Steve you're not alone, I took out Solanke and switch to saka. This decision ultimately cost me around 30 points. I only have two rules playing fantasy, never make an early transfer and be patient with my picks - I ignored both so probably deserve the result. The lesson is to trust my picks as sometimes I get them correct! Hopefully the same applies with the team I've got now!
I'm with you Steve!!! Season definitely NOT over having been seen multiple back to back red arrows myself. You've just been unlucky! As you said, we soldier on👊🏼
Very unlucky Steven Had the exact opposite week as you I'm buzzing mate. It was long overdue actually as I've had red arrows for the past 5 weeks now so happy I finally got a green arrow for once. Leif Davis got me a 10 pointer which could have been more if Ipswich hung on for the clean sheet at the end of the game. Brennan Johnson got me an 8 pointer with his goal this week. Cunha with the assist got me a 6 pointer and kept Solanke for the 16 pointer. Currently on 51 points this week but took a -4 so on 47 points really with Mbuemo and Robinson left to play for me. Happy I have 2 attacking Spurs assets in Solanke and Johnson for next week at home against Ipswich looks like a great fixture to target. Don't worry mate it's just 1 gameweek your luck will turn around I'm sure of it😊
The first green after a series of reds must've been a truly welcomed sight. 51 points, fair play mate, that’s a stonker so far this week. 💪 That Leif Davis goal too, absolute quality from the lad! Thanks for the well wishes mate. 🙏
Feel your pain on this one! Sold Solanke and Semenyo this week! And Benched Aina and Rogers! Luckily i've escaped thanks to Salah (C), but it hurts knowing I could've been ranked 1 million+ spots higher, had I not done any moves
Very unfortunate Steven. These decisions happen to everyone. You'll find a way to get a good rank in the end. Meanwhile I'm absolutely flying. Held Solanke and captained Salah and now 51K with ESR, Mbuemo and Robinson to play. Could finish the gw with my highest rank ever.
I’m on 26 too, Bruno saved me from a worse disaster, had a 9,3m rank last gw as well. Dropped from 160K -> 2,6m in 5gws. Silly old game isn’t it? Didn’t even own Solanke because of injury issues. On a wc now to reset my team, saving my fts and getting ahead of the curve. Been here before and still finished 50k. I don’t mind the Jackson transfer at all, just the timing is a bit too early with Ipswich coming up. prolly getting Jackson/Isak in on my wc. Only criticism for selling Solanke would be the cherry picking of the stats with recency bias. The form stats of 3-4 gws is too noisy for being relevant, Better to weight it up against a players historic stats and then assess if there’s any reason for believing something has changed. Thanks for the great content and good luck.
Haha, yeah it can be a pretty rough game at times. Oof, Bruno 's return must’ve been more than welcomed, especially considering it was probably a nervy hold. Cracking into the wildcard is very powerful right now with the massive fixture swing and the long list of injuries, I would probably be playing it myself if I still had it available. Yeah fair points, although assessing Solanke’s history is difficult considering it was all at Bournemouth. Spurs have also been without a prolific number 9 since Kane, so I was feeling like they had adapted to a style that wasn’t as reliant on feeding the number 9. Aston Villa going down by 4 goals was also not what I was predicting either. Thanks for the kind words mate. Appreciate it!
I know some guy who had no Haaland for the first five 5 weeks and had a brutal rank in the 5 million region. He didn't budge in his decision, and now hes buzzing in the top 100k. Season definitely not over, but yeah some magic will need to be performed from here on.
Very true, it is always possible though I feel like I might need a philosopher's stone or something to turn it around. 😅 Some climb by your mate, loving life! 💪
Absolutely brutal mate 😢 I was thinking you'd done ok until I saw this video! Would I have held Solanke if I owned him? I might well have moved him to Cunha, tho the Ipswich game might have stayed my hand. If I had the budget to move him to Jackson (I don't), I would have waited to gw12 since United away was not an easy game and Arsenal at home is just a fixture best avoided. Chelsea haven't been setting the world alight since Palmer's monster haul against Brighton. That Spurs result was worst case with so many Solanke and Johnson owners out there. With Halaand, Palmer & Saka ALL blanking, I am grateful to Wood, Aina and Davis for keeping me in the mix. Mbeumo and Wissa to play tho Brentford don't have a great record at Fulham.
Yeah fair points on buying into Jackson early. I really didn’t see a monster haul coming from Solanke against Villa, and I had seen enough of United to think Chelsea would do some damage. Talk about getting absolutely punished! Geez, the hope I have in Mbeumo and ESR to come through tonight is palpable. 😅 Wood pulls through again, he is having some season! 💪 Aina as well, and that Leif Davis goal too. Geez, talk about a finish 🎯
I benched Aina and Rogers, and sold Solanke this week. Feeling your pain! Your sensible decisions are coming off massively unlucky, it's brutal luck but the variance will come back around eventually I'm sure. The rank swings are still pretty severe and there's plenty of time to go!
sorry to hear this week went badly for you! I have salad and haaland and it's been 3 weeks that I have been afraid to captain salad, could have gotten me an additional 20-25 points! In other news, how is your website going, do you know when it will be finished?
Season isn't done yet mate. A lot of people will move to Jackson in GW12 and the rest of team still looks solid. I'd get Ait-Nouri for Konate in GW11, downgrade Porro to a 4.5 in GW12 so you can go Foden to Saka in GW13 and maybe Stewart to Strand-Larsen/Joao Pedro thereafter if funds allow.
At this point, you may as well not make transfers, Steve, with how much you're dodging points. I kept Solanke not with a lot of faith, but I wanted to stick to my original plan of keeping him at least till Ipswich. From my eye test, yes, he was dropping deep often, but he also had some chances to score in every game. Some of them did not end up as shots, so they wouldn't have been recorded in his xG. Hence why I never look at xG in isolation.
Haha, fair cop mate, the amount of points I’ve transferred out is getting ridiculous! Professional points dodging right here. 🤦♂ Well played holding onto Solanke mate! 💪 Yeah, I’m not one for relying solely on xG either, but he did seem very absent in the matches I had watched. Seems I was too impatient, I should’ve just let him sit and hope that he got involved in the very attacking system that Spurs have been running. Ipswich next week is going to be a rough watch. ☠
The Jackson transfer is done now so not much you can do, might have missed the last video. Do you have many transfers left? I guess the best thing you can do is assume the worse case scenario and Jackson gets his 5th yellow during the Arsenal game, then figure out how on earth you get out a decent 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 for GW12? 😅 Don't envy you with that dilemma.
00:00 Intro
02:55 Why I sold Solanke
04:54 Jackson in reasoning
09:55 Man City reshuffle debrief
16:19 The whole team blanked
The Solanke move is just unlucky, I doubt anyone saw spurs scoring 4 and for Solanke to be involved in 3 of them is peak fpl
As always, sound reasoning Steve, just hard luck! Enjoy your hill run 😊👍

Oof, that’s a rough couple of transfers mate. 🙈 I should take a note out of your book and trust my picks a little longer.
I'm not sure I could make a video after a week like that, fair play mate.
Haha, it definitely takes some adjusting to.
I'm with you Steve!!! Season definitely NOT over having been seen multiple back to back red arrows myself. You've just been unlucky! As you said, we soldier on👊🏼
Thanks mate. 👊 I’ll definitely be soldiering, no chance I'm quitting! Hopefully I can put some respectability back into my OR.
Very unlucky Steven

Holy moly, that’s a bittersweet gameweek mate. 🙈 Salah captain though! 💪

That's rough bro. Your team looks so good on paper lol.

06:50 I meant to say “Whereas Chelsea’s first 11 had a full week’s rest with the reserves playing midweek, getting them knocked out of the EFL Cup”.
Absolutely brutal mate 😢 I was thinking you'd done ok until I saw this video! Would I have held Solanke if I owned him? This season has been a tough slog so far for a lot of us! I've got Aina and Semenyo sitting on my bench 😂
I benched Aina and Rogers, and sold Solanke this week. Feeling your pain!
Your sensible decisions are coming off massively unlucky, it's brutal luck but the variance will come back around eventually I'm sure. The rank swings are still pretty severe and there's plenty of time to go!
Oh mate, that’s a rough week! Thanks for the vote of confidence, very welcomed in week’s like these. 🙏
As I had to make an emergency transfer out of Eze, so I kept Solanke. Sometimes you just get lucky...
sorry to hear this week went badly for you! I have salad and haaland and it's been 3 weeks that I have been afraid to captain salad, could have gotten me an additional 20-25 points!
In other news, how is your website going, do you know when it will be finished?
My season's done as well bro. FPL absolutely sucks.
I feel your pain mate. It was a rough week, but we soldier on.
Just unlucky Steve, I moved solanke to Cunha based on solanke's output. totally feasible move in my eyes.
Palmer and Rogers will be fine.

Likewise I've got Son in my team who I want to swap for Saka, but I'm gonna let Son play Ipswich before I do the change.
9.4 million game week so far. i feel your pain.
Commiserations mate, I’m sure there’s a few of us out there this week.
