Cried watching this. I'm 37, had mastectomy and complete lymph node removal recently and first chemo a week and a half ago. Watched loads of peoples videos to try and make some sense of things and this lady is the one I feel the biggest "connection" with. Been going through her videos. I'm at the stage of knowing the hair loss could come any day and I cant comprehend it. Thank you for sharing your journey ❤
Thank you....I needed to see this because I too will live this in a few short weeks. I am going from midback length to bob then to shave....i cried watching this, but it is good, I need to process this is stages.
How strong you are to put these video's up . Watching three years along the line at 47 yrs old after being diagnosed on the 1st September 2021 and had my first lot of chemo on the 30th . Loosing my hair will be hard as it's like your identity , but knowing I am not going through this alone will help me face it ....... you are truly beautiful inside and out xx
Was diagnosed in September 2020 operation December 1st 2020 started chemo and January 2021 12 weeks lost my long beautiful hair about the second third week just came out and clumps completely badass bald started to come back in about May or June started to see peach fuzz I got happy been growing pretty good ever since got a pretty good crop down to my ears right now but still not as long as it was it was all down my back but happy the cancer will stay where it is and not come back I hope You Are Not Alone
Today I am doing the head shave. I started wearing my hair short a few months ago in preperation. I didn't lose it in clumps, it just started to thin a lot. I hate cancer.
I am just crying as I see you going through this even though I know this is an older video. I am about to go through this myself. Your channel has been so helpful to me on my journey. Thank you ❤️
Hi Dee!!! I’m rewatching all your videos. Somehow I missed this video before. It made me cry so much even though I know how beautiful you were with the pixie cut and then with your head shaved!!! I feel for all the men and women who have to go through this. I had BC last year and only needed radiation. I was prepared for the hair loss. Thankful every day for my hair since this experience. I will never say I’m having a bad hair day again! Stay strong beautiful. You are always in my prayers. Lots of love from Pennsylvania, USA.
I am seriously jealous of how perfect your head is. Mine is like a misshapen bean 😑 I agree with Ariel W. You definitely rock being bald and your headwrap is fab!
Dee Doherty today is nausia ringing in the ears and some tears. I keep thinking I am just a big baby today. Tomorrow should be better. I guess living alone makes it tough.
My mum's just had her first Chemo and is expected to lose her hair within the next couple of weeks. Your videos are so inspiring and a nice comfort to help me prepare and understand where she's coming from. Thank you for being so inspirational and sharing your journey ❤ crying xx
Aww x thank you love, don’t cry! It’s actually quite nice being bald! I’m sure your mum is beautiful, especially in yours eyes (because aren’t our mums the most beautiful people we know?) .. let her embrace the bald around the family, no need to hide it or get sweats under a scarf or hat! And she might be embarrassed especially as someone a generation above us who were made to feel it was something to hide or be ashamed of... and definitely make sure she lies down in a bath to get rid of all the horrible falling out bits of hair, the shedding is the worst, it’s my top tip!! Love to you and your family x ❤️
@@DeeDoherty Thank you hun for your amazing strength and inspiration! I don't think you know how much sharing your story really helps us all get through and understand a little more about the ups and downs of this journey. Your gorgeous inside and out! Thank you Xx
My hair was like your length. I went to a bob for 3 days and then had a buzz cut. I then shampoo it everyday vigorously and dry it the same. Tub & towel has alot of hair in it. Now almost bald. Someone needs to have a song for us girls going through chemo and that we are survivors.... Love you bunches for your awesome videos!
I start chemo next week. I’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer for the 2nd time. It’s in my lymph nodes this time 😞 Thank you so much for enlightening me as to what to expect. You’re beautiful without hair. I hope I can rock it even a quarter of the way you do! Did you lose your lashes and brows during the chemo treatments? You’re an inspiration and help people like me feel like we’re not alone. FU cancer.
Oh sweetheart, I’m so sorry to hear this! You’re so strong 💪 round 2 Jenn vs Cancer xx I did lose my lashes and brows… eventually. I just did a thick eyeliner on my lids with a flick and I used the Benefit “precisely my brow” pencil X
I think sometime you need to look at these things as opportunities. If it wasn't for this you wouldn't have cut your hair, but you can see from this video how much you suit a bob so once your hair starts to grow back it won't take long to get to that length. I had thyroid cancer 5 years ago and although it wasn't treated with chemo it was still very hard mentally. Keep going x
💜🙏🏻 I’m a new subscriber man this video was the hardest so far to watch I think mostly because I could see the effects of it it’s hard to see what it’s doing inside your body but to see what it’s doing on the outside was just awful I know it’s only hair but it’s a part of your identity I’m so sorry I hope you’re doing well
Last video u had pixie cut, because u didnt want to go from long hair to bold. how all that hair grow up again? Or i saw the videos in wrong order? When did this happen? Is it during chemo before mastectomy? I wish for you the best, you are strong woman Your videos held so much other people with same problem, Thank u so much!
