They weren't playing dodgeball, the child hit with the ball was SERIOUSLY INJURED BY IT, and it was a deliberate attack followed up by the black kid making fun of the other kid, and yelling racial slurs at him.
They were playing a game called "tips" which is basically catch. White kid didn't catch the ball, so the next time the black kid got the ball, he pegged the white kid in the side of the head while he wasn't looking.
Additionally, this was a special needs class (hence the injury prone child, and emotionally disturbed child playing together).
The media has absolutely shit all over this story because of the black/white headline. If the races were reversed (and nothing else) you'd ACTUALLY be hearing the facts of the case, rather than the propaganda.

The only reasonable reason to charge a kid with hitting another kid is if the kid that got hit was seriously injured (concussion, brain injury ect) but tbh it was probs something non serious....

idk If this is the same story I think it is the kid had problems where injuries in his skull area are way worse than normal. Yet he was allowed to play DODGEBALL and SPORTS on a regular basis. The kid that hit him had NO idea about this and was just playing dodgeball like a normal person.

If anyone could get charged for hitting others with a dodge ball, I’d never be charged but this guy I once knew would be the dodgeball crime equivalent of a cereal killer. He once headshot me and this other super tough guy like, REALLY HARD (I had a cut because it hit my glasses into my nose when it only glanced off me, and the other guy got a black eye because it hit straight on with a really hard ball) I was already not feeling well that day but decided to get a game of dodgeball in before going home. But with the extra headshot I had a better reason. When I got in the nurses office the other guy who got hit was there too. And he went home. When I told the nurse what happened, I knew she knew it was the same guy who sent two people home in one day. I hope he got in trouble. If that ball that hit me was any harder or hit me any more straight on, it could have broken my nose or something. And let me put this into perspective: he’s kinda short, but thick with muscle. He lifts and is a former football player and wrestler. That versus me, a small, thin girl. And the other guy was pretty burly and just mostly tough but he took him down with a ball
