This week I head to a local hill in search of cup and ring marks. please respect the land and livestock of our beautiful countryside. If in doubt just get out 🩷🥾
What a great walk. Stunning rock art. I'm staying very close to there in the summer so this is going on the list. Fabulous views of the Cheviots too. Thanks for sharing.
Brilliant video just what my soul needed this Sunday morning. Beautiful scenery spectacular sunset from a lovely lady and her adorable doggie. Your channel makes my heart smile. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead xx
Class, love Rolo, I'm always intrigued to why they made these carvings. I think it just took their fancy, the same way art does today, great sunset and as always its hard to beat the welcome from the Northumberland hills, and yasel of course, cheers
Hey Derek. Thanks so much for watching. Ah rolo bless him he just goes wherever I go. He's in training too I think 😂. Hope ya well and those bags are amazing 👏
Yes, I would find that walking in the mud very hard as well. Not sure about the gimbal, as stability would have been much better on a GoPro but at the end of the day, it is what suits 'you' the best. Always nice to go to a new area, that you used to go with your parents and what a great day to visit, the weather was brilliant, as were the views. Those setting sun views took so beating as well mind, cheers Alan
Thanks for watching Alan. Yeah I'm still getting to grips with the gimbal. I like it but it drains my phone terribly. So I'm just figuring it out some more.
Thoroughly enjoyed watching this. Lovely part of the country, great scenery views and info 🙂👍Love hillforts, we have many here in Shropshire. Nice one.
Hi there. Thanks so much for your kind comments. And for taking the time to watch. I've never been to Shropshire but it does look amazing. Thanks again
Ah, fantastic outing not far from home Emz. It's amazing what's on our doorstep. Now they must be some of the first land art pieces in British history. Andy Goldsworthy would be enthralled - probably is. Great views on top and no better way to finish than through a cracking sunset like that. I experienced similar recently on a walk and camp in the Black Mountains near me - on my channel if interested. Well, always good to join you. Mark
excellent Emma. I really wanted to visit here when I was heading through Chatton but it was just too far out of my way. May need to go back one day though when I get around to visiting all the places I missed. You got a fantastic sunset. Absolutely incredible. You are not too far from another place I missed that I really wanted to visit, the iron age huts on the edge of Trickley Wood (look at the satellite image below the hill fort), and the cup and rings at Fowberry Park are said to be impressive too.
Morning Alice. Hope you're well. I'm enjoying your updates on Instagram. It is a lovely place to see the rock art. I have looked at fowberry on the map I'm thinking I may walk there from home today and have a look. Thanks so much for watching. Take care
Watched last night on the big tv Emz - another great bit of exploring (and research) and finding interesting stuff to spice a windy hiking day up with. The rock art always amazes me, we'll never know why it was done, I've heard a few theories and none of them make me think 'oh yeah!' I'd like to see someone try and recreate that stuff, to see how long it takes and what tools they'd have to use. Nice find with that hillfort / settlement area, looked a good spot for one out in the open, in plain sight with views for miles. Great sunset to finish with as well. Cheers you two (I'm thanking Rolo as well for being a good lad and hiking buddy), another great watch and your new gimbal steadied your footage up. I wish I'd knew you were thinking about buying one, I've got an older Osmo 3 gimbal, I just never got on with it, only used it a couple of times. I'll have to pop it on eBay. Cheers Emz 😁👍🏼
Good morning wor dvs. Hope ya well. You know me and rolo love a mooch about even if it is literally on me doorstep, it's amazing what ya find isn't it. Damn shame I should have asked ya about a gimbal could have had myself a bargain. I do like the one I've got, only downside is my phone depletes battery power quite quickly so I don't think I'd use it for my upcoming affric kintail way. I've got 2 battery packs to take which should last the couple of days I'll need power for. Really appreciate you watching on the big telly lass. Xxx
Hey Emz, Lovely video again with awesome views. Seems like a good local one for you! How are you liking the DJI Osmo 6 gimbal? Hopefully it wasn’t the DJI Mimo app that drained your battery? I had the Osmo 3 for while and it really helped with the video stabilisation. 👍
Evening Craig. Hope you're well. Yes it's a lovely walk up there. Have you been ?. Funny you should mention the app that's the very one I use for the gimbal. I love the gimbal but do you think it's the app draining the battery?
@@emz_adventure Im doing great thanks! Ive been around Chillingham area a bit but not exactly where you were on your video. Ive been meaning to get back that way to try and find Cateran Hole. I think thats close by too. Yeah I done a a quick google and other people have mentioned similar issues with using the app / battery. Most phones let you check what apps are draining your battery in the settings section. You could try just using the normal camera app on your phone while using the gimbal but you would lose some of the functionality.
@CraigDroneAdventures that's really interesting. I'm so not tech savvy and didn't even know i could use gimbal through phone camera I'll have to see if I can figure it out 😂. Ah the cateran hole is quite easy to find just hard to explain where it is. It's on os maps you just park in the parking bit just before quarry House mast if you're coming from Ros hill then walk along the path towards blaewerie then you will come to a left turn about half mile along and follow the path through the Heather and there's a grassy knol and its just there 😉
What a great walk. Stunning rock art. I'm staying very close to there in the summer so this is going on the list. Fabulous views of the Cheviots too. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Dawn. I bet you're looking forward to visiting again. Thanks so much for watching. You should definitely go and have a look at the stones 😊
