Mrs. Doubtfire came out at the perfect time in my life. I got to enjoy it when I was a kid for the child humor, and I get to watch it now for the adult humor. Nothing is missed on it for me. RIP Robin Williams.
I was born in 1988, so I didn't yet understand all the humor when it first came out on VHS, but still understood a lot of it, and always found it funny, but it got better when I understood the adult humor more.
"Oh no, Daniel. What are you doing?" 😆😆😆😆 I love your channel. I don't say it nearly enough, but you are the best thing on RUclips. Time to throw some $ at you.

I wonder if the 70s and 80s were just full of divorces because almost every 90s movie dealt with divorce or involved a kid who only had one parent so im curious if the writers of these movies all experienced that growing up
LOLOLOLOL! This was a great breakdown, DN! :D I absolutely loved this film as a kid, and looking at it now, it's aged pretty well for the most part (there are a few scenes that are kind of cringe in this day and age, but they're in the minority). Joking aside, I love that Pierce Brosnan's character actually wasn't an asshole. Maybe Miranda will marry him, maybe she won't, but in the end, he's actually a decent guy who absolutely loved her kids. And I also loved that Daniel and Miranda didn't get back together. It was a great touch with reality, giving kids who came from homes that had broken up or were not that of the typical nuclear family something to identify with. So, yeah, a great film and, again, a wonderful breakdown! Thanks so much for sharing, DN! :D
For me quitting it would be something like 'as Merle Haggard sang, "Take this job and shove it!"' and they would stare at me and say something like "That was Johnny Paycheck. Just get out."
Cannot get enough of DN's unique combination of cynical wit and genuine love. Also for a man whose Pierce Bronsan is a bit shabby he does an awesome Colin Farrell. What do you mean he didn't do Colin Farrell?
In the mid 90’s people tried to get the Teletubbies canceled because they thought one of them was gay. Could you imagine the reaction to a cross dressing British nanny hosting a children’s show? They would go goddamned bonkers.
See, Daniel should have used the bus driver as an excuse to get Mrs. Doubtfire out of the birthday dinner. Could have had her going on a romantic getaway with him or whatever, even had him show up to meet Miranda or something. Problem solved.
Hey son, it’s Dad. I heard what you said at the end of the video. How about we go fishing this weekend? Just make sure to get a flattop before we meet up.
I never understood WHY did they EVEN have the scene where the two kids found out about Ms Doubtfire being Daniel? They NEVER bring it up again and in the end, when the big reveling happens at the restaurant, their reaction still comes off somewhat surprised...🤔
Aha, you got to it. Wonderful stuff. Another item: have you ever considered doing Pierce Brosnan voiceover work. For example, if asked what would make the film Goldeneye better? I would absolutely know the answer.
I think it was the director or the producer of Mrs. Doubtfire that said they took so many different takes on scenes, some would make the film R-rated, some NC-17.
Good video! It would have been cute if Daniel, as Mrs D, had accidentally made friends with a chatty sweet old widow lady around Mrs D’s age and then toward the end of the film set her up with the Bus driver. Corny I know and It might have made the run time a little too long but I think it would have given a little extra charm to the film
I've not seen this movie in like 20+ years, but please tell me the wolf emergency newspaper was in there somewhere!!! I literally spat my Nutri-Grain out on the table when I saw that I was laughing so much!!
See it never bothered me that Mrs Selner asked for a cup of English tea. It’s a weird thing to ask for when youre supposed to be inspecting someones house, but she’s a weird lady🤷♂️. It did bother me that Daniel did not even try to come up with an excuse to say No, like “Um No lady, you’re here for business not a tea party, or if he wanted to be nicer he could say “oh sorry we’re out of tea”, or “oh I’m sorry my sister goes to bed early, she’s still in Englands time form jet lag”, but no he just dresses up and makes her tea 😒😩
The Hilliard home is a 4 bedroom, 4 bath, 2 story, 2 bedroom, 2 garage, 3,200 square foot home in San Francisco. The house is probably worth over 5 million. Miranda has a window office at work with a view of the Bay Bridge and Angel Island. In hind sight, Daniel should have done a better job kissing Miranda’s ass. His arguments at the beginning of the movie were major weak.
Seriously this is the worst movie ever, that poor poor bus driver. Everyone gets a happy ending but him. He probably eats cream corn for diner straight out of the can. The ray of light is the sweet old lady he has a crush on just disappears or he finds out she was a man? So sad. Hail to our new wolven overlords. Nice Robin Williams impersonation.
I was told he found out she was a lesbian and another large old lady rode the bus the next day and he lived happily ever after. Well at least until they took his license away.
This is a comedy, but there's nothing funny about a father getting his children taken away from him. It only seems normal because it happens all the time.
This movie is so messed up. it really just makes this woman look like a total piece of trash. It almost seems like she has no reason to really divorce the guy, but she does it anyway, and just ruins his life. It's almost as if it's advocating that women are just terrible in general because they have all the power when it comes to divorcing.
The dude can't keep a job so he contributes nothing financially, he isn't a good coparent and it doesn't sound like he does anything around the house. Who would want to be in a marriage like that? Even the older kids call Daniel out on his BS when they are visiting him at his apartment. Yet nooo, Miranda is the bad guy? Well I guess she had to be the "bad guy" their whole marriage while he undermined her parenting so he could be fun dad so why would their divorce be any different?
