Together we will explore the streets and alleys of Havana's Cayo Hueso neighborhood. I will stumble upon some beautiful aspects of Cuban culture. Wandering into Callejon de Hamel for the weekly rumba performance, fully soaking up the elements of Afro-Cuban culture. Are you ready to get knee deep in it?

Dejaya8! Thank you for coming by as always! Cuba is probably the roughest place Ive been to in terms of what people have access to… The desperation is heart wrenching… Had the boat my ancestors been on turned a little bit to the right then I might have ended up Cuban - instead of Jamaican… I see myself and my family in the people I meet her…. Better must come…. Mr. Jefferson reminds me of my grandfather…. When I go back I will have to bless him

@@KeenanLambert198 Yes amigo, their quality of life is brutal. And it gets worse every month. I've never been a fan of sanctions, but I don't know enough as to how effective they've been as far as Cuba is concerned.

I am curious to know what difficulties Cubans have? I visited Cuba once. Cuba is a beautiful. The people are very friendly, like to laugh and seem to enjoy the simple pleasures in life. Unfortunately my time there was very short so I have a very limited sense of what it really is like.

@@KeenanLambert198Well, if you travel to the Eastern part of the country, Guantanamo and Santiago de Cuba you will find a lot of people with English last names, all of them were Jamaicans who went to Cuba to work on the Sugar and Coffee production in the 1940' and 50' and they stayed in Cuba, never went back to Jamaica.
And then revolution came and they were not allowed to leave.
      Good people, hard working.
As a matter of fact, one of the Cuban Sport heroes was Teofilo Stevenson, many times Olympic and World Champion in Boxing, his parents were Jamaicans. Googole.
Good luck to you and thank you for the review without any prejudice of my home land.

Did you go to the area in the museum where it said No Photos? I see this video and say to myself that Keenan must pick up spirits and don't even recognize it. Once I would have saw a man with a dead animal I would have not taken that path. You don't experience foreign spirits when you travel like this? How do you remove things that try to attach to you?

The Cuban accent is very similar to the one I heard in Panama, specifically in Colon. My first Spanish teacher is from Cuba and I speak with that kind of accent where people hardly open their mouths lol. But in any case, it is very similar to the regional accent in Colon Panama what do you think Keenan?

Im Panamanian an can say some cubans accents are close to Panamainan accents, specially the Cuban Oriental accent (Santiago de Cuba). The Habana accent not so. For other latinos Panamanian sounds like a mix of Cuban and Colombian Costeño. I get confused with both.

Keenan, Just a bief comment, pun intended! Probably the water got you, in some form, maybe the ice in a drink. Nothing is wasted, so it could have been the meat. As you have noticed refrigeration at the market stall is non-existent. You can't go wrong with DEEP fried chicken. That hot oil kills everything.
