Wow... what a beautiful journal, just chock full of creative, adaptable ideas we can get materials for online and have around the house when we're staying in and safe!!
Beth what a gorgeous beauty! Love love the colours and the variety of papers and laces! The tabs are fantastic! No wonder she sold so quickly! Thank you for the inspiration! Nektaria
The book is called "Popular Garden Botany", by Agnes Catlow, and was published in 1855. The cover of this particular publication was originally dark green with central floral vignette and spine in gold. Whoever did the digital work on this cover did a splendid job keeping the original features despite the weathered look which only enhanced its beauty. And your journal is beyond beautiful. I would be breathless to hold such treasure in my hands.
We're so glad you enjoyed Beth's beautiful journal! I have the original Botanical book in my collection, I didn't realize it was dark green originally, my copy is faded and worn as you can see by the scan above, but I love it! I have several scans of the floral prints from inside of the book on my blog too. You can find one of them here if you would like to download it, it's free. thegraphicsfairy.com/instant-art-printable-lovely-lovely-lily-bouquet/
@@thegraphicsfairyHow lucky you are to have a real copy of this book! I wouldn't know much why your cover is a lighter shade of green, but i can say it looks even more beautiful. Thank you, so much, for the link. That is a lovely bouquet! The work you do to clean and brighten these images is simply amazing. I found the book in digital format at archive.org, after watching Beth's video, because I loved the cover and because I'm a botanist myself. I love collecting these digitalized old botany books and learning about the authors and their passion for plants.
Beth, your sweet little journal is an absolute work of art. I love all the attention to detail with your tucks, tags and journal cards. Beautiful journal...♡ The tabs are really nice as well. Would you share the name of the die you used to make them? Love love love your journal. Hugs from Arizona...:)
Beth this Journal is so stunning! I think it might be my favorite out of all the beautiful journals that you have done. The cover is exceptionally pretty!! 😍
That is absolutely stunning, Beth! I especially love the cheesecloth under the tab; I'm going to try that one! I just uploaded my first junk journal video, it's a review of Tracie's Attache course. I'd love it if you could stop by sometime.
WOW! As usual your work is marvelous, Beth. I noticed on the blog post that you made a curved spine. Do you have any tutorials for this type of spine? Thank you.
Very nice. I am new to this. Do you paste all lace, corners, etc. on the paper, fold in half. Then somehow attached into the spine of a book? I bought an old book, do I tear out all the pages? this is from last May!
Hi, its such a gorgeous journal and definitely worth re-watching! Unfortunately, Beth is no longer on our design team as the video is a few years old so I can't check which die was used.
