Exactly! They are just jealous that they can no longer enjoy that singles life and miserable that they are stuck with kids that they don’t know how to educate nor control. Also, I wish stores would do that in real life. Also I love how she claims a pair of 485 is "extravagant lifestyle" (don't get me wrong, Carrie absolutely shouldn't have bought over a 100 of those lol that WAS extravagant, but it is her business and here the question is just about 1 pair, which honestly isn't that big of a deal especially in their social circles) but her responsibilities include managing her several houses. @@isaa8521 Okay, well, objectively as show watchers who have all the facts, we CAN say that it was wrong. Had Carrie not had Big and her INCREDIBLE friends to fall back on, she'd have lost the apartment she loves and be stuck paying way more for way less. It is absolutely wrong to splurge 40 000 dollars for shoes when you live paycheck to paycheck. (Carrie was also quite irresponsible with her financial decision making, what with her not even considering buying because "New York is a city of renters". You shouldn't make financial decisions about your future based on what you think everyone else is doing)
That is for her to discuss with her close friends, for the bank teller to be frank about, and for us show watchers to understand.
BUT, it of course had nothing to do with this mean, hypocrite lady that decided to haggle how much she is going to pay for the property that was stolen in her home by her own fault.

I know that raising another human being is a tough and dignifying job, probably one of the hardest jobs on earth, but it was a choice. So, these women should also respect their single peers' choices, who also have a REAL life without kids. If they can't do that, motherhood is only proving to be something they regret and can't cope with. Jealousy and regret. Having dealt with this, since I became single again, I can relate. A family I know, who are quite wealthy, allowed one of their teenagers to drive my car when I was out of state for 2 months. I thought it might be nice for one of their children to make a bit of cash during summer break, house sitting for me. The house was clean, when I got back, no problems there.
My car was NOT new, in fact it was 12 years old. I take very good care of my car, keep it clean, have it serviced when there is a problem, regular oil changes.
We had an agreement, in writing, that NO ONE was allowed to drive my car while I was gone. The teenager lost the gas cap which had been attached before I left, left fast food garbage in my car & it smelled like someone had been smoking weed in it. There was a long scratch on the passenger side & the license plate was bent.
I had just happened to have a few photos taken, of me & a friend, dated as 3 days before I left. The photos showed that the scratch was not there, before, that the license plate was not bent. I also pointed out that the parents AND their child had signed the agreement that no one was to drive my car.
The parents tried to throw it back on me with, "kids will be kids" & "How do you know what weed smells like?"
I got estimates to show how much the repairs would cost & let them know that I wanted their "kids will be kids" to clean my car.
    OMG!
By the way they reacted, it was as if I asked them to buy a new Bentley for me & my car is a Chevy.
I knew I was going to have to either suck it up or take them to small claims court. Either way, the damage to the friendship was done. I took them to small claims court. The parents ended up paying more than they would have if they had just paid for the repairs & had their child clean my car.
There was not even an apology from the parents or their child.

I'm sorry you went through that! Thank God for the pictures! If those parents don't change their "discipline" sounds like they'll be cleaning after their kids into adulthood. • @FreeSpirit47
      @FreeSpirit47 2 года назад +8

      @@Azuca03 I totally believe that.
I have seen some examples of that both in adult children of friends totally screwing up or being very successful in life, sometimes a combo of a little of each.
I was NOT a perfect parent, my 4 kiddos will agree with that. However, I did "fix myself" when my first two were in single digits of age, to break the cycle of child abuse that had been happening for several generations in both of my parents families.
I busted my azz, working, sacrificing, teaching my kiddos so I could be the best parent I could possibly be.
All 4 are now kind hearted, educated, financially secure adults who are in careers they love, married for love & very happy in their lives.
If just one of my kiddos were like this or just 2, I might chalk it up to luck. All 4 are doing well & making positive contributions to the world. It was a lot of work!
Having seen other parents spoil their children badly, I didn't say anything unless I was asked, which almost never happened. The proof is in how their children are, now, as people of adult age, still living with their parents, doing nothing with their lives, still hitting mommy & daddy up for cash or help when they screw up.
My children were told, early on, that they must have a plan in place before they graduate High School, because I expected them to get out on their own afterward, just as I did, just as their father did. I worked with them, taking them to job fairs, university campuses starting at age 5, for them to get an idea of what they wanted to do with their lives.
My only son was spoiled badly by his father, so, it took him a bit longer, he still got there.

This is so real. I hate that some women when they become mothers change and become so judgmental and condescending to childless women. I have two cousins who are a living proof of this. As soon as they became mothers they started treating me differently. They would talk down on me like i was some unworthy and ignorant person. They would think that whatever they say, they are right because apparently having a child made them akways right. And they would make snide comments about me still studying, living with my parents and trying to achieve my dreams like that wasnt real life and real problems but they only have a real life.

This was such a turnoff, but such a realistic view on some “mothers” they seem to change once having children and expect everyone else around them to all of a sudden share the same views. End of the day, Carrie didn’t want to take her shoes off, they were expensive and they were taken from her friends house. Why just because her friend now has kids does it make Carrie’s thoughts of her belongings any less important? It’s been really depressing and hard seeing friends who have become mothers and all of a sudden changing, judging everyone else who doesn’t have kids, judging others for complaining because it can’t come close to their life because they aren’t a mother yet, judging what their friends still spend or waste their money on. I’m over it. I can’t wait to be a mother, but there’s no way in heck will I turn out like this, especially with friends I’ve had for years who I should know best and not think it’s ok to suddenly judge them just because they aren’t mothers and still want to buy whatever the hell they want 🤦🏻‍♀️

I don’t usually agree with Carrie in episodes as I find her really self-absorbed and judgemental but here she was in the right.
When I was single and childless I was often talked down to and patronised by people with kids. Once at a family gathering I was explaining how hectic my work was at that moment and how tired and run down I was feeling. My cousin’s wife laughed at me and said, “Awww sweetie, you don’t really know what tired is until you’ve had children! Your life is cupcakes compared to mine!” For the rest of the day she kept sending snide remarks at me, sniggering in my direction and asking if I needed a nap since I was ‘sooooooo tired’. She made me feel so small and stupid I was close to tears all day.
I’ve since had kids myself and yes while it is exhausting I would NEVER put down another person’s feelings and make out my life was so much better or harder simply because I’m a mother! Also, that cousin in law was a stay at home mum with a nanny AND a cleaner so I don’t think she had that much to do really!
