vinyls mid-90s).
Love Helloween!!! 15) Keeper of the Seven Keys: The Legacy 14) Chameleon 13) My God Given Right 12) 7 Sinners 11) Master of the Rings 10) Pink Bubbles Go Ape 9) Rabbit Don't Come Easy 8) Gambling With The Devil 7) Straight Out of Hell 6) Better Than Raw 5) The Time of the Oath 4) Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 1 3) Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 2 2) The Dark Ride 1) Walls of Jericho
1- Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part. 2 2- Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part. 1 3- Master Of The Rings 4- The Dark Ride 5- Better Than Raw 6- The Time Of The Oath 7- Chameleon 8- Gambling With The Devil 9- Walls Of Jericho 10- My God-Given Right 11- Straight Out Of Hell 12- Rabbits Don't Come Easy 13- Pink Bubbles Go Ape 14- Keeper Of The Seven Keys:The Legacy 15- 7 Sinners
Roland Grapow is on the Pink Bubbles Go Ape album. Kai Hansen left the band during the Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part 2 tour. I actually love both Chameleon and Pink Bubbles Go Ape more now than when they first came out. I was a young teenager when they both came out back in the early 90's , and at that time I was not open-minded yet. I remember that I was very mad that Kai Hansen left the band , and at that time I did not like Roland Grapow because I blamed him for the huge change in their music. Years later I began to love both albums , and especially Roland Grapow and his guitar playing and songwriting. Roland Grapow was actually a great replacement for Kai Hansen and he did a phenomenal job in the years that he was in Helloween. Roland wrote many great songs like Mankind, Someone's Crying, The Time Of The Oath, The Dark Ride, The Chance, Still We Go, and some others. I agree with Pete that Roland Grapow was a huge loss for Helloween after they fired him. He is still writing amazing songs with his recent band Masterplan. Masterplan's self titled debut album is a MASTERPIECE!!! In my opinion it is better than at least half of Helloween's studio albums. It is a shame though that Helloween does not do any songs on their tours that Roland Grapow wrote while he was in the band.
only have 2 albums by helloween, seven keys part 2 and live in the uk, used to have seven keys part one, it was in purple vinyl and somebody offered me good money for it some years ago, got them all when they came out, i think i still have live in the uk on a proper cassette somewhere.
I just bought my first two Helloween albums yesterday after listening to them off and on for a few months. Was slow to get into them cause of how silly Pink Bubbles and Chameleon looked. Explored some of their later stuff and found more I liked, decided to start building a collection of their stuff. Naturally I started with Keeper of the Seven Keys 1 and 2.
Hey Pete, your best output for a while. Stick with this guy. Just don't let him talk about Kiss too much. I thought he was tough until he piped up about them.
I know that it is coming, but I am really looking forward to the Iced Earth ranking the albums video. Iced Earth in my opinion is one of the most consistent bands ever. The majority of their albums in my eyes are MASTERPIECES. I even struggle with ranking their albums because they have so many phenomenal albums. The only weak album to me is Crucible Of Man, but the rest are all amazing.
Great ranking! Here is my ranking: 1. Time of the oath 2. Better than raw 3. Keeper 2 4. Keeper 1 5. Walls of Jericho 6. Master of the rings 7. Rabbit don’t come easy 8. Straight out of hell 9. Keeper 3 10. Gambling with the devil 11. My god-given right 12. 7 sinners 13. The dark ride 14. Pink bubbles go ape (first with Grapow, by the way) 15. Chameleon
I haven't really heard any of the Helloween albums in full, but I remember from school how some of my mates got into them. Pretty good songs and very cool covers. I also saw the metal documentary by the Canadian film maker (Dunn?) and the power metal genre is the one appealing the most to me, after progressive, since I'm more or less schooled in progressive rock. Helloween to me also sounds more like orchestral music, but with electric instruments. I see this video as a great introduction
favorite p.m band . very interesting critic to their sound even if i do not agree with them on the tracks choice as good or bad . example - chameleon - rated as generally bad buy by far my favorite
ha ha, love keeper the legacy, first halloween album I got, saw the picture on the front and got it straight away, and when I heard it I loved It, and listened to it all the time!
Remember it like it was yesterday. 11/13/1985 I attented a concert by Faithful Breath on their fantastic Gold'n glory tour. The lights went out and a unknown band called Helloween burned down the hall with a sound never heard before. Bought the mini album at the concert and Walls of jericho came out a month later. Best tour was Keeper 1 with Overkill as opening act on their Taking over tour. What came out after that I think it is Ok but not great. The two later albums I like are Master of the rings and The dark ride.
I bought Better Than Raw when it came out...and i had NEVER heard anything by Helloween. The gamble was worth it..definitely worth it.Helloween easily surpassed Iron Maiden as my favorite metal band a long tme a go.Andi's solo albums are pretty good too.I listend to that last one(the one he did with his sons band)over and over and..
Yes!! Was stoked to wake up and see this. Keeper Vol 1 is my favorite traditional metal album. Kiske is my all time favorite metal vocalist and Hansen is my favorite guitarist.
Walls Of Jericho, Judas single and helloween mini lp are my favorite helloween albums but still dig the keeper albums part 1 is my favorite out of those two albums I’m a kai Hansen fan
Here s my ranking: 16. Chameleon (1993) 15. KOTSK 3: The Legacy (2005) 14. My God - Given Right (2015) 13. Rabbit Don t Come Easy (2003) 12. Gambling With The Devil (2007) 11. Pink Bubbles Go Ape (1991) 10. Straight Out Of Hell (2013) 9. Helloween (2021) 8. 7 Sinners (2010) 7. Walls Of Jericho (1985) 6. KOTSK 2 (1988) 5. KOTSK 1 (1987) 4. The Dark Ride (2000) 3. The Time Of The Oath (1996) 2. Master Of The Rings (1994) 1. Better Than Raw (1998) I know I ranked a lot of albums in different places than when you guys ranked them, but I personally think the four Uli Kusch albums are the best ones
15. My God-Given Right 14. Chameleon 13. Keeper of the Seven Keys 3 12. Straight Out of Hell 11. Rabbit Don't Come Easy 10. Pink Bubbles Go Ape 9. 7 Sinners 8. The Dark Ride 7. Gambling with the Devil 6. Master of the Rings 5. Time of the Oath 4. Keeper of the Seven Keys 2 3. Better Than Raw 2. Walls of Jericho 1. Keeper of the Seven Keys 1
Interesting lists. I think it's cool you have different opinions. I agree with some of your points about the problems. Although I don't agree with some of the songs you didn't like, e.g. I love Asshole and the dark songs from the Dark Ride. And I love that Helloween sometimes do those weird things.
I can only rank what I have in my collection. 8. Keeper of the Seven Key: The Legacy 7. The Dark Ride 6. Gambling with the Devil 5. Better than Raw 4. The Time of the Oath 3. Master of the Rings 2. Keeper of the Seven Keys, Pt. 2 1. Keep of the Seven Keys On the list to purchase, Walls of Jericho and the other two Kiske ones. Starting with KOTSK:TL Helloween started getting too taxing. Both guys are right, some material should have been edited. On the other hand, I've found the expanded editions of those in the top lists are brilliant--especially the cover of "I'm Your Captain" and "Cold Sweat".
Back in the day I had a lot of the Noise vinyl catalogue and all of Helloween stuff up to Keeper 2 .Then Pink Bubbles came out and they lost me and I don’t think I have heard anything else certainly not a full album.May have to check out some later ones.
Helloween, my big Heavy Metal love. Here we go (EP included!): Helloween (EP) Walls Of Jericho Keeper 2 Better Than Raw Keeper 1 Time Of The Oath Dark Ride Chameleon Master Of The Rings Keeper Legacy Gambling With The Devil Straight Out Of Hell Straight Out Of Hell Pink Bubbles Go Ape 7 Sinners Rabbit Don't Come Easy
Just a tiny correction, Pink Bubbles is INDEED the first offering with Roland on guitars and writing credits as well.
You are correct. Roland joined them
when they toured the states for The Headbangers ball tour with Anthrax and Exodus.
I know, realized that after the taping. Oops, my bad. All the knowledge I was trying to remember, and I dropped the ball on that one. Ugh. Lol
Great show Rich. I always look forward to these
@@MetalAsylumNJ Was still an excellent show Rich! All the best!
Keepers 2

My top 5
Please tell me this October we’re gonna talk about Mercyful Fate and the solo albums of King Diamond?
They have already done that. Check the page
liquidvizions I didn’t notice that! However that was top 10 songs. How about a best to worst on their studio albums
@@ZMsoloman5000 Yeah my bad. I forgot it was just a top 10 song list. I totally agree with you that we need that MF and KD album ranking.
@@Iron_Mladen Yeah dunno why I was thinking it was the album ranking. Hopefully soon we get this!
This was so good. How great is it to have someone to talk to about Helloween albums.
Absolutely! I don't have anyone here where I live that loves Helloween like I do that I personally know. Every time I ever talk about Heavy Metal music to anyone here, the only band they know of is Metallica and it is only The Black album that they know of.
A Running Wild ranking would be killer
Running Wild reminds me of Iron Maiden, in that listening to them has educated me about historical piracy, to the point that I can at least make it look to people that don't question me too much like I know something about the subject. But anyway, what an awesome, awesome band.
Running Wild is the essence of German Metal. They could be the greatest metal band on earth if Rolf kept a steady lineup. Their influence is huge, they are the basis for most european metal from 1995 and then on.

Rich, love the Savatage t-shirt! Glad you're representing. Such an underrated metal band.

Good review guys. In many ways I love the Andi Deris stuff just as much as the earlier classic stuff. I always wished they would feature more of the Deris material at gigs but I suppose they have to play the classics. You just made me get out all my Helloween albums again.
Still we go..on the metal highway! Thanks for that "deep cut down dive"- mention, Rich! Awesome!

So glad you keep posting these rankings! Even if I'm not a fan of the band it's still entertaining and the enthusiasm is contagious. I think my favorite band you've introduced to me has got to be Saga, keep up the great work!
My top 5

2. Keeper 2

Love W.A.S.P. that would be great!
@@improzigw Pete has said that he was never in to W.A.S.P.
Walls of Jericho was the very first cassette a buying. It's always special when i listen this one.
I don't know why I didn't do this months ago, I waited to listen to that New Album.

13 - Keeper of the Seven Keys: The Legacy
12 - 7 Sinners
11 - The Dark Ride
10 - Rabbit don't come Easy
9 - Gambling with the Devil

5 - Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 2
These Top 4, took Me some time to Rank
4 - Helloween
3 - Master of the Rings
2 - Walls of Jericho
1 - Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 1
We all have the same Number 1.
Oh im floored, Keeper part 3 is in my top 3 lol
Unpopular opinion but my favourite album is Master of The Rings
not really unpopular opinion..... easily my fav album right after "Keeper" albums...... every song is so memorable
Not unpopular master is a good album
Same here..of course with the two keeper albums!👍🤘🤘😎
It’s my number one favourite album by Helloween, and it isn’t a unpopular opinion, people have different opinions on stuff
There a good group , I like the Savatage T-Shirt They are a cool band too
Thank you guys for Ranking the Studio Albums: Helloween.🎤🎸🎵🥁
Exactly, now it's time for Gamma Ray. \m/
Just a little correction, Pink Bubbles Go Ape was Roland Grapow's first album with Helloween. Kai Hansen was working on the 2nd Gamma Ray album Sigh No More in 1991.
Here's my ranking, for what it's worth :)
1 1985 : Walls of Jericho
2 1998 : Better Than Raw
3 1996 : The Time of the Oath
4 1987 : Keeper of the Seven Keys, Pt. 1
5 1988 : Keeper of the Seven Keys, Pt. 2
6 1994 : Master of the Rings
7 2000 : The Dark Ride
8 2003 : Rabbit Don't Come Easy
9 2007 : Gambling with the Devil
10 2010 : 7 Sinners
11 2013 : Straight Out of Hell
12 1991 : Pink Bubbles Go Ape
13 2005 : Keeper of the Seven Keys: The Legacy (double album)
14 1993 : Chameleon
15 2015 : My God-Given Right
Great ranking of a awesome Band, the fathers of Power Metal !!!
My top 3 :
1. Keepers 1 & 2 (can't separate them)
2. Master Of The Rings
3. Chameleon
Back in the day, these guys were my hometown
heroes.
Welcome RICH once again !!
He's actually kinda boring plus small cam
@@liquidvizionsmadferit boring, lol, ok next time I'll do cartwheels or juggling
@@MetalAsylumNJ It'd be a start
Finally my Absolute favourite band🤘🏻, great episode guys !
Kai Hansen said soft rock Helloween is not my thing, I am a speed metal guy. So he forms Gamma Ray and writes masterpieces like Rebellion in Dreamland
Yeah, King Diamond and Mercyful Fate ranking the studio albums.
KD's Halloween or Helloween's?
@@independenceltd. kings
Finding it very difficult to list so in joint second would be Keeper 2, Master of the Rings, Time of the Oath, Better than Raw, Rabbit dont come easy (Mikkey Dee killing it on drums) and Gambling with the Devil
In join third are the outliers to me - Walls of Jericho/Judas (I'm not a big fan of Kai's voice I'm afraid but the music is great), Pink Bubbles and Chameleon - as Pete says not as bad as when I first heard it and as Rich says it shows that they arent just a one trick pony, though at the time if they hadn,t bounced back with Master of the Rings I may not have stuck with them - same goes for Gambling after Keeper 3.
Joint fourth are the Dark Ride and Keeper 3 (as in the duet with Candice Night it tends to go on and on and on....)
And bringing up the rear are the last three,7 sinners (what was Biff Byford thinking of with his cringeworthy intro to Who is mr Madman?), Straight out of Hell and My God Given Right - I had to pare them all down and create a best of when listening on my ipod -although I'll admit I havent really listened to them or most of the catalogue apart from Keepers 1 and 2 for a few years now, so after watching this had a quick refresh through them all.
My God-Given Right
Pete, any plans to make ranking albums/top 10 songs from Sepultura?
7. Walls of Jericho
6. Chameleon
5. Master of the rings
4. The time of the oath
3. Pink bubbles go ape
2. Keeper of the seven keys Part 2
1. Keeper of the seven keys Part 1
That‘s it for me, I‘m not a fan of their other works. The two new songs from the forthcoming album sound very promising, so it will surely be the first Helloween album I‘m going to buy since TTOTO. 👍
Awesome love Helloween
Great analysis, hard to come with a top 10 but if I were to break the rules, "Live In The UK" would feature. A charismatic and flawless performance from those crazy Germans, particularly "How Many Tears", I remember reading Kai Hansen wanted to feature that version as opposed to the original on some greatest hits album a long while back.
I want to highlight some of awesome B-Sides and Bonus Tracks of this amazing band:
Savage ('88); Shit And Lobster ('91); I Don't Care, You Don't Care (BADASS RIFF) and Oriental Journey ('93), Grapowski Malmsuite ('94); Walk Your Way ('96); A Game We Shouldn't Play ('98); Deliever Us From Temptation ('00); Revolution ('05); Find My Freedom and See The Night ('07); Another Shot Of Life ('13)
Ornest of life. Victim of fate kiske on vocals
@@JR-zx7um The Madness of the Crowds('00)
What are your favorite Helloween side projects?Mine are the first Masterplan album and Andi's album he did with his sons band.
Kudos to mr Catino for the analysis. Running WIld pirates salute you..
Thank you
That's quite a mug or cup you have there, Pete! I indeed had all the mini-LP, Maxi, EP, LPs in vinyl at the time until KoftK Part II (before I sold all my vinyls mid-90s).
My favourite Helloween album Is The Master Of The Rings, it’s the first album I heard and I love it
A band that I never much cared for, but I love the Keeper albums, those are keepers! Love "The Dark Ride", Keeper 3 was decent.
So glad that Pete put 7 Sinners so high up on his list! 🤘🤘

extraordinary program
I would definitely put The Dark Ride in my top5. Love this album.
Great guys. Love that Savatage shirt Rich. ;)
only have 2 albums by helloween, seven keys part 2 and live in the uk, used to have seven keys part one, it was in purple vinyl and somebody offered me good money for it some years ago, got them all when they came out, i think i still have live in the uk on a proper cassette somewhere.
Great show ,long live helloween and cant wait for United, just hope they come to Australia cheers
When pink bubbles came out I stopped going out in the dark at night.
Hey Pete, your best output for a while. Stick with this guy.
Just don't let him talk about Kiss too much. I thought he was tough until he piped up about them.
Lol, what wrong with Kiss?
I know that it is coming, but I am really looking forward to the Iced Earth ranking the albums video. Iced Earth in my opinion is one of the most consistent bands ever. The majority of their albums in my eyes are MASTERPIECES. I even struggle with ranking their albums because they have so many phenomenal albums. The only weak album to me is Crucible Of Man, but the rest are all amazing.
Kiske is still an amazing singer
Great ranking! Here is my ranking:
1. Time of the oath
2. Better than raw
3. Keeper 2
4. Keeper 1
5. Walls of Jericho
6. Master of the rings
7. Rabbit don’t come easy
8. Straight out of hell
9. Keeper 3
10. Gambling with the devil
11. My god-given right
12. 7 sinners
13. The dark ride
14. Pink bubbles go ape (first with Grapow, by the way)
Pete, since you're wearing their shirt, how about a Nightingale ranking the albums show?
Like your shirt Pete. Would love to see a Nightingale vid at some point.
favorite p.m band . very interesting critic to their sound even if i do not agree with them on the tracks choice as good or bad . example - chameleon - rated as generally bad buy by far my favorite
Nice, one of my sons first faves were helloween and gamma ray
ha ha, love keeper the legacy, first halloween album I got, saw the picture on the front and got it straight away, and when I heard it I loved It, and listened to it all the time!
Gods of Power metal!
Great episode, with the song Mankind alone Pink Bubbles is in my top 5!
Keeper albums got me through college. Hope they do one on Kai's Gamma Ray.
Hey Pete! I was wondering if did a Blackfoot album ranking before? I would love to hear your thoughts!! Keep rockin man🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
As I've stated, it's coming!
I love parts of Chameleon, but the cover art must be a candidate for the Hudson Bay Squares Monday Night Fests!
That trilogy of Master of the Rings, The Time of the Oath and Better Than Raw is badass. Them 3 and the first 3 are my top 6.
53:09 well actually Save Us is bonus track, the last song on the original album is Keeper Of The Seven Keys, only 9 tracks

Interesting lists. I think it's cool you have different opinions.
I agree with some of your points about the problems. Although I don't agree with some of the songs you didn't like, e.g. I love Asshole and the dark songs from the Dark Ride.
And I love that Helloween sometimes do those weird things.
Keeper part III is criminally underrated
I can only rank what I have in my collection.
8. Keeper of the Seven Key: The Legacy
7. The Dark Ride
6. Gambling with the Devil
5. Better than Raw
4. The Time of the Oath
3. Master of the Rings
2. Keeper of the Seven Keys, Pt. 2
1. Keep of the Seven Keys
On the list to purchase, Walls of Jericho and the other two Kiske ones. Starting with KOTSK:TL Helloween started getting too taxing. Both guys are right, some material should have been edited. On the other hand, I've found the expanded editions of those in the top lists are brilliant--especially the cover of "I'm Your Captain" and "Cold Sweat".
Ya gotta do Gamma Ray now
I would love to!!
Back in the day I had a lot of the Noise vinyl catalogue and all of Helloween stuff up to Keeper 2 .Then Pink Bubbles came out and they lost me and I don’t think I have heard anything else certainly not a full album.May have to check out some later ones.
