They are the best of the best and the times I've seen Liza live I regard as the greatest nights I've ever spent in the theatre. The Wizard of Oz is the greatest movie ever I can remember watching it as a very young child ( under 6 years of age ) and up to just a few years ago I made sure I watched it every year. I am 67 years old and believe it was a movie way before its time.
As a little girl watching the "Wizard of Oz" on our black-and-white TV back in the 1950s, I fell in love with Judy Garland and have always admired her fantastic singing voice and acting talent! I always thought Judy was very pretty, and my favorite films of hers were Easter Parade with Fred Astaire and In the Good Old Summertime with Van Johnson! In the Summertime movie she sang and danced in this lovely red dress I just adored! Liza was so cute in the ending of that movie!
I also watched ‘The Wizard of Oz’ on a black and white telly as a kid, but in the seventies. Then when I told my mates about seeing it they were like “That bit where it suddenly goes into colour is great, isn’t it?” and I was like “Wut?”.

You blame the studio for that, they gave her " uppers" to keep her going during long days of filming and suppress her appetite, and sleeping pills to get her to sleep. You wouldn't be addicted to that combination.

Judy Garland was a great singer and actress, and we all know her struggles with addiction started when she was a very young actress. She was a great mom and experienced a lot of pain during her life. What I don't understand is why Liza made mistakes in her life. Sad to hear she wanted to learn about life and made the wrong choices. Judy was her mother. She should have learned through the heartaches Judy lived and not living her life trying to be her mother. Judy will never be forgotten, and Liza will be remembered only as Judy's daughter.
Judy was not tragic only had tragic things happen to her but she herself was not tragic !I do not think the rumors about her were ever true or some were half truths but so many people lied gossiped about her and said told rumors about her and that is all it was just rumors not truths just so much lies told about her to hurt her !
I don't think Liza would remember much any off her mother's MGM career, she was born in 1946,Judy left MGM in 1950,when Liza was four..I do admire Liza for keeping the legacy of her mother alive. She rarely say anything negative. Yet, I've readd or heard there were tough times.t Also Liza built a career without singing her mother's songs or acting like her. Her sister Lorna Luft wrote a family memoir Me and my shadow, that mentions some of those tough times. They even put some in the TV mini-series of the book. Once in NYC, her mother in a crazed state of my mind chassed her son around with a knife her son, once in a TV interview said you didn't want to get his mother mad. Judy was a drug-addicted alcoholic, which caused to have erratic behavior, suicide attempts ,disappointment slickness ,fear, ,loss ,and death. Judy as a wonderful talent, in singing, dancing and acting. She died too soon. She was abused by her mother and MGM. Liza is also a wonderful talent who sings, dance and acts. I do prefer listening to Judy more, yet love's Liza's Results album.
Even though she passed in 1969, the year I was born. It’ll probably seem crazy but the only movie I’ve seen her in is the Wizard of Oz yet I feel this connection that I can’t describe when I watch her in interviews, awesome concert footage, etc.. there’s a deep connection I just don’t know why or where it comes from. For the most part since my kids left home for college, I was lost in silence in my home. I will never blame Judy for her addictions and lifestyle, but I do believe her mother and.L.B. Mayer are the two killed her. I would never give my children uppers and downers to sleep and wake up, yet Judy’s mom had started, and Louis B added more. He didn’t give a shit about his 💔children actors, it was all about the money.

It’s sad to know that someone actually ridiculed her for her looks and weight. She was a very beautiful woman, I’ve always found her to be absolutely gorgeous.
You blame the studio for that, they gave her " uppers" to keep her going during long days of filming and suppress her appetite, and sleeping pills to get her to sleep. You wouldn't be addicted to that combination.

Judy Garland was a great singer and actress, and we all know her struggles with addiction started when she was a very young actress. She was a great mom and experienced a lot of pain during her life. What I don't understand is why Liza made mistakes in her life. Sad to hear she wanted to learn about life and made the wrong choices. Judy was her mother. She should have learned through the heartaches Judy lived and not living her life trying to be her mother. Judy will never be forgotten, and Liza will be remembered only as Judy's daughter.

Judy was not tragic only had tragic things happen to her but she herself was not tragic !I do not think the rumors about her were ever true or some were half truths but so many people lied gossiped about her and said told rumors about her and that is all it was just rumors not truths just so much lies told about her to hurt her !

I don't think Liza would remember much any off her mother's MGM career, she was born in 1946,Judy left MGM in 1950,when Liza was four..I do admire Liza for keeping the legacy of her mother alive. She rarely say anything negative. Yet, I've readd or heard there were tough times.t Also Liza built a career without singing her mother's songs or acting like her. Her sister Lorna Luft wrote a family memoir Me and my shadow, that mentions some of those tough times. They even put some in the TV mini-series of the book. Once in NYC, her mother in a crazed state of my mind chassed her son around with a knife her son, once in a TV interview said you didn't want to get his mother mad. Judy was a drug-addicted alcoholic, which caused to have erratic behavior, suicide attempts ,disappointment slickness ,fear, ,loss ,and death. Judy as a wonderful talent, in singing, dancing and acting. She died too soon. She was abused by her mother and MGM. Liza is also a wonderful talent who sings, dance and acts. I do prefer listening to Judy more, yet love's Liza's Results album.
Even though she passed in 1969, the year I was born. It’ll probably seem crazy but the only movie I’ve seen her in is the Wizard of Oz yet I feel this connection that I can’t describe when I watch her in interviews, awesome concert footage, etc.. there’s a deep connection I just don’t know why or where it comes from. For the most part since my kids left home for college, I was lost in silence in my home. I will never blame Judy for her addictions and lifestyle, but I do believe her mother and.L.B. Mayer are the two killed her. I would never give my children uppers and downers to sleep and wake up, yet Judy’s mom had started, and Louis B added more. He didn’t give a shit about his 💔children actors, it was all about the money.
