Thank you, David, I thoroughly enjoyed this video, very informative and I was amazed at how much more interesting the Portrait looked after your processing.
Hi, really great edit. Does savings all the layers add much to the size of the file rather than flattening the image and which format would you save it in?
Thanks pleased that you enjoyed it. Yes it will add to the file size, but I would worry about it. When I first started imaging one of my images won an award. I would love to recreate the effect and if I'd saved it in layers I would have been able to see how I achieved that effect... lesson learnt! I always save in layers and I don't worry about the size. unfortunately, all the editing in the world will not fix the bad facial view where the head is turned too far away from the camera and the nose cuts into the eye and the orbit of the eye is not containing that eye but the orbit has had an axe applied to it. Body positioning and facial views (2- 2/3, 2 profiles (4 if you simply use back and frontal body) and a full face) are where to begin and then added to this is either based upon sex, the feminine or masculine attitude. Obviously there are other factors but those are the first to consider before beginning to think of exposing.
Thanks for your insight into taking great portraits phlotographer. I was just grateful to the photographer who made the image freely available so as I could show editing techniques. Cheers David
