They couldn't use the original due to legal issues. Still, Yukes has some damn good music I used to listen to the Evil Zone soundtrack when I would study!
Interesting, never saw this version. In Europe the game had some changes but wasn't as censored as the Us version, Erel still had her original attire, the only change was the soundtrack and maybe other minor thing.
But the others... not so much. Paul Eiding is an interesting case, he doesn't change his voice much, yet it's fitting for all the characters he voiced, regardless if it's some narrator, retired military officer, an alien leader, someone's uncle or broken AI wanting a pair of scissors.

The 2nd stage "gally" feels alot like Rungo from the first or 2nd Toshinden both character and stage AND track.

Still a fun game, love the soundtrack, sucks they censor her in the US version but i do enjoy the US version of her track more than the JP version.
