Excellent demonstration 👍🏽 the best part about folding your straps like that comes when you unloading. Takes 1 second to remove the entire strap. Good stuff hand.
Only issue I see with leaving straps in the roller winch is it's prone to weather / road issues causing rust which means less life and strength from the strap.
I am a hook thrower and I believe our way of doing things is much faster but yes more dangerous. When you have the right technique for the throw it is very easy.

I take my straps. Usually spray my winches down before next load. From I see I get a pre loaded trailer. The previous driver only half rolls the strap and never un does it then roll it up so the strap is straight and neat in the winch. Usually it's a soup sandwich trying hand crack it. I like to through the buckle over. Run strap through winch then fold excess or if little excess put the fold in the strap and be in there. But my biggest pet peeve. I tried telling fellow drivers from company. If you do it my way the strap always stay tight and the roll in the winch is much smaller. Than if I do it there way. And can not ever get the damn thing tight enough.

One more thing I hate about them being rolled on the wrench is it takes more time and energy to tighten them

Just what i was looking for. I really liked that you showed multiple rolled straps.
I still do samething. But go all way through no fold. Little hint spray your winches with PB Blaster or something. Work lot better

I have hauled a many of pallets of shingles, felt, and roll roofing. State safe

Note: we use 3 "straps with a hook at the end of 1' of chain. With the right technique it is easy to cast.
