Heavenly - I Fell In Love Last Night (official)

I Fell In Love Last Night was the debut 7" single by Heavenly, released on Sarah Records in 1991. The video is by Rob Pursey. Filmed on Super 8 and newly digitised.
It features on the band's forthcoming singles compilation "A Bout De Heavenly", released December 2020 by Damaged Goods Records (damagedgoods.c...)
At this point, Heavenly were Amelia Fletcher, Peter Momtchiloff, Mathew Fletcher and Rob Pursey. Cathy Rogers joined the band shortly afterwards. The single was engineered by Richard Haines at Dungeon Studios.

Finally caught Heavenly when the Jericho Tavern closed down in Oxford at the end of 1994, and then again in Norwich. Wonderful gigs. And a big thank you to John Peel for playing them on his BBC World Service Show. Up til then, I'd only been able to read out about them in three-month old Melody Makers and NMEs down on the southern tip of Africa. And until I got to the UK, the only Sarah Record I had was the Glass Arcade, which I'd bought on mail order.... the past WAS indeed another country and we did things differently there.)

They recorded many years ago on small indie record labels where the budgets were minimal and before MTV became a big thing. Check out their earlier incarnation Talulah Gosh.
