- It's a Sony on my kitchen-table and I've never seen a machine like this model before. There are 2 Drives inside this machine and the left is a CD-Player and on the the right is a CD-Recorder. I've got 2 of these machines, identical to yours. Got stuck drawers on deck A. Otherwise play perfectly after 20 years.

You also have the option to set drive to service mode and you can control the sled to see it moving for a repair

I would start by replacing the surface mount capacitors on that board, I have a Sony minidisc deck that did the same thing (TOC error/no disc) replacing the capacitors fixed the problem. The working board may have failing capacitors as well as it took a lot of time to read the TOC.

@@weakbit633 My minidisc deck is a MDS-JE500 It's actually quite simple, the faulty capacitors are on the actual mechanism board beneath, I separated the board from the mechanism and swapped all six surface mount 6.3V 100uF and two 10V 10uF with normal through hole capacitors soldered to the pads. After reassembling it read the TOC immediately after inserting the disc and it's working perfectly now. Surface mount capacitor from the 90s will all fail sooner or later, most of these old capacitors read 30+ Ohms on the ESR meter.
I have the same model... rcd-w100.
On Deck B I have reading problems: some original CDs "skip" towards the middle of the disc during playback, while other original CDs and also Verbatim CDs have no reading errors and Deck B plays them without problems.
I have often cleaned the lens, mechanism, arm where the laser moves but I haven't solved the problem.
I believe that with some CDs the laser does not read the reflective layer of the disc correctly.
I can't find the entire the Deck B (loader).
The loader code is KRM-220CAA or also 8-583-104-01.
Can you give me some advice and help me?

I just changed the whole deck A with one I bought on ebay for spares

Hello I'm sorry I don't know where to buy but the mane of the drive is 'CDM66C-30B61M' left drive or 'CDM65-RBD2' right burner - please have a look at Aliexpress or eBay.

Yes sometimes - in this case there are no rootkit available but you can active the rootkit with a big hammer and hit onto the drive right side! hehe weakbit PS: if you have one then I'm interest to reset the death-counter!
