    The Burlington Skyway will always remain as one of the most iconic bridges I've ever driven across in Ontario or North America. Rode across it very many years ago when I was attending an ~8th grade field trip (to Niagra Falls) and it was probably the first large bridge I've ever seen in person, of course not counting crossing the Blue Water Bridge itself! I was just super impressed after riding over that tall bridge with the 2 Lift Bridge towers off to the side with the "Canada" title on top and seeing Lake Ontario off in the background. Not go mention it was a nice sunny day with no clouds!
    As always awesome drive and great video!

      For reasons that should be obvious, I think the Burlington Skyway was the first large bridge that I ever drove across as a kid as well. (The Blue Water Bridge was probably the second).
      Niagara Falls was probably a pretty neat 8th grade field trip. Thanks for the comment.

      Yeah. The Burlington Skyway is the first big bridge like that I remember going over as a kid. The next one I can remember for sure is the thousand islands bridge by Kingston over to New York when we had a family reunion an hour outside of NYC. As for other Canadian bridges, I quite enjoyed going on the Confederation Bridge. It was surreal seeing nothing but water for 8 km or so. In BC, the Port Mann bridge is quite nice too over the Fraser River. The Lions Gate Bridge is at the West end of Georgia Street by Stanley Park and it connects downtown Vancouver to North Vancouver. In the city the main bridges I know of are on Burrard, Granville and Cambie Streets going over false creek.

      It is the only bridge crossing one lake of the Great Lakes, in this case is obviously the western tip of Lake Ontario.

    • @CrystalClearWith8BE
      @CrystalClearWith8BE 4 года назад +1

      Actually, it's not the only bridge crossing a water body of the Great Lakes. Another is I-75 in the US state of Michigan where it crosses the Straits of Mackinac which is a joint of Lake Michigan and Lake Huron.

    Thanks for the video. Brings back memories of driving tractor-trailer Buffalo to Toronto and back. Definitely not the usual Friday evening volume. I usually would take the outside route using the 407 and save over an hour.

    • @CrystalClearWith8BE
      @CrystalClearWith8BE 3 года назад +1

      If you want to take the 407, you have to pay with a transponder. Money is also important to save, even when driving.

    Good to hear there is upcoming work on the QEW. Those wooden post barriers, yikes.

      it wasn't all that long ago that almost all GTA freeways had that steel median barrier with truss lighting.
      Thanks for watching, and thanks for the comment.

    You route is parallel to the western shoreline and tip of Lake Ontario. Nice highways I've seen that are worth filming, even the 401 and it's 44 km express lanes too. 😉👍

    You know how theres hwy 427 and hwy 409 and its traffic in between those areas take the 427 north bound then take that to hwy 409 which connects back up to hwy 401 samething bothways

    • @CrystalClearWith8BE
      @CrystalClearWith8BE 4 года назад

      Speaking of which, 409 is a short spur and alternate route of 401, connecting towards 427 and Toronto Pearson International Airport, located entirely in the GTA. 427 is a connector route connecting QEW and Gardiner Expressway, to 401, Toronto Pearson International Airport and 409, then to 407 and ends with Highway 7 in the GTA. It is also an alternate route of Highway 27.

    Looks like those drivers are very horribly trained. No left lane passing laws, people passing and speeding in merging lanes, tailgating, police not moving with flow of traffic. Couldn't imagine driving there.

    I was wondering if this were to be the same when Canada got hit by the first version of the virus SARS 2003. Speaking of Queen Elizabeth way Toronto to Fort Erie Peace Bridge Buffalo New York State you see New York license plates
