Great video. I am in a powerpoint class at a community college and I think you are doing a better job than the textbook company online slides are doing!

This was such a thorough tutorial about textboxes, shapes and placeholders. I especially liked the part about the three stallions. Concise answers to important questions that probably a lot of people have. thank you so much. Awesome tutorial.

Thanks for checking out our channel. Glad to hear you learned a few new things about text box configurations. I find in my trainings that not a lot of people understand all of these nuances, which results in any number of problems in their decks.

Glad it was helpful and thanks for the comment. While not the "sexiest" topic, using these correctly will save you a ton of time when working in PowerPoint.

@@Nutsandboltsspeedtraining haha it's okay if it isn't the "sexiest" topic. Some times topics like this are most helpful because they are used more often. :)

Great content. (FYI - there's a typo on your thumbnail slide for this video. It should be "Configuration."

Hi i have tried to save WRAP TEXT as part of my default Text Box in MS 365, but it does not work. Every time i click new text box, my wrap text settings does not get save as my default text box, but my other alignment settings are save in my default (only WRAP TEXT - does not get save). Does it not work with MS 365?

My guess is that was a glitch. The Warp Text feature does save with the default formatting (I just tested it on my versin of Office 365). When weird things like this pop up that shouldn't pop up, I typcially will try to update Office, or worse case, you can uninstall and reinstall it. I had somethign similar happen to me the other day when I was resetting placeholders and it wasn't working, but it worked on everyone else's computer I tried it on.

Thank you for the great video. Do you have a video on how to lock images and text in a Powerpoint slide? I want the keep the design of the file but have the ability to change the info in the text boxes.

I don't have a video on that, but with Office 365 you can now right-click objects and select Lock. That locks the position of the objects on your slide so that someone cannot move it, but you can still edit the text. Sounds like that is excactly what you are trying to do.

Hi, I have a general question and maybe you have a creative idea? We are working internationally in teams and it is always a pain merging content together. We have some colleagues, who are not very familiar with the Paste / Insert options ... so they use a pasting method (from whatever template they are using / repository) whatever is convenient for them. Also, the colors they are using is always a bit of. I was trying to customize templates and share them - which does not help, because the colleagues simply reuse whatever they have. I was thinking of defining a *,thmx file, to restrict the colours a bit - but this seems to have also its limitations. I am wondering, is there any way to disable all other pasting options (except using target design) probably in combination with disabling certain colours and/or the new defaults for shapes within a template? Thanks in advance for any hint. .... and again, thanks a mil for vour videos: they are always a great source for inspiration and your presentation style is one of the best on YT.

when customizing the layout in slide master the font size comes out differently on a normal view specially when you add new slide and select the layout you have made in slide master. I have made sure to customize the master slide font but still getting a different font size on a normal view.
