Go a little bit out of your depth. And when you don’t feel that your feet are quite touching the bottom, you’re just about in the right place to do something exciting.” -David Bowie
I don’t have personal experience with managing spin cycle, but knitty natty talked about how she made her alpenglow sleeves match. Basically she knit them two at a time (which would be pretty easy bottom up) knitting two repeats with the spin cycle on one arm, cutting it, attaching it to the other arm, knitting two repeats there etc. It turned out amazing! There are lots of ends to weave in, though.
I am glad you don't edit your podcast!! I enjoy your musings...you being you! Even though I don't spin, card, or play with bats, I love what you share about it. (...though at times, my head spins, I can be batty, and I am a card.. sorry 🙃)
So glad someone asked about combo spinning. I was just having a conversation with my sister so gave me several types of fiber to spin that are all in the white/cream range. There are a few that are 100% wool but others that have silk or some nylon. She suggest, similar to what you suggested, spinning them separately then plying them together. I also have a few lucky dip bags from Hedgehog Fibers and am a bit nervous about spinning straight from the bag, as I think is how you described what you did for the attune shawl. I have the Yarnitecture book. I think I’ll ask for the Fleece to Fiber Sourcebook for Christmas 😊
i am guilty! i have snipped out lengths of colors i didn't like in a variegated yarn, but i save the outcasts for other projects [and i've even used a few ;-) ].
Love all your videos but I'm not a prolific handknitter like you. I've took the plunge last year to buy a knitting machine to learn something new. Im learning lots from you and hoping to enjoy my projects. Keep up designing . Xxx
Always look forward to listening on Friday's and sharing my morning with you. Any chance--pretty please, of a slightly earlier release of your new sweater pattern coming out next week. I have the yarn and would love to be able to gift this as a Christmas present for my granddaughter. Please..... maybe others are also hoping to finish by Christmas

I sent several questions right after Episode 90 (one asking you to comment about 4" vs 5" interchangeable needle lengths). They didn't make it into Episode 91. (a) is that just a matter of "editorial choice" or are you thinking of getting to them later, and I just need to be patient? (b) What is the best way to send you questions for you to consider addressing in your (wonderful) podcast?
Hi all my knitter friends. I'm a new knitter and I can't get gauge even after changing my hook size. Can I have some pointers to be able to get the correct finished size.
Good morning and thanks for another great episode. It was perfect to hear you talk about the Spark Cardigan again. Oh full disclosure, I used cascade 220 for the main color and I used cascade 220 Wave super wash for the contrasting color. I’ve been knitting for years and have never done a steek and truly should have know better then to use a super wash when steeking. Well I’ve finished the sweater before I had that realization. So, I have done a crochet reinforcement row on each side and then I did a back stitch reinforcement stitch on both sides in a strong light fingering weight yarn. Do you think that’s enough?! Diane
Oh no! You forgot to add all the 'down below' stuff. Description? LOL I went to check what question was asked, clicked 'show more' and there was no mo!

You are so adorable when you just ramble. So fun to listen to. And your hair looks so cute today! Have a lovely weekend.
I love what you said about having separation anxiety from your stash. I ‘suffer’ the same and thought it was own personal weirdness. 😊.
Your yarn is simply gorgeous! We all are overachievers in thought, I think that’s part of the whole process. Thanks for sharing your talents.
So fun to hear your kids play in the background sound. I love your Daydreamer sweater. Have a lovely teaching weekend.

Yo really have improved in your spinning, your colors are gorgeous and i can tell you are having a lot of fun
Anxiety over travel knitting. I can relate! My non-knitter friends would be shaking their heads. lol
Your hair looks amazing today.
I just wanted to comment to say I love your hair today! It looks so great. :)
Yes, please add the show notes! I need to check out the book links. Thank you!
Hey just about to start the Daydreamer! so excited to see it live. Thanks!
Always pack the travel knitting first!😂
Waiting for my yarn to knit the Big Cosy cardigan. Fell in love with the pattern as soon as you released it and I knew I hade to knit it. Can’t wait.
I’m obsessed with it.

Only a knitter would understand bringing yarn for an “emergency cast on” 😂
Love your hair cut!
I'm in the PNW and was sad your classes were full!!! Welcome to Oregon!
I love the yarn. Another wonderful podcast. Enjoy the other Portland.
My nails are the first place I notice an issue with my thyroid too. Doctors always made it sound like that was odd, so I was interested to hear that!

We could hear the kids, but we don't at all. We all have kids and some of us, grandkids. It's one of the nicest sounds on the earth !!!
I agree…..love the sound of kids!
Yes!!
I didn't know I had kids 🤣
i am guilty! i have snipped out lengths of colors i didn't like in a variegated yarn, but i save the outcasts for other projects [and i've even used a few ;-) ].
You are a joy!
Yes, I’m having trouble getting the show notes. I’m getting us the transcript. Thanks.

I travel a lot and laughed out loud at the stash separation anxiety 😂😂 I did really good this weekend and only brought two hats and one pair of socks.
Stash separation anxiety 😂 I feel you

I love ❤️ watching your weekly show! Q.. how do you store your sweaters and other knitted goods? I only have 4 sweaters and 3 shawls so far...
I would love to see this too! Make sure to ask your question in the form linked in the description so she sees it 😊

Try steeking a swatch with the same treatment. Note, I haven’t tried superwash but have been told works fine with extra reinforcement.
Thank you! It’s helpful to have some support behind the scissors ! 😅🧶
All your show notes don’t seem to be showing up (or is it just me). When I click on “more” the only thing that shows is the transcript.
I do not see them this week either
Just adding that I, too, don't see any notes. I really like that feature! Very useful.
I also appreciate the show notes so am missing them this week.
We've been spoiled with the show notes. 🥰
Are there show notes for this episode? I was hoping to look up the Nancy Merchant book, but I can’t remember the title!
Love the podcast as always! I’m curious- how did your GF pie crust come out? Hope you have a great trip!
I’ll be at Starlight for the meet and greet tonight! I can’t wait! 🎉
