Thanks Luke, I just picked it up. I've started brute forcing with the gospels as well. One thing I have found from reading Allen's dialect book and emailing some professors is it's a bit hard to know certain fine details about the pronunciation. Especially around Chima and Janja.
Definitely going to pick these two up... I just received Bentley Layton's _Coptic In 20 Lessons_ and I saw both of these on Amazon, and was curious about them... Thanks for doing a review... 😮💨 Two more books I have to add to my library on the Egyptian language... Just when I thought I was done spending money... 😂
Nice!! Luke, a quick questions. Since you are reviewing some polis institute’s book, I was wandering if you are thinking of reviewing “Ἕν, δύο, τρία· Ἑλληνίζωμεν δι’ εἰκόνων καì σκηνῶν. Spoken Ancient Greek”. I don’t know if you already did, if so, I can not find it on YT. I hope to see it soon!
Looks interesting!! Once I get started on Coptic I will definitely try this book, ⲟⲩⲁⲓ, ⲥⲏⲁⲩ, ϣⲟⲙⲧ and maybe the reading method you recommended using a translation of any of the Gospels in Coptic. I also have a PDF of the grammar book "Introduction To Sahidic Coptic," if you have any advice for that one even if it's not Bohairic.
Hi Luke! Will you do some videos about the pronounciation of Coptic?
I have a whole series on Patreon at the moment. I may do a public video in the future.
I had a Coptic doctor and i wish i coudl show em this stuff. Amazing.

Now i kinda want some Asterix books in Coptic.
they should make a coptic LLPSI
I thought I heard counting! I knew ⲥⲛⲁⲩ, which is probably a cognate of שנים, and the rhythm sound like counting.
I hope this method of learning languages by funny histories will expand to the scholar ambit.

Yup! That review is coming out next week some time
Ciao Luke😉 posso chiederti dove hai preso il leggio che si vede all’inizio del video?
Ciao! Su Amazon. Super utile.
@ Grazie!🙏🏼😌

I recommend So You Want To Learn Bohairic Coptic which is a PDF you can find online. I recommend starting with Bohairic as there are more resources.
