I wish they would use them more too. Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, Tomodachi Life, and Miitopia are all great games. Just remember that this is NOT a sequel to Wii Sports; it’s a sequel to Clubhouse Games, which didn’t have miis (it was a DS game).
I gotta admit, I miss the era of the Mii. They had this special charm to them that just scream Nintendo. I’m planning on picking up the game anyway tho bc an official mini game collection on the Switch sounds like a good time.
This game has so much potential and I was so excited to play it with my cousins and grandma, but now I see I can play only 2 frckin games of 51 and I want to cryy
I still don’t understand why they don’t just port Wii Sports Resort to the Switch. Sales would go nuts because people want that nostalgia. They could even update it all to HD.
I’m glad we have the option to use the touch screen; looks like that’ll play like the original Clubhouse Games, while the motion controls play more like Wii Sports.
@@raincastmusic If you didn't try it, the original Clubhouse games, you should was/is (slightly) better than C.H. G. switch, for many reasons. except dead online now... but live local multiplayer. Mission, Stamp mode, Freeplay etc... still my fav. (3)DS game.
It goes too fast or the lane is too short. There was something great about the suspense between when you threw the ball and when it hit the pins in the Wii version.
Totally agree. Wii sports had a great spin response to ball travel speed. It looked like he was fast forwarding in these clips with how fast that ball was going. I mean I guess this game is better than nothing, but they really should have just copied Wii sports resorts mechanics and fine tuned them
I gotta admit, this, 2 player only and the lack of Miis definitely affects my likelihood of buying this game. Instead of buying with no questions, I'd rather now wait for a sale or just not buy it at all and wait for something better. I don't like that Nintendo has cheapened and removed things that made one of their systems the greatest of all time. Hell, I'd pay $60 if Nintendo just made a Switch version of Wii Bowling with no frills or additions, but yet I hesitate to pay a reduced amount for this "bargain" package that doesn't really feel like a bargain based on the effort they put into it.
IKR? I'd at least be okay with Miis not appearing everywhere if they at least continued to have their own games on the Switch like Mii Sports, Tomodachi Life, Miitopia, etc.
The only thing that needs to be updated is the amount of players you can play with online. (Note it's up to two players with both locally and online) If they can bump it up to 4 players my friends and I be all over it
Nintendo should make a new sports game just with our Miis on the Switch. Like very similar to Wiisports but instead call it, Switchsports. Always remembering the good old times for playing Wiisports and Wiisports Resort, like we use to.
What i dont like is how short the lane is, something about them makes it feel less like bowling, and more like toy bowling, i think wii bowling has a better length, ball speed and a more visual animation feedback for when you are swinging
something i like in wii sports is that the corridor(?)/play area is pretty long. its satisfaying to watch a big curve in it. in other bowlings games, the track(?) is so short and the ball so fast that it takes less than second yo hit the pins
I wish they would update it to add more quality to this game, at least for 4 player like the original and being able to throw it behind you. They should be a lot more confident in trying that there are a lot of people who would be tilted over the fence into buying this if the bowling game was simply as good as Wii Sports was, but tbf I don't think they could ever match the nostalgic music perfection of Wii Sports.
Why there are no Miis in this game? Easy answer: this isn't Wii Sports, it's Clubhouse Games. Simple as that, they don't have to put Miis in it if they don't want to.
Another answer: Because Nintendo tries to steer away from the Wii branding, especially during the console’s launch. The eShop game Flip Wars was originally going to include Mii characters until Nintendo decided to publish the game overseas, when they were then replaced with Metroid Prime: Federation Force type characters. 51 Clubhouse Games is also developed by ND Cube, who developed three Wii series titles (Wii Party, Party U, and Play: Motion). Some minigames recycle assets and gameplay elements from those games. The game’s globe challenge mode also use realistic human characters instead of the Miis, which could’ve easily used other players’ Miis or the computer Miis that has been used since the 3DS era.
I will never forget the feeling I had when the Wii was new. Felt so futuristic and when I finally got it I couldn't believe I was actually holding a Wii Remote in my hands. Wii Sports felt so revolutionary.
Thank you for this. I wanted to get Club House games so me and my parents could all play a new bowling game instead of digging out the Wii U and playing Sports Resort. But oh well!
I feel like Nintendo released Clubhouse Games again as an intended hint to us that we will not get a Wii Sports for the switch, or a “Switch Sports”. Because it has all the sports that the original Wii Sports has.
Nintendo should make a game where you can walk around in a 3D space sort of like Nintendo Land and play games in a live setting where there are other players on online servers. It could be kinda like club penguin where you can chat with other players as you walk around or friend them. You could also get gear and clothes for your mii to wear.
i'm hoping for an update to come out soon to refine the game a bit like making games like bowling or shooting range, which could easily have 4-player, have 4-player
Tbh I really don’t see bowling going so good for me I miss having my mii doing it and the ball goes really fast I liked how it went with the wii version and it’s very easy to get strikes
Wii Sports as a game (including bowling) had charm and character that made it a blast to play. While I appreciate the polish of these games it's not the same in terms of charm and character.
Throwing the ball in the air was a strike throw and dropping the ball off was a spare shot, it was an intentional design decision. Tbh I rather have a port of the Wii bowing, the ball in this one looks weightless too.
How on earth do you get the ball to go? I swing it back and then swing it forward just like in your video and it just keeps raising and lowering the ball with almost no regard for what I'm doing with my controller...
I think sometimes Nintendo just don't like money. If they release Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort on the Switch I'm preatty sure it would sell like no one's business
Good editing and narration, a lot of these types of videos I find myself constantly forwarding the video for info, because they just talk and talk to make the videos longer. So you've done a great job. One annoyance however, is that background music. It's really annoying and distracting.
No 4 player? Why Nintendo? You have tons of other games that are 4 player, why not this? Or even allowing up to 8 like a normal game of Bowling. Two steps forward, one step backwards.
Just more reason to use Wii Mode on my Wii U. Nothing will be lost, even if this version of bowling turns out to be a lot of fun, which it may end up being.
As long as they release an enhanced port of Wii Sports Club (Deluxe) to the Switch in the future, I have no real problem with this. Switch needs Wii Sports Resort Deluxe as well.

If all of these games are this polished, then I'd say this is a pretty good deal. We've come a long way since Action 52.
