    I appreciate this technique breakdown, most people are like "just jump up and swing it and dunk!" which doesn't help at all. Will be trying this!

      Jayshaun Amaker jclarkthejumper has a good one too...I make windmilling hard on myself since I'm the goofy style windmiller...I tried to 360 windmill 3 times like 2 weeks ago...met the top of the center of the rim the first time...I only needed like 3 more inches...second time off the back of the rim...third time in and out...so close I can taste it...left/right plant, right hand with a counter clockwise rotation...I gotta work on right/left planting

    I be doing regular dunks like one and 2 hand and my head be close to the rim and at first the gym be turnt and people be like I didn't know he could dunk and now people are like do sum else like a windmill soo.. That why im here 💯 can anybody else relate

    Wow I think I need to switch my 2 foot plant style. Off one foot I plant my left and swing my right leg upwards and I get the most air like that. The reason I say I need to change my two foot plant style Is because I get embarrassingly low hang time with 2 foot take offs. I think I figured out why. Thanks alot bro keep up the good work.

      It's the same by me.Try it with a smaller ball. It's way easier

      @@thierrytft7952 I may be a bit late but what helped me is to push the ball as hard as you can with your off hand while performing the windmill

    Thank you man, this really helped. I am 5”3 with a 36 inch vert and i’m 16. Today i hit my first windmill on an 8”8 rim. Just wanted to say thanks for helping and for the confidence boost

      @@DavidRenegade yeah I was just telling him the truth I’m 6” and I can only just barely dunk. I’m just saying he should use his time more effectively and work on some skills that will actually benefit dunking really isn’t a skill you use much at a small height my friend is 6”4 and dunks nearly every game and me I only get too dunk if no one is in front of me and I have a clear shot.

    Hey Nick how many inches above to rim need to do windmill?

      If your normal u.s.a height 5'10.
      So it would be like 33 inches

    thanks for the tutorial! I lose like 12inch in my jump whenever I try moving my arms in the air with the ball. I will try these tips and practice it. I hope you do a tutorial on 360 too :D

    i just left then right but my left leg is still in the front so i finish at the front of the rim i can windmill every now n then but not consistently

      You literally just start trying. Your first jump will suck but eventually your body gets used to it

    Also when swinging your arm use the other arm to push the ball it will help the ball stay in your hand

    i always lean in my jump and dunks like mj and cause of that i don't think i get to my highest. any tips on jumping straight up?

    would it be easier to practice the windmill on lets say an 9 foot rim? Because when i think too much about the ball and jumping style i mess up my jump and wont get as high up as i would If I would jump without the ball...If that makes sense.

      Yes for sure practice on shorter rims.. Always easier

      +Michael Deschuytter Mike, as in most dunks, I think it's easiest off the lob (for reasons that you know). That being said... It's still VERY technical for us 'Tweeners'

    He nick I'm 14 and 6'1. I'm from an Arabic background and gave good athletic genes. I'm not too fit and a little overweight and I'm really close from touching rim. Any advice? Anything would be great thanks.

      Well it does somewhat, youre still doing a windmill. A windmill dunk is bringing the ball in a rotating motion regardless of how far you extend. Now you may say, "Oh then I can just put the ball in front of me and make a little circle and its a windmill." Technically no, that is a circular motion and isnt rotating on any axis.
